National Comfy Day - Thursday PWYC
According to those calendars with a day for everything under the sun, today is "National Comfy Day." With cold weather for many of us, it's an ideal time to get comfy!
"#NationalComfyDay
The word "comfy," which is short for "comfortable," is used to describe places and activities that put us at peace. Ultimately, what binds us all is the need to be at ease. Some people are pulled to a certain blanket. Some people think of a relaxing vacation. Our furry friends or a special hoodie can also contribute to our sense of well-being. The level of comfort rises even further when you add in some relaxing music and delivery of food.
The goal of National Comfy Day is to help people find their ideal level of comfort and to revel in it!"

Twins - Thank you for the start today. YES to comfy day.
It was -7F (feels like) when I went outside to start the vehicle this morning. Even though it hasn't been above freezing the roads are 75% clear now. School is back in session.
I feel like I can start getting back into some sort of normalcy today. Public school & homeschool are happening. DH seems to be stable so I am relaxing while monitoring him.

Gee, might as well get comfy here. Snow is falling. The road conditions are worrisome enough that schools are opening 2 hours late.
Dstepson came back and laid roof shingles on our back steps for traction, but we won't be headed anywhere. Good in case of delivery or visit, though.
We are hopeful for him in a decision he made to take a different position he's been offered within his company. The drive will be cut in half so his days won't be as long and the drive won't be as dreary. But he's disappointed to leave his current coworkers, with whom he has a long working relationship. A day of two from now will mark 20 years with the company for him.
Fielded a phone call from dbil, who has the day off.
Some more Desk Day has come my way.

lucylee, it seems your doctor really gave you some good info yesterday and it sounds reassuring. Sorry the whole thing was more extensive than you first thought the day would be.

Brrr! It's cold out there! I need to get out of pajamas and walk the dog but it "feels like" 12 degrees. I know some of you feel like 12 degrees is a heat wave, but not here, lol. I might have the donwannas today.
I have a workout at two, and the two bank trips today that I couldn't get in yesterday. It's very weird to do week long M-F genealogy institutes, and then do one that is one day a week. Last night I kept thinking about "tomorrow" in class. I do have some homework to do, not sure if I'll opt for the "peer review" by emailing to a group to critique.
This has been sitting here awhile. I've walked dog and am having my brunch.

Breakfast was so good. I acknowledge that I am in a rut cooking the same ingredients for breakfast over and over, but every day I marvel how good it tastes, is filling, easy to prepare, and is a great start on achieving my micro & macro nutrients daily goals. I am sure that someday I will get tired of it, but until then I'm going to continue to enjoy fried eggs, potatoes, onions, hot links, ham, and biscuits. The biscuits with strawberry preserves are for DH, but everything else we share.
I have a plan for today's food and have started prep.
I am enjoying the normal moments.

Cathy, I realize you do mostly cross stitch, but thought you might know. I'm planning to try some cursive lettering about 1 inch high onto regular cotton fabric. How many strands embroidery floss do you think? 3 ? I posted a little more about this in Arts, Crafts and Needlework thread - buying a hoop is amusing in that it costs so much to buy only one, bargains if you buy several sizes at the same time.
Got my Desk Day done. Also transposed some addresses for my address cardfile. I keep births or ages of children in certain years there, and that can be a lot of help, with correct spellings of names. With the death of a cousin of HRH's we were about to lose the names of some children, the oldest of whom has joined the Army now. So glad I redeemed that info and got it down. He's still an important young person to the family, though temporarily (?) very distant from home at this time in his life.

Comfy flannel shirt on here I have the dishes done and put away from yesterday.
Made the bed Late with my Q.T. Did a PUPA and that helped it to look better so glad I have reclaimed the table.
Thawing out a chicken pot pie to bake later. X
I put two jars of soup in the freezer & de-cluttered stuff in a box in the paint room when I did my walk about.
Got to see the sun rise before high fog or clouds rolled in not sure which.
Had a good talk with my dsis.
I am good on my steps for this part of my day.
Slight cold like symptoms have eased up this morning.
Knitting in a bit on ombre' blue / green dish cloth set this week.
Waving it ts good to see and read your posts.
Sending gentle hugs.

blessedw2 - how are you doing?
We have sunshine today! The temps are still in the low 20's but having sunshine makes a tremendous difference IMHO. I have been to the garden twice today and stayed until my hands got too cold to use. Garden = My Happy Place.
I took a deep breath and sorted a stack of legal papers dealing with the many domestic violence arrests, court decisions, guardianship and adoptions. That was such an emotional and heart-breaking experience that I dreaded looking at anything about it. However, I decided long time ago that I was going to save every detail for the kids. Someday in the future if they want to go through all of it and read for themselves the whole deal, then it is available for them. ANYway - those legal papers are now in 2 plastic tubs labeled with each of the teens name.
The alarm to get DD13 from school will be going off in about 10 minutes. i better start the vehicle and let it warm up a few minutes.
