To keep things diverse, I give you:

Walter Herbert Withers (22 October 1854 – 13 October 1914), an English-born Australian landscape artist and a member of the Heidelberg School of Australian impressionists!

Withers was born on 22 October 1854, at Handsworth, the son of Edwin Withers. He showed an early desire to paint, but objection was made to this by his father. It is not known what occupation he followed in England, his father objected to his becoming a professional painter.

In 1882, he arrived in Australia with the intention of working on a farm. After working for about 18 months on a farm, Withers removed to Melbourne and obtained a position as draughtsman in a firm of printers. During the period of his black and white work, Withers executed, in chalk, portraits for reproduction, that of the Count von Bismark being an especially fine example of his work in this direction. In his spare time Withers sought to cultivate his art, and eventually had work accepted for exhibition in the Old Academy, Melbourne.

In 1887, Withers went to Europe, and there he married Fanny Flinn in October of that year. He and his wife settled in a small flat in Paris and he studied for some months at the Académie Julian.

He returned to Australia with his wife in June 1888 having been commissioned to do black and white work for Messrs Fergusson and Mitchell of Melbourne. His most important work in this way will be found in the illustrations to Edmund Finn's, The Chronicles of Early Melbourne.

Withers settled down at first at Kew, a suburb of Melbourne, and then in Eaglemont on the other side of the river Yarra. He became friendly with Arthur Streeton, Charles Conder, Tom Roberts, Frederick McCubbin and other leading artists of the period. He began to sell a few pictures, but the collapse of the land boom put an end to his illustrative work. In 1890, Withers and his family moved into Charterisville Estate in East Ivanhoe. In 1903, they moved for the last time to Eltham, to a timber house on the corner of Bolton and Brougham Streets. Here, Withers added a studio, where he painted many works featuring the local landscape

Another new-to-me artist! Thank you trissie.

I'm here earlier than usual as I need to be otd earlier than usual - at 8 a.m. Mom's first appointment with UM geriatrics is today.

Yesterday, I accomplished all my goals - except for the jog, of course. If I hadn't needed to get dinner on the table early for dh, I would have jogged instead - and dinner would have been later. I did go for a short walk in the evening. Also, the document is not e-signed, but I can't find it/ the link didn't arrive in my inbox.

Today: This morning will be spent with Mom at the doctor's appointment - and in transportation to and from it. This afternoon, I hope to get to Kroger and go for a jog and make progress on my brain dump list.

It will be gray and in the 50s all day long. There might be rain late this afternoon.

Main Goals for Today:
1. Mom's Doctor appointment
2. Kroger
3. Jog
4. email reply to EP
5. Finally get that document signed for the NH?
6. Can I finish going through Mom's stuff?
7. Dinner: pasta (haven't decided which sort), zucchini and bok choy (2 leftover veggies I need to use up)

Next:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- print out legal docs for the appointment

Later:
- some qt
- reclaim kitchen
- make the bed
- gather things for the appointment: notebook, documents, insurance card, laptop
- otd @ 8 a.m.
- van arrives at 8:30; help get Mom in
- Dr. appointment: arrive by 9 a.m.
- 9:20 appointment
- back to the NH
- find director - can I sign the document?
- home; lunch
- change to jog
- jog
- can I go pick up my water bottle which I left at the school yesterday?
- lists in notebook
- menu plan and groc. list
- Kroger
- put everything away
- email EP
- finish going through Mom's stuff
- start her change of address cards now that she's been here for a month  (I already let cousins + her church know)
- dinner: pasta (probably plain with homemade tomato sauce), leftover veggies
- after dinner clean up
- recycling and garbage to the curb
- duo
- update health apps: MFP and WW
- other things on my brain dump?

TaDas!
- up and weighed self

Good morning. Trissie that had to be so traumatic to see that accident. Conversation is important. We once happened upon one right after it happened. We were the car behind the driver who hit this small child. I spent days trying to find an article about it. We thought someone had hit a dog but realized that was a little white socks foot. I still think about it, especially when we drive that road.

Well yesterday I forgot I had to fill pills and exterminator were coming and we had to pick up stuff and dh had emptied my school supplies in my car onto his side of garage and we had to pick those up so desk activities got delayed.

I did do 3 work out classes. I was tired. Heading over now for gentle yoga and zumba, later tonight I will do Shallow water aerobics.

I am planning to do the desk activities today which will check off a lot.

Good morning! ☀️
I really enjoy the artists and their information, to realize they were alive not all that long ago, people are amazing and can be so creative.

Trissie, hope your day has been going well!
Kittykatt, hope you’re well and just busy.
Helia, hope all goes well with dmom and transport/appointment.
Hi costume lady.
Hi LAnn.
Hugs KitKat and dpup. Will she get to come home today or stay overnight? Does your vet give pain meds? I’ve had both and regret not getting meds for one of my dogs. She did fine in the long run but I do wish I had made her more comfortable at the time. It was in the age of “if they have meds they will overexert and hurt themselves”, lesson learned.

The neighbors must be moving cattle or something, was woken early to a big truck in their field. Trees block the view (our choice) so couldn’t really tell what they were doing. They used to be in the beef business but I think they only raise a few for personal use now…

Lots to do today since the rain hindered progress yesterday. Onward and upward!

Good morning/ good afternoon, everyone!

Thank you for the start, Trissie!

Helian, I hope your DMum's appointment is positive and productive.

CL, you're certainly using your time well, with a all that exercise!
KitKat, it always difficult when our pets undergo medical procedures, even when they're planned. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for DDog. Is she having a laparoscopic spay, or the conventional method?

Enjoy the library, L.Ann, and I'm sure Little Bit will enjoy jumping in the puddles!

Bama, it's been one of those days! I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but I can't imagine anyone performing major surgery on any animal and not giving them good pain relief afterwards - it sounds inhumane, even with the laparoscopic/ keyhole spay that's becoming more popular for dogs over here. Jude was spayed the day before we adopted her, and was given a buprenorphine injection by the vet and we were prescribed meloxicam to give her at home. I know she's a cat, :D but dogs must feel pain in a similar way too.

I'm late to the party today. Freddie is taking longer than usual to be back to his usual self after sedation, and also has some tummy issues. He had to have a deeper sedation than usual, with an extra top up just before his x-rays , so he didn't wake up and attack the vet when his hips were being positioned! However, he is eating the GI pouches with enthusiasm, so I'm hoping he's on the mend. I had a good chat with his vet when she rang - as I guessed, his right hip has deteriorated a bit more, but not too much. His bloods were mostly ok, except his potassium nis a little low. She thinks it's probably just a blip with the machine, as his kidney function is good, and he's not showing any symptoms of a deficiency, but just an keep an eye on him.

And then my big hoover that I use downstairs decided to die spectacularly yesterday (think motor burning out  ), so I'm currently hauling the smaller one I use upstairs up and down stairs, until the new one arrives (hopefully sometime today). Fortunately, most of the shops still had their online bank holiday sales.

DH has gone to the office, leaving me to deal with a convalescent Freddie and a wildly jealous Matilda, who is, shall we say, acting up. Jude, bless her, is being the usual good girl. :D

This morning has mostly been spent encouraging Freddie to eat (he refused to eat his usual breakfast, but I think he's getting enough calories from the GI pouches) taking him for a walk, and preventing Matilda from stealing his food, playing with a bee that somehow got in the house, and trying to turn the sheets on the spare room bed into a "nest". But, I have managed some garden time, and Freddie is currently asleep on the sitting room carpet. :D

Morning all. Helian I hope the appointment is informative and productive. I still think you did a great thing moving her closer as it seems she is still much more alert and such.

Hi lann and kitkat.

Cl I hope you are enjoying your time. Just a few days in but I think you're doing well. Desk day is good.

Garden day here. I did the tomatoes and peppers etc at dad's the other day but I forgot to bring the seeds and potatoes. That's today's job. Potatoes. Carrots beans corn and a few beets. Hopefully it works. I think I bought too many potatoes but maybe not.

If I get all the planting done I will call that good. I'm already tired and sore a bit cause goodness the amount of freight. Work is just busy these days. And the drama stuff from a few weeks ago? Well that all came to a head last weekend and the older guy we had... he was a great worker but he had attitude issues and couldn't work with people. He is gone... feels less intense but now I have 3 20 year old girls and 2 17 year old boys running seasonal. I dunno if that's going to work without me staying on top of it... not my responsibility to keep them working. Kids.. is all I can say🙂

Anyway dh is otd asap and I should get moving. A few routines and school run and I should just go straight there.

Shower
S&s both baths and reboot laundry
Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some

Empty and reload dw
Finish tidying kitchen all the way
Check out my plants and water them
School run
Grocery store for dad on the way
Maybe get more carrots seeds
