Thrive on Thursday PWYC
What tools and practices keep you thriving in 2025? We can be mindful of our boundaries, plan for rest and moving our bodies, and lay off the technology and bad news. As we enter the second quarter of the year next week, what practices do we encourage and where do we cut back?
What do you find keeps you thriving these days? What's the plan going forward?

Re: Thrive on Thursday PWYC
I actually slept well last night so have more energy today. Plus it is sunny out (but I had more energy even before the sun rose.)
We are expecting an ice storm this weekend so need to make sure I have everything I need, but not too much because we are leaving next Wednesday.
I've started a list for today and already done some of them. I just heard the clock struck so need to add "update time on clock" to the list as it is 4 minutes past the hour!
Dh reports that his fever broke at 10 last night and he feels like a new man today. That said, we'll be masked and I will probably not sleep with him tonight. I will pick him up from the airport at 6:30. I have errands to run on the way.
I got out to the grocery store last night and added my meds to my vitamin dispenser but just added refill vitamin containers to my to-list since I will have to do that before I go.
I tried on the pants that arrived yesterday and two fit, one didn't so that's 2 pairs of pants to return but I'm waiting to see which jacket I'm returning before I tell A-river. The pants barely fit but since I'm trying to lose weight because I'm at a too-high level for my knees, I will keep them. I can afford to make a mistake and they'll do for now. Both are very thin but also extremely comfortable and don't bind at my thighs which is the problem with the pants I've culled from my wardrobe. Neither are overly attractive on me, but that is a function of my weight, not the pants themselves.
Next to-do, get dressed.

One of the cats woke me up at 7 a.m. I got up, got dressed and took all the compost, garbage and recycling to the street. The recycling truck has always been the first truck to pick up and it just went by now, which is later than usual.
We are also expecting the ice storm, but we are on the edge of it. I will need to pick up bread and milk. I have 2 packs of meat in the freezer in the kitchen, so I won't have to go out to the garage to get anything. We also have a load of wood in the wood box in the living room if we need to put a fire on. Other than that, I think we are prepared.

I never got to reply further yesterday.
lucylee, my thoughts had been that you were juggling many commitments and concerns and getting things done. You were worried about your confidence in facing a lot, true, but that would be expected.
Lauralind, with each day, I hope your ddad's soreness lessens and there can be more calm.
Mystery, thank you for sharing about your friend who went through cell collection and (long awaited) return of immune system health. That is encouraging.
Kathryn, sorry to hear we added another dh to the sick list! Glad that fever broke.
blessed, whew! Your dmother returning in such good spirits and "like herself" is such a happiness. Hoping dh is doing well.
Ramblin', I hope your sweetie is feeling better today.
Folks coming by today... ..
Today we expect ddil to remove my bandage. I don't look forward to that - seems like it makes such a big deal. But HRH is saying he has no confidence in doing it at all.
More brief visits from HVAC folks will happen today. Little things that had to be left undone. One box had had a part missing when they opened it, for instance.

Re: Thrive on Thursday PWYC
I personally think that my crafting and genealogy keep me going. I can't imagine how boring my life would be! And exercise - even though I often dread my workouts, they are so good me! Better energy, better mood!
I need to get moving this morning. Dcleaning lady will be here in an hour or so, and I need to be at massage therapist's at less than two hours.
This afternoon I have my workout at two. I am leaving on Sunday so lots on my list for today.
----------
And later...the ADHD is strong with this one.
Dcleaning lady here, ddog walked, dh came through after his workout, s2s-ed and headed to work. Heading out to massage therapist in a minute. Maybe he can do something about this headache I have going.

Re: Thrive on Thursday PWYC
Good morning! I am taking a break from payroll work. I am whittling down the outline, but I'm afraid I may have whittled it too far. I will see what I think after this break.
Good to see Twins is thriving, if perhaps at a quickened pace due to her upcoming trip.
You are typically a day or so ahead of us on weather, blessed, and we are expecting warmer weather but with rain. Perhaps the red skies indicate that you will have the same. We are not expecting Cathy and Kathryn's ice storms, thank heavens!
I am glad your DH is feeling better, Kathryn, and I hope you don't come down with it. Perhaps the most contagious parts are over?
I'm glad my friend's story helps, Harriet. When she was housebound, her family blew up a photograph of her to make a Flat Katie (à la Flat Stanley) to take places and then send her the photographs. Flat Katie came to a girls' night -- glass crafting and dinner out. Why we didn't think to have her join us via Zoom, I don't know.
I hope Nancy is rested despite the thunder waking her.
Time to get back to that outline.

Re: Thrive on Thursday PWYC
that is the sweetest & best Idea I have ever heard of - a flat Stanley (name of person) for when you have to stay home.
yay on whittling down your outline - hope it is perfect for you! enjoy your break
have a good day d mystery
mom just spilt a whole cup of just warm coffee on her - she sat there - laughed and then sat again to think what to do. I had to move her a long bc she was soaked. Gave her new pants and under garments - she is still in the bathroom so I have a feeling she will either be changed or come out and still be wet.
She was trying to catch one of the dogs metals bowls that were given to us this morning (by Gracie) - so we ended up with a lot of clattering _ fibber and Molly mgee's closet moment - but with metal sounds. Thanks to Gracie's morning retrieving/pick up adventures. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9FGC68YcwM
Gillie the other dog took our newly bought tart and ate it when I went to the bathroom = she took off the plastic wrap
she now officially well fed.
