I can't believe there's a "Simplify your Life" day but here it is, lol. https://www.daysoftheyear.com/days/simp ... -life-day/
We talked of simplifying yesterday, what ideas did you have for simplifying your life? Any changes going forward for spring? Does simplifying mean fewer events? More or less organization? What does a simple life look like to you?

I also believe that simplifying a space and going more minimal helps reduce stress - right now I have built things up again and it is time to let it go.
thank you do twins for a great start and have a great day.
have a great day every one!

Twins - Thank you for the start today.
Blessed- I agree with your wise words - simplifying a space and going more minimal helps reduce stress
I am going to continue with selecting & naming 3 simple things to do. This process keeps me moving forward and doesn't stress me to do such simple things.
This hour I selected and accomplished these 3 simple things =
** Inside - Tub of spring decorations - sort, declutter, display.
** Outside - Assemble next mini planters and cover. Spread compost, plant radish seeds
** Me - 250+ steps, fix hair (washed it a couple hours ago) and teeth care
Next up -
** Inside - Homeschool lessons with DS16
** Outside - Spread compost and plant beet seeds
** Me - 250+ steps, prepare breakfast

Re: Simplify your Life Monday PWYC
Good morning, Twins', blessed and everyone. Oh, there is LadyM - good morning.
I take some simplicity-comfort lately in the idea that I only have to do what is set before me each day. Although planning should definitely happen, of course, we don't have to address all the days out in front of us right now, or think about them all the time. I guess that is part of the "next right thing" we often chat about.
One of the things dd26 and I talked about yesterday was that we don't have to do everything. Even something seasonal that we love COULD be postponed for just one year. If overwhelmed at a time we traditionally would be putting in a lot of effort (such as my plantings of my garden beds this year), it's okay to minimize what gets done and look forward to next year.
Last afternoon and evening I had some nausea, even awakening after a few hours' sleep because of it. HRH was up, too, and found the Pepto for me (gel capsule) and I guess it helped because this morning I seem okay. I must have eaten something that was off ? But can't think of any suspects.
PODA thoughts, still in flux
We might make an errand run today with errands to bank and to tax lady.
It's trash and recycling day coming up and we'll be gone all day tomorrow, so that's something that might be done ahead.
There's some laundry I'd like to get to.
Some calls to cousins.

Re: Simplify your Life Monday PWYC
I've been feeling "off" for a few days. Woke up numerous times last night with one time having my head soaked in sweat. Difficulty swallowing/sore throat. This morning I have been to the pharmacy, he recommended going to my doctor. I now have an appointment for 11:30. Hope to feel healthier within a few days.

Re: Simplify your Life Monday PWYC
Well, today has started anything BUT simple. BUT... progress is being made. There are three men here, all discussing cutting out bad sheetrock in the ceiling... bad flooring in the bathroom... problems all around. One is gone to buy plastic to cover carpet in the study; I don't know what the other two are doing right now. I don't know how much this is going to cost... AND... the main man just told me that I will need new shingles (which I take to mean re-roofing the house) before too long. Oh my goodness... that will cost some money...
Anyway... I'm d2s, no make-up, devotional reading done, and I'm waiting for DS to call from jury duty appearance.
Hope the doctor can help, Cathy. (((HUGS)))
Blessed, I am definitely trying to minimize some of the clutter in the bedroom -- books/magazines. It was beginning to get on my nerves. How is your dh today?
I know I am going to be so sleepy by the time these guys leave.

-- excellent advice, Nancy! I will DEFINITELY be following that advice before this day is over! I'm running on approx. 5 hours' sleep right now.Rest when you can
Also excellent advice, Harriet. When these carpenters leave, I will definitely need to run some errands -- grocery store, post office. I am hoping my new Ring cameras will arrive today, and maybe these guys can get them installed also. Maybe they can get that oven light replaced also -- the one that broke off in the socket.do what is set before me each day.

Re: Simplify your Life Monday PWYC
I have trouble reconciling a "simple life" to that list of to dos that I have going, or haven't actually written down but need to. Is organized simple? Is being treasurer of HOA part of a simple life? (for the record I have nearly 1.5 years before three year term expires, however, treasurer before me did it ten years!)
I feel like I'm juggling a hundred to dos and they're all pinging in my ear today.
I've walked the ddog two laps and texted the last HOA family to pay their dues. They'll get them in this week, with the late fee, they said. Roomba is going. Our supper is either leftover Italian from Saturday night take out or chili. Texted dinner group for Saturday night here, four couples plus us. My phone will be alive with texts today.
Folded a load of laundry and put away.
Next three things (emulating LadyM)
-text/message dcousin and her dd about lunch and going to beach later in spring
-phone call to friend M (of M and S, traveling friends) - dh let me know the other day that he had talked to S and she had been ailing
-make the bed, now that the ddog is off. (Ping Alert: See if the comforter will fit in washer, it needs it. And if it falls, have to buy another. It was cheaply made tbh.)

Re: Simplify your Life Monday PWYC
((Cathy)) Get Well Soon! So good you can see a doctor today and figure this out.
blessed, also thinking of your dh in hospital this morning.
LadyM, I hope your dh's tummy is better, as mine is - it certainly stops you in your tracks to have to deal with digestive upset.
So far, we can't get ahold of the tax lady and HRH is getting testy for some reason. I know he has frustration with what times he can go out and do things, because of his own issues. It means twiddling thumbs untll we hear something and that bugs him, too. Can't just switch over to other days when we have 3 distant appt days this week. What did I just say about not trying to deal with more than one day at once, lol. Ah, the best laid plans.
Nancy, I don't have any songbird sightings to report here, but I'm sure they are not far off. We saw our groundhog scurrying, so he/she is more active now.
Ddolder wants us to put a railing at our most frequently used (back) door. We are not so sure that it won't cause more trouble than it is worth. We've been outside looking at this. It is at a screen door that must be held open to enter, so a railing might just crowd in awkwardly on the other side against those entering or against anything that needs to be brought in. Sigh. She wants to be proactive and she cares about us. Ds says a railing is not a bad thing in and of itself, and he would help do the work, but says we are grown adults who know our own minds - he warns me to remind all that it's my house, my decisions, and will be for a long time. (smile) Just a couple steps, not tall. Hmmm... .. But right now I am being counseled about muscle weakness. Also Hmmm... .. Wish there was a flashing information sign on my forehead - "she will feel strong again on X date". Wouldn't that be nice?

Re: Simplify your Life Monday PWYC
I have done some things so inspired by LM's three items one out side one inside and one for self care. I did get dressed I did take tacky stuff of the fence the dead neighbor put on that I never really liked yea! Got the floor swiffered. Two pages of journals. Did some knitting had to rip out some I did yesterday got some of it knit up again.
Mixed up the juice for later.
Got a small table out from the other shed glad for that progress on a different round. Yea!
My steps are where they need to be for this part of the day yea!
