Good morning/ good afternoon, everyone!
Thank you for the start, Trissie!
Helian, I hope your DMum's appointment is positive and productive.
CL, you're certainly using your time well, with a all that exercise!
KitKat, it always difficult when our pets undergo medical procedures, even when they're planned. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly for DDog. Is she having a laparoscopic spay, or the conventional method?
Enjoy the library, L.Ann, and I'm sure Little Bit will enjoy jumping in the puddles!
Bama, it's been one of those days! I don't mean to sound disrespectful, but I can't imagine anyone performing major surgery on any animal and not giving them good pain relief afterwards - it sounds inhumane, even with the laparoscopic/ keyhole spay that's becoming more popular for dogs over here. Jude was spayed the day before we adopted her, and was given a buprenorphine injection by the vet and we were prescribed meloxicam to give her at home. I know she's a cat,

but dogs must feel pain in a similar way too.
I'm late to the party today. Freddie is taking longer than usual to be back to his usual self after sedation, and also has some tummy issues. He had to have a deeper sedation than usual, with an extra top up just before his x-rays , so he didn't wake up and attack the vet when his hips were being positioned!

However, he is eating the GI pouches with enthusiasm, so I'm hoping he's on the mend. I had a good chat with his vet when she rang - as I guessed, his right hip has deteriorated a bit more, but not too much. His bloods were mostly ok, except his potassium nis a little low. She thinks it's probably just a blip with the machine, as his kidney function is good, and he's not showing any symptoms of a deficiency, but just an keep an eye on him.
And then my big hoover that I use downstairs decided to die spectacularly yesterday (think motor burning out

), so I'm currently hauling the smaller one I use upstairs up and down stairs, until the new one arrives (hopefully sometime today). Fortunately, most of the shops still had their online bank holiday sales.
DH has gone to the office, leaving me to deal with a convalescent Freddie and a wildly jealous Matilda, who is, shall we say, acting up. Jude, bless her, is being the usual good girl.
This morning has mostly been spent encouraging Freddie to eat (he refused to eat his usual breakfast, but I think he's getting enough calories from the GI pouches) taking him for a walk, and preventing Matilda from stealing his food, playing with a bee that somehow got in the house,

and trying to turn the sheets on the spare room bed into a "nest". But, I have managed some garden time, and Freddie is currently asleep on the sitting room carpet.
