Thriving Thursday PWYC
How 'bout not just surviving but Thriving today? What things are you doing that support thriving?
For me, it's been some creative time lately with stamping, and some alone time with dh out of town. And body work to soothe out some kinks in this old body, and keep it aligned. And workouts, to support strength building in my old age.
For LadyM, it is her garden, likewise for bw2 when she has time. When she's up to it, Harriet makes quilts, and there's lots of other creative pursuits here.
It's fun to share the ways to support ourselves emotionally and physically!

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
I've been kinda busy and tired again the last week or so and have posted bare minimum. Work is insane. And too much freight. Plus grad this weekend for my nephew. I can't remember what I did last Saturday. Oh wait I baked for church. Did music and something was in the afternoon. Why do I forget now...
My thriving? Podcasts while I walk. Garden. And yesterday was my first time babysitting my almost 4 months old grandson. We had so much fun.
Lots still going on here. Life just seems to catch up and balance a bit and then it gets busy with something else. This weekend is almost too much again. Work Friday. I can't get out of it cause so many others are involved in grad too. I'll miss the ceremony of grad. A family dinner Friday night. Grand march is Saturday afternoon. And my aunt (mom's sister ) and her new husband will be here for the weekend I think. Plus a guest in church again but I won't do music.
Dad is recovering nicely I think and settling in to a better routine seems like. Only once in a while calling for help. Mom is pretty stable but very much spending time in bed. They have been able to get out more as mom has a new anxiety med to help with riding in vehicle and excitement etc. She does do odd things like get up at midnight and then apparently she decided to cook an egg or two right on the stove no pan
.... hmmm . This is new.. when I stayed with her she was in bed by 8 and slept straight through to late morning.
Anyway Lots to do. I better get in the shower.

Thank you for that lovely start today Twins' Mom!
I hope to thrive today.
Compost is out at the end of the driveway. It's overcast here today. I think it's going to rain, but there is also a smoke advisory in effect.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Good morning!
It is a good day to have a good day. That's my story and I'm sticking with it.
Routines are done or in progress.
** Done! Personal care (shower, teeth, face, hair)
** Done! AM walk
** Done! Kitchen opened (Daily drinks, meds, nuts & fruit portions, dog food)
SHE card status =
** 14 completed
** 18 to do
This is a great time to be a weather person in my little corner of the world. All they have to do is pick a number that starts with a 9 for the daily temperature. They are almost guaranteed to be accurate within a few degrees. Our 10 day forecast is a range of 93F - 98F temps.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Glad to see Lauralind checking in today.
Think the heat yesterday took a lot out of me, I went to bed early but the hip was aching. I put one of those icy hot stick on pads on it and it helped some. Dh off to work this a.m. We'll eat out tonight and have invited dneighbors next door. We haven't caught up with them in awhile.
Forwarded an email re: pool wi-fi and phone and asked for a volunteer to make a decision.
I'm moving more slowly today after feeling rushed around yesterday. There's some self care.
Dog is walked, need my brunch next.
Hot hot hot, LadyM. Glad you're set for a good day! We're in upper eighties most days but I suffer there. The boat was cool as long as we were moving yesterday.
WTG on the compost Cathy!
And Nancy survived the hot flash and has decluttered also!
Yes, I feel this way sometimes, even with how little I have going on most days.Life just seems to catch up and balance a bit and then it gets busy with something else.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Lauralind, I'm sure you are pleased that your parents' days have settled down. Hmmm... .. sorry to hear about those eggs!
Little markers pointing to THRIVING have been all that laundry folding and put-away yesterday, just the way I like it done.
Also continuing to appreciate my new walking shoes. Eating wisely and having the strength for the kitchen work it takes to do so.
I'm at home rather than out and about.
It dawned on me that dgs and HRH could have some quality time together if I stayed home. So they are on their way without me. HRH will get gas in the car on the way back to be ready for more trips Fri and Mon.
HRH and I were amused at the rabbits who love staying around and under our vehicles. Two were there today and he had to coax/scare them to get away and not be hit. He tossed a half-peeled apple to them. I don't like to get too "attached" because there are so many predators.
I've had a smoothie brunch.
Next Up is kitchen spif.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Another adjustment has been made in our daily life with DH declining mental ability.
Back story ....A few years ago when DH retired, he volunteered to take over washing all dirty dishes. After being the primary dirty dish washer for over 40+ years of our marriage, I was not sad about that! DH is very diligent about keeping the kitchen sink clear of dirty dishes and running the dishwasher when it gets full. It has been such a blessing to me, and I have totally enjoyed the experience.
However, a couple of days ago I noticed and realized the dishwasher had been run 3 times that day. Hum...I hadn't cooked, and we have been using some paper products, plus we ate out that day....so what was being washed? I didn't say anything but just remained observant. The next day I didn't cook, and we ate out, but DH still ran the dishwasher twice that day. The dishwasher ran 5 times in 48 hours, but the cabinets were getting sparse on clean dishes.
I don't know exactly what DH was doing but it wasn't headed in the direction we needed. I brought it to DH attention what had been happening, and he was not aware. DH still wants to be the dirty dish guy, so we agreed to stop using the dishwasher and start teaming up to hand wash the dishes. I am putting a sign on the dishwasher to not use it (DH won't remember our conversation about it tomorrow). I don't know if hand washing will be a solution to enable DH to keep doing the dishes, but we will try and see what happens.
On the flip side, something that happened this morning that made me smile. DH had French Toast this morning and exclaimed "These are so good! I haven't had them in years, and they are wonderful" I didn't tell DH that he has eaten French toast several time recently. It makes me happy to watch him enjoy life.
I laid out a 12'x15' area and applied the Tidy, Sort, Declutter, Deep Clean and inventory steps to everything inside that arbitrary perimeter. It wasn't a cluttered area, but did have a few things to decide and process. Then the deep cleaning happened. It was finished with about an hour of focus and effort.

Re: Thriving Thursday PWYC
Thriving spots for me today were an excellent church service this morning and time spent with friends afterwards. Also Jude (our little black cat) had her monthly weight check at weight loss clinic, and has lost 100g (4oz)..She still had a way to go, but every gram counts. And I had also booked Jude's "summer smile" dental check. After Matilda's experience last Saturday, I was worried.aboit what they would find, but Jude passed with flying colours. Apparently she has a "very good" mouth ,.and her teeth and gums are "very nice".
A huge relief! She was also a little angel and behaved impeccably. (I am used to Freddie's frankly appalling behaviour each month when he goes form his arthritis injection, so having a cat that actually behaves is quite a novelty.)
Matilda's dental surgery has had to be postponed until Wednesday,.as the dental machine at the vets went bang today.
Which probably works for the best, as it meams I won't be so rushed tomorrow morning, and we won't need anyone to babysit her in the evening when we go out to dinner (I won't leave them on their own when anyone has had a GA that day).
Also, the rain has finally.stopped.today, and the sun has come out.

Glad the sun is out for you, Kittykatt! You are worthy of your online name with your attention to your kitty-children.
I'm amazed at how much some good stretching and a workout did for me. It's my left gluteal muscles hurting, my hip of course. Much much improved as of right now - of course it was improved also after my body work and then tightened back up.
I conveniently had an email from Intuit offering 20% off on checks and need some for the HOA so I went ahead and ordered. That's one thing that's been on my list for a few days.
I need to walk the dog and then s2s again.
