Wednesday Energy

Post by Harriet »

It's mid-week. Do you know where your energy is? :)

Several have mentioned here they've been wanting more of that stuff!

Can you relate to that?
What are your best tips about energy?
When (or after making sure of what) do you feel plenty of energy?

If you had more energy, what would you do with it? Does that inspire you?

Enjoy your energetic Wednesday!

Thank you for starting us today, Harriet. It's lunch time here, so I'm currently feeling very lazy sitting on a folding chair in my tiny front garden to enjoy the sun, but I have been very energetic this morning, decluttering, tidying and running the hoover round, as well as dead heading my pots on the patio.
Y tips for when I'm feeling drained and exhausted: when did I last eat, and *what* did I last eat? Do I need to eat something now? And, most important, IMHO, *when* did I last drink some water? For me, dehydration is the No1 cause of tiredness and lack of energy.

Hi!

Another sort of busy day here. I need to email my brother with a list of stuff, and I need to do that before I go out anywhere.

I have a water delivery coming today. They usually come later in the day.

Dryer repair guy might call today if he gets the part.

I have to go to the bank and I also have to get some groceries.

No idea what is for supper yet.

We're still "busy" with outdoor doings here. The workmen say they have to come back one more time because they ran out of materials, not quite enough - won't take a check until they are finished. We expect them sometime this morning.

Hope your repair progress happens today, too, Cathy.

Lauralind, I didn't know a samoyed could reach 70 pounds ("of hugs and muscle", lol). You certainly have interesting, varied work, although right now in spring it sounds exhausting. You must have a lot of "Jane of All Trades" knowledge on how-to.

((lucylee)) you need a calm day, good rest. I see your worry about your dmother jumping to the conclusion that product would be a good idea for her with all the preparations and constant upkeep. What about an ordinary bedside potty to help at night. As reluctant as I was about a bedside potty for just one day recently, I must admit, changing a bedroom around for one of those to help in the night might be better than beginning a whole new technical regimen. Lots less cost.

Ddolder says she and the birthday boy plan to stop by tonight to bring us birthday cake she made for his small celebration - we won't attempt that. I have a favorite-book present here for him.

Next grands bday is in ds' family and he says a game carrier/storage mini-suitcase is desired. We ordered that online and expect it today, so if I feel creative some gift wrapping may happen. Gee, I hope it is boxed already and not a loose bag.

Energy, to me today, is an amazement at how much of an off-and-on switch nausea can be. When you've got it? Got no energy. Get rid of it? Feel energetic. Last evening I couldn't have thought of staying upright, today seems to have possibilities.

You're right, Kittykatt, lots of facets of our lives can have some light shed on them when we ask, "What have I been eating?" and "What hydration have I been getting?"

I've had my new drink this morning (electrolytes, amino acids), at full amount, then waited a half-hour as instructions say and had a very tasty apple. Yes, it was an appetizing apple and tasted like an apple, lol, so this is positive.

That 8 ounces does NOT answer my hydration needs for this time of day, so remembering to head for the water again, then brunch.

Good morning!

I do try to recognize and appreciate having a good energy level. Sometimes I tend to take having high energy for granted so when a low energy moment arrives it gives me a good reminder.

The same way I need to keep aware and thankful for when the day proceeds smoothly between activities. I don't want to need a remind of drama in order to appreciate smooth running day.

I am experiementing with using OneNote mobile more effectively. It allows me to capture thoughts on the move instead of carrying pen/paper with me. So far I am liking it. It has advantages over pen/paper in that it also capture pictures and using voice recording when I can't write or type. One thing that is a barrier to doing this is the stylus is stuck in my phone (note 8). I can't get the stylus to release so I can write on the screen. But that has prompted me to learn how to use voice to text which is faster and easier. It is a learning curve for me. My phone is 8 years old so it probably needs to be replaced. I have resisted changing phones because it keeps on working and I like old things (like me!!!) lol

(((LucyLee)))) Rest when you can. I'm thinking about you during this time of extra care with your DMom and the approaching 1 year anniversary of you being a widow. I haven't heard of Purewick but did a deep dive to check it out in case it is something that DH could use. It is an interesting option but wouldn't work for his need. Thanks for sharing about it and I am looking forward to your DMom decision on potential use in her future.

Harriet I don't know if the state you live in has legalized a certain drug, but have you considered asking your doctor about medical marijauna?

Water has been delivered, so I can go to the bank and do other errands. I posted something on Facebook, if anyone is interested.

Back from a busy morning…

Back from the allergy dr. No environmental allergies but he is sending me to have a nasal scan. I know where this is leading.. ugh. Also he thinks my coughing at night is caused by my acid reflex and has ordered meds for that.

Put in many more hours with my DAR patriot search. Think I’m done. Sent info to the gal who is checking it to see if I’ve missed any thing. I have 3 wedding certificates I could not make good copies of. One is 150 yrs old. Took them to Office Max and they were able to help making better copies. I worked another 5 hours with it yesterday so that makes 18 hours in just 3 days doing this research.

Hope Twins is having a great time with her research.

I got the kitchen food updated with decisions about what to cook today. I am trying to keep food available for everyone but leave the decision of what and how much to eat up to the individual. I am not going to be the food police to the teens. IMHO, they are old enough to decide what to put into their bodies, they have the knowledge of what they should eat and reap the consequences of their good or poor decisions. This is a lifelong skill they need to learn. My "job" is to provide a healthy selection and variety of food for them to choose from.

I have been to the garden 5 times this morning to soak up the sunshine and blissful feelings I experience when i am there. The predicted storms last night didn't happen here becausee the cap held until the front was past us. The storms did have tornadoes once they got started that affected other parts of my state. The garden did receive about 1/2 inch rain which happened nice and calm.

Yes, Ramblin' and it's interesting to find you had help from Office Max like that for your research - I didn't know they could help.

Cathy, each spell of this is so temporary - at least, that's the mindset the doctor seems to have kept. If - and that's a big if - this fourth time's reaction is almost over, I only have the treatments at the end of the month to go, and they are considered together, even though over more than one day. After they finish, the symptoms will hit me one hard time while I'm inpatient and I've been told the symptoms will be flu-like, different.

So glad you didn't have extremely harsh weather, LadyM. Many others in the path with high chances of hardship, I hear.

Smoke detector started chirping so HRH and I teamed up and changed the battery. At first it kept chirping - hmmm - but has stopped, so that must have been it.

The present did arrive (neatly boxed, yay), so gift wrapping will probably happen.

Had ordered some refills for the Swiffer duster wand. They arrive and are a knock-off brand - I must have missed that? Hope I don't regret it.

Oh. Now I see. The name brand was obscured in the photo and the packaging looks just like Swiffer. I notice on Swiffer now it says "Official by Swiffer" across the top of the package. Price is basically the same - I would have bought the one I know.
