Re: Monday in Management
Well I managed to get to the store yesterday, then back to bed.
And I managed to make it to the couch this morning to drink my coffee. At some point today I will need to water my sunnies.
LadyM… I think it’s grand that the kids are off on their own. Great bonding experiences for all.
Harriet… in my other homes Sweetie removed all the plants from around our home. He felt like the plant roots plus the extra water needed to keep them growing would eventually affect the foundation of our home. He was adamant about it.
Can’t do that here cause of our HOA.

((Ramblin')) hopeful that you feel well enough to water sunflowers today, and then keep getting better. Yes, that might have been the reason my uncle M kept all plants away from the house - reminds me of an old Andy Griffith show in which one side of a church's foundation was badly affected by water runoff, sunken, and they sent water on the other side to level it. Slightly silly solution for the show, but I bet the problem does happen.
lucylee, thank you for checking in with us about your dmother. Goodness, poor dgs with such tummy trouble.
Hoping Kathryn is feeling okay and Ken in Canada is clear of the symptoms.
I can't believe we are already back from the injection appt. Everything just went our way - no delays anywhere, although parking was packed. And since I've had this before, I didn't have to have the time frame of monitoring for reactions. I didn't know that would happen.
Leaving building, I chose to walk to the car, which HRH had had to park at the very farthest corner of the big building's parking lot. I felt well and just did it. Also, nurse commented that I looked well today with color in my face, more so than the other times she has seen me following treatments. Of course, maybe it is just not time to have much sickness yet. Perhaps I should hurry a lunch, to get one in me, lol.
The workmen are here, and we hear them under the house, but they are pretty much invisible. I wonder if I am supposed to write a check today.

Re: Monday in Management PWYC

A small ish branch blew out of the tree in last nites winds has been moved from our front to the side yard.
I'll put it on the work station and de limb it and break or cut it into smaller pieces to go later.
We had rain in the nite.
I'm still doing the first things for my day.
I'm trying to figure out why they played wold hall on PBS out of order last evening.
Have a great day!
Suggestion it helps me whey PWYC letters are in the subject line to spot this for me.
Took Rx & did QT
-----
Did some errands
Took a bit of a drive.
Paid prop. taxes for the year in person.
Updated auto pay in parson at a diff. office in the same building.
Counting that for desk duty this week all bills have been paid this mo.
Went to the market. Put the items away. I needed eggs and they wozers they were up $2 a doz. from the last time I got em.
Walked ddoggo with umbrelly but were between showered so I did not had to actually use it, it does scare off dogs however if you open it
suddenly.
More coffee only had one cup before I left.
Did not eat anything yet.
I will be making up some burritos to freeze up from the meat I cooked yesterday.
I needed cheese for that.
Did my monthly review & a planner reset for April.
Garden time & a m stretch X
lunch happened.

Re: Monday in Management
I'm later than usual arriving in PWYC today. I was up before alarm and have been focused on getting my primary responsibilities taken care of.
** Me - personal care, AM walk, healthy foods in correct portion size, blissfulness in the garden.
** DD13 - woke up, chatted, loaded and delivered to public school
** DS16 - homeschooled together, chatted, fed and off to work. He has called 3 times since he left.
** DH - monitoring his activities in the house & shop. DH wanted to drive to store a mile from our home to buy canned air. I agreed with him doing it because DH is well known by everyone that works there, and I know they will watch out for him. DH arrived back home only to realize that he paid for it but left the bottle of canned air at the store. He drove back to the store again to retrieve it. This is at the limits of what DH is able to do by himself. I do the risk vs reward list in wanting DH to do as much as he can to enjoy life but keeping him within confines of activities that are safe for him. As his mental abilities change so do the activities that he can do.
** Kitchen things are done.
After picking up DD13 from school this afternoon we will head to the city for appt with her counselor. I believe DD13 is coming out of her protective shell in several ways. I haven't mentioned anything about my thoughts about this and was surprised that DD13 brought it up last night during our evening walk. She knows she has blocked her memories from younger years. She said all she can remember is abuse but none of the details. I can love her and keep her safe now, but I have no knowledge or experience in how to deal with DD13 starting to remember things from years ago. I am so very thankful for her counselor guidance. Everyone has their challenges but it seems that DD13 has an overwhelming amount - being abused, being abandoned by both parents, being autistic, being a teenager with all those hormones. ***Phew*** That is a lot for a kid to process. I am hopefuly she can through this and have a happy fulfilling life.

I am checked into hotel in Richmond VA in the lap of luxury. Room is less than $200/night on a group rate but the room is a suite of two rooms. One has couch, 2 side chairs, desk, mini fridge and microwave. Other has a sumptuous king bed. Old hotel building obviously renovated. Perhaps it’s off season? ($200 a night is very expensive for my budget but major libraries are in big cities with expensive rooms. Nashville is similar rates but the room isn’t like this!

Re: Monday in Management
LadyM... I think its great that your daughter is spending more time with her brother. She is learning that his is becoming her protector as she begins to journey more into the outside social world. He has shared many of her same problems so perhaps at some point they may begin to talk about their lives before you.
I have a brother that is 15 months younger than me and our home was not a happy home growing up. I know we shared many of our feelings with each other that no one else was aware of. I was his protector.. best I could...when our father dished out his punishments with me at the age of 9 trying to stand between the two of them as my mom looked on.
As we grew into our teens, the focus was turned on to me, although the physical punishment had stopped. I wasn't bad in the way of drugs or alcohol, just hated school and dated a boy my parents didn't like after awhile. So there was lots of drama going on.
My brother made me laugh the other day when we were talking about growing up...He said for him, the best thing about being a teenager was that all the focus was on me and my parents really didn't pay any attention to HIS bad behavior, and there was plenty. LOL
When we married and had children of our own.. he has 4 to my 1...we both unknown to each other decided to raise our kids the way we wished we had been raised. We've had some very interesting conversations about that through the years. We both recognized my dad had been beaten as a child growing up and now as adults realize he raised us the way he'd been raised. However what confuses the issue is that we, my brother and I , could never understand why my dad would want to continue the cycle since we also know how much it hurt my dad to be raised like that. Forgiveness on my part is something I struggle with and most likely is the reason I ended up working with troubled kids, cause when I would say I understood how they felt I did.

Re: Monday in Management
Twins', sometimes the accommodations turn out oddly nice on trips. The price sounds like one of those "that's just what things cost" price. Enjoy the lap of luxury and learn a lot.
My tummy turned on a dime. Ugh. Jello, applesauce are both left uneaten tonight. It is what it is. It forces me to take medicine that makes other symptoms worse, picking my poison. Today we ordered a box of drinks that are supposed to be good for this. I called and cleared it with dr since some of the reviews mentioned that all drs don't recommend. We'll see.
I am wondering about those we didn't hear from today, but they could have a lot going on.

Re: Monday in Management
I'm here, Harriet! Reporting in from my crazy life...
And sending (((HUGS))) for stomach issues. I don't have the cause of trouble that you are experiencing, and I am not nauseated, but it surely does seem like I have needed a lot more Imodium the past few days. Maybe just stress induced. (And I'm sure my trouble is not related to dgs' issues, although he was still throwing up today and will stay home tomorrow also. I don't think his has anything to do with stress -- he thinks he's fine, eats, and up it comes. I think he just needs to be very consistent with his Nexium, and he missed last Friday and Saturday.)
Party for dbil and dsisil
was very nice. I ate Tuscan chicken for the first time and it was sooo good! (They had a choice of about 4 or 5 meals we could order.)
Funeral for dh's cousin-in-law was nice. Does that sound crazy? She was a super sweet lady and very accomplished, and I felt the service did her justice. I did not stay for the meal afterwards, although another cousin told me they wanted me to. I told them just to make my apologies for sick dgs who was alone at my house.
AND -- (this is a good thing) dmom believes that she SHOULD go to rehab for the 21-day period she has "earned." Her first choice (which is near the hospital) is unavailable -- they are not taking any admissions because there is some sort of virus raging and they are calling in infectious disease people to clear it out. Dmom gave our local nursing home/rehab center as her first choice, saying it would be much easier on me, and then her second choice is the facility where ddil works. It is about 30 minutes away, but really no worse than the one she would have picked (where the virus is.) DDIL nixed the 3rd choice, also in same town where hospital is. She says she has received a lot of patients with bedsores from that facility and she just has no confidence in their care. So, I am praying that surely one of the two better choices will be available.
I don't know when she will be dismissed. They changed her antibiotic today, after further results from bloodwork, I guess, and I am sure they will have to clear her from this before either place will take her. And the pulmonologist STILL has not come by to see her! That is extremely aggravating!
They are telling her that she will have oxygen at home, "as needed." So at least she doesn't have to be on it 24/7. She has chronic asthma, and I think sometimes she aspirates food which may cause the pneumonia also. They said something about doing a swallow test today.
She does seem to be feeling better than she did last Friday, but she said herself, "I'm not going to bounce back from this overnight," when she was discussing going to rehab.
Anyway, it all combines to make me somewhat tense in general, and tired, with the running back and forth from home to Next Town where the hospital is. Today I cancelled the surgery and the pre-reg appt, stopped at her house to get potassium capsules (which she hopes they will let her take instead of the very large tablets the hospital pharmacy provides) and I put a load of sheets in her dryer (housekeeper had left them in the washer Saturday.) Stopped at Wmart to get her some Poise pads and a small pair of scissors (because some things are hard for her to open.) I've also talked to my aunt, dmom's neighbor, dbro, and dmom's pastor via text... along with the usual calls to ddil.
Here at my house, I have managed to do my laundry today and paid a bill... filled up the car with gas... (at the expensive place because both Wmarts were literally having traffic jams at their gas pumps and I didn't have the patience to wait.
) Treated myself to Chick-Fil-A. I did 15 min Walk Away the Pounds.
I'm still working on Sunday's card and the weekend newspapers. I hope I can stay home tomorrow.
Have a great time, Twins! It sounds wonderful. I wonder if I will ever be confident enough to travel on my own.
I agree that it is great for your ds and dd to be doing these "outings" together, LadyM. I just want to give dd a (((BIG HUG))). It's a hard age.
I'm so glad the appointments went well, Harriet.
Waving to ALL!!!
