Kittykatt, thanks for the detailed explanation about sea shanties. there are sailor songs in every country I suppose, well many types of such songs but more specifically the ones with a rhythm to coordinate the efforts in a team on a ship when heaving or other moves.

helia as long as your DH usually lives and works in the US, I would say he should be safe when re-entering the country. I hope you find reassuring answers to ease your mind.

Rainy Sunday. We had a nice evening and dinner with MrNg's payroll friends last night, the ones from his previous job who have become really good friends, even though MrNG left and another woman left the place since. The two other are still in the same place and things aren't improving for them. We talked a lot about many things and families and travels and... well it's noce to have a social life sometimes.
This morning MrNg and I spent almost an hour discussing how to be more disciplined about cleaning and organising the house, as we don't have guests often, and each time we do last-minute cleaning and it ends up with some tension between us. To avoid any more last-minute stress and not-nice things being said, we are trying to find new ways to do house chores.
I talked about Flylady several times, he knows already about the system of course . We decided to commit ourselves to 30-mns of decluttering/organizing, each week, each of us. We also discussed cleaning, and missions for kids. I like that he is as commited as I am to : - having a cleaner home, ready for social life, - avoiding situations where we have harsh words, - trying new things, "discipline" in a positive way, and exploring things together.

Thank you for the reassurance, FFB. My mind can get going sometimes; it's not helpful. Dh is not worried at all. I told him to be sure to leave and enter the US with his US passport (not his Dutch one), which he does anyway - though, once he did forget and presented the wrong passport upon re-entering. Probably. not a good idea to do that now. Sounds like a really good and productive discussion with MrNG!
I hope you've had a lovely morning at church, Kitty! Square dancing in a big barn is very fun! I did that a few times as a young person in central Illinois. Not sure it's such a thing here in Michigan.

Gma, do you now have a new sparkling necklace from your mom? Dh is writing a book with AA on how to use internet tools to look at the original biblical languages. HW = homework. He sent a sample chapter + homework for a word study in Greek to several people to see if the material is helpful. If you're interested - he is also writing a book about women in leadership in the church with AA and a student in Greek who has been accepted to Harvard for his PhD. AA just got her PhD in biostatistics; she is doing statistical analyses on the use of words and markings in the original Greek. Dh is renting a copy of the Codex Vaticanus. Yes, dh is a professor of elec. engineering. But his range of interests is very broad. LOL!

The sun is shining and it is 26*F. The high is forecast to be 42*F, so not that warm. Rain is supposed to arrive tonight.

Today, dh and I will go to church in the other city. That will have us out and about from 10 - 12:45-ish. This afternoon, I'd like to finish GGT and finish dh's chapter. I might join dh and work in a coffee shop. Perhaps, I'll go for a walk too. We're hosting dinner tonight for 8 people, I believe. M is making brussel sprouts with bacon and onion jam. She has volunteered; we don't cook on Sundays.

helian, I just had a thought that might be helpful.
Do you have any nurse friends, or school of nursing around with student who would like some$ ? Or an aide who knows her from where she is, or from the home she's going to? Seek out someone who could ride along with your mother on this long journey and pay that person well. Most transport that I'm familiar with, other than ambulance, have only the driver.

Morning all. Yuck. Snow. Wet gross warm spring snow. 2 inches that's going to be water by later morning likely.

Gma your mom can still walk the stores for a few hours? Amazing. Have to figure out how to keep my mom moving. She does ok some days and next she can barely get up off the couch. Her endure is gone.

Helian how easy it is to let the mind get away with stuff that will likely never happen.

Frenchie you have a very understanding and caring dh. Mrng is a keeper. Wanting to work together like this.

I think I will get in the shower soon. Hopefully today will be less cooking. Dad's fridge and mine are full of leftovers. Ds has bball right after church. The kids decided to go for a drive for their anniversary. So we'll see. Hopefully we can see that yet but I was kind of expecting anniversary is for them to do something together.

Dad wants to move his tv upstairs today. That will require dh to help. See what happens. Maybe while ds is at bball. He has just enough of a cold/ cough that I don't want to bring to grandpa.

Technically I could go wash the walls before I shower. Nope. It's Sunday and I need a day off. But I need the project done too.... what to do.

The show wasn’t bad helian. High School Musical would not be my first choice of shows. The sets were interesting and the scene changing flawless…. Long scene changes can be a real issue in high school shows! There were a lot of dances and the choreography was good. The acting was fine…. Everyone was about the same caliber… no stand out performers.
