Write it down Wednesday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Write it down! Best way to remember, everything at your fingertips!

Today I'm in a webinar all day - will be every Wednesday for five weeks - and I'll be taking notes. What are you writing today? Journals? Lists? Dreams?

Thinking of Harriet today - healing from biopsy again, and LadyM, with Lord M whose memory was failing yesterday but improved later. Lots on our minds today, so writing it down - as LadyM did last night - is essential!

I am doing well, thank you all. Discharging nurse had said no cooking or kitchen work specifically in the first few days, 'cause it's on your feet. I thought that was very insightful. Often, they just say something about not lifting and that's all, and it doesn't encompass what really tires a person about daily tasks. Anyway, I'm not in pain. Dd said whoops that's probably when you get into trouble so keep remembering, lol.

lucylee, thinking of you as you have your preregistration and meet-the-doctor day today. All procedures are different. For mine I never was going to sleep anyway.

Mystery, glad for you that you already got your preadmission out of the way the other day. Thinking of you as you monitor for that possible exposure to Covid. Keeping a good thought!

Twin's, off to school with her bookbag this morning. Always happy to hear about times we are learning.

Weather and closures - ddolder's univ is on Level 1, meaning anything that can be done online is to be done online. DangerBoy's univ is on Level 2 which is more restrictive and no classroom instruction happening at all. Public schools here are on "remote learning only" with no extracurricular. WonderBoy did have a soccer practice last evening but that's the last for the week, and he had his regular public library job (I assume that is the last day of that, too.)

HRH told me last night that the forecast was being shifted a little - looks like Thursday could be a worse day than thought. We have nowhere to go ourselves and he got some groceries in recently enough that we're fine.

Morning…

Been to class and then coffee with friends. Now home and about to make my brunch. Yikes just realized my bed’s not made and I have laundry to fold and put away! Later after lunch need to bring additional information to my tax’s man.

Harriet, glad you’re not hurting!

That's the last one of the mo. b/c the rest are before and on automatic.

QT I've been writing in journals prayer one on my planner notes from today's 40 days. Not really fun but very insightful and productive for me to dig in
and learn with Hebrew / Greek word definition that I wrote out with the verse both were in the lesson I appreciate that. My plan for the day in my planner.

Learning the setting for warming up water in my big cup for broth this morning. Found the buttons for that very handy 1-6 min. yea !
So I'm using the cup I got myself for Val. day...

Next up to have bfast and deal with the table.

So glad to see Harriet's post and LucyL. thinking of you today.

As it turned out, we had maybe a couple of inches of snow last night. When I got up, it was a winter wonderland outside - trees coated and the ground covered. It's melting off quickly, dropping from trees quickly now. I got to the post office. Went to banks but both were having a delayed start because of the snow, but roads were fine. No accumulation on streets, even our lightly traveled circle. (Frustrated about banks!)

Earlier when I started the thread, dh was still home and talking a mile a minute. I was lucky to be together enough to write a bit. He had a doctor appointment this a.m. and dr cancelled on him because of weather.

I got in a.m. routine, except for eating breakfast, before class started. Still in introductory session right now and I'm eating. Cameras are supposed to be off anyway.

Dh is out again tonight.

Twins - Thank you for the start today.
Writing things down is vital for my ability to stay up with things. If I don't capture the thoughts, then they are gone.

We are still in our bitter cold winter phase. It is currently -4F (feels like) and IMHO not a bit of fun to be outside. The ground and roads are a mixture of ice and snow. However, there is light at the end of this coldness.....only 73 more hours until we get above freezing.

I did a little food inventory and prep this morning while cooking breakfast. Today I am adding Sweet teriyaki chicken, Smoked sausage and chicken fried steaks to our ready-to-eat stash. I'll have DD13 make one of her favorites - Cheesy Garlic biscuits. I have some chicken breast tenders thawing to make parmesan chicken. They are all frozen together in a lump so I might do that one tomorrow.

DH just reminded me of our appt with financial advisor today. HIS MEMORY IS WORKING AGAIN! I told DH that I had emailed Chad and made arraignments to meet after the storm.

So I had an unexpected thing happen...
when I was getting ready to de bone the chicken and make up soup a glass 1 C. measuring cup fell and
landed on the cast iron lid chipped the lid and the cup shattered so I had a lot to clean up on the counter so that took
extra time. 45 min. I was listening to a yt vid. and it took the whole time.
Now I have the soup simmering and it smells great in here now.
So that is good.

It's after nine & I need to put on pants still.
We are having some rain but areas South of us are getting freezing rain in Oregon.

Had my bfast before the unfortunate happenings of the broken measuring cup.
-------
Got the soup in jars after I had a cup of it got 3 jars to chill & freeze up for later.
It was excellent but I did not like the color after I added some Tom. juice.

Oh, Nancy, I hate that long cleanup of glass for you, and losing a favorite measuring cup, too. I love my glass ones - HRH does not. There is not much that can break one of them, but yep, cast iron would do it.

Hurray for LadyM's more normal day with dh and family around. Sorry about the cold.

This has, at the least, been a very inconvenient winter at our house, but maybe if looked at with statistics, I'm just including our own troubles in that estimation. They say Twins' snowfall of last night is what we expect today, too, but I've heard nothing about it going away quickly, just waiting on more.

I am putting off my cooking until tomorrow and then sitting down some. I sat to make coleslaw yesterday and it was odd but worked fine.

HRH is considering making his famous spaghetti. I'm kinda wishing for it, but I know it's hard to work up enthusiasm when it's just us and my appetite is low-ish anyway.

__________

Didn't get this posted. We did have spaghetti.
Dstepson stopped by on his way home from work and ate with us. He had been on the phone already giving us a report on the weather. Snowing with not-so-big flakes now, and it is covering the ground. We'll see.
