Be our Galentine! Friday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Be our Galentine! We all need gal friends and we've all been friends for a very long time!

We're having a little virtual Galentines brunch today - there are pastries, sweets, and fresh fruit, hot coffee and cold juices, and an omelet station over in the corner to cook up that protein we need to get through our busy days! Join and celebrate our friendships, and after, we'll all get to work together!

Wishing my Galentine friends a happy day!

Happy "chocolate for breakfast" day! I made that up. Dh gave me chocolates this morning, so I had some with my hot tea.

The sun came out this morning. Very unfortunate for me. Wow! Was my living room dusty?? Oh, yeah!! So I was dusting at 7:30 this morning. Then I did some pots and pans. I also cleaned the visible counter in the bathroom. Dh keeps all his stuff all over the left side and the cats have their water dish on the right side.

We are NOT going out tonight as I prefer to avoid restaurants when I know they will be busy. I am going to Fibre Friday at a local quilt/yarn store. The library has re-named our Monday morning group to "Fibre... (something I can't remember)

I think "Galentines" Day was actually yesterday but we're celebrating today. Dd was going to an event last night and I know there was a Galentines crafting event here last night.

Quiet day here, I allowed myself to sleep in, given the busy day yesterday. Of course, by the time we got out our fav restaurant had 1.25 hr wait last night so we didn't wait. We walked across the street to a tavern/bar with the best burgers in town, and they were full of people waiting for a table, so we came home. Dh had the rest of the soup he was going on eat on Sunday p.m. when he forgot, and made a grilled cheese, and I made myself a sandwich. I had cheese and crackers while waiting around for dh and friend to be done so I wasn't starving by then. Ah, we went into CVS too (across street from both restaurants) and they already were reprocessing my script for a three month supply, so I have to wait again. Now it says on back order again, although the pharmacist said it could come in today, and if not, probably Monday.

Today PODA:
-groceries
-go by post office box again for HOA straggler checks?
-still need to call for mamogram appointment - I hung up after being on hold for awhile the other day
-bank for HOA deposits
-try to call to get deed for the house (this is for estate planning)
-research or crafting or clean up upstairs
-supper tonight:
---swordfish
---asparagus
---maybe sweet potato? another veggie?

LOL, Cathy! Chocolate for breakfast! I'll add some to our buffet!

Good Morning and Happy Galentine!

Today I am focusing on getting the plates spinning again. It requires a bit of coordination and continual attention to keep the basics going. Remember the 3 D's? Dishes, Duds, Dinner.
There seems to be an almost endless amount of other D"s that can be added....

I understand "getting plates spinning" well, LadyM. Like your list of Ds, too.

Two more checks in mailbox and one online this a.m. so I only have two HOA cks left to collect.

I have grocery list and deposit ready. I'm going to make my healthy brunch then will head out for deposit, post office and groceries. I'm making a "meal train" meal on Sunday for a family from temple. If you are on Facebook you may have seen me comment or like posts on "For Fox Sake" wildlife rehab. It's the director and their family. So, elaborate grocery list, making a butternut, caramalized onion and mushroom (vegetarian) lasagne, a salad, bread (challah in breadmaker) and maybe some fruit for a side or dessert.

I've mopped all the floors including the library. That floor is real wood and it's gorgeous. Absolutely stunning when it's shiny and wet. I don't want to put a polish on it because it's already slippery.

I've also been working away at dishes and all the sharp knives and bits and pieces, (like the lid for my thermos cup) are in the sink right now.

Dh keeps thanking me for all my hard work. That man knows how to use sweet words, like honey. My ex used to use sour words and tell me how I missed this spot or behind a door that never got moved. I much prefer the honey over the vinegar.

Good morning! Started a post yesterday but never finished it.

Happy Galentine's Day to all of you! What a lovely spread you've put out, Twins!

The chocolates and tea remind me of Kathryn's morning chocolate, Cathy. I'm sorry that it looks like she won't be posting until the political situation changes, but I can understand. One can only bite one's tongue so hard for so long.

We're all moving slowly here today. Well, except for DH. He was only out of the house a little late because they're doing a faculty/staff retreat day, so he didn't need to be there as early as usual. I was in bed until the sun was high enough to shine at me, and I just woke the kids half an hour ago; I should have had them up an hour ago, at least. DD does not have to go into work today because the school she works at is having a faculty development day, too; theirs does not include staff. Everyone will be off on Monday, too, except that I will have to go to the hospital for pre-admission testing. Bleah.

I did a mountain of dishes yesterday and have another to do today. I don't know how DH can make so many dishes for a one-pot meal. Who was it that was talking a while ago about their DH filling the sink with dirty dishes? Mine does it, too, and it drives me nuts. Then I have to take all the dirty dishes out of the sink so I can stop it up and fill it! :x Oh, well, usually he is the one doing the dishes, so I shouldn't complain too much. I'll also need to do a load of wash. I'm so caught up with that that I was able to skip yesterday except for throwing in the dryer a load I'd washed the day before. I didn't have a load's worth of anything else ready. Well, I should have tackled the pile of blankets, but I didn't.

And I have to go out and do some shopping today. I need a few things from the drugstore, and I can get DH a Valentine's card while I'm there, if they still have any. I also need to get ingredients to make pigs in a blanket for girls' night tomorrow -- if you can call sausages and canned crescent rolls ingredients. I wonder if they will have such at the little Al di by us. I'm sure they'll have sausages, but I don't know if they do canned rolls. Maybe I'll look on Insta cart first, but I think they use the bigger Al di a few miles away, so they might have something we don't. At any rate, I need to make a couple of shopping lists.

I will have to add Delight to my daily D's, Lady M!

That must have been a lovely conversation you had with your DSis, Nancy!

Well, off I go! *Poof*
