Good morning!

Twins - Thank you for the start today.
LadyM how do you freeze your strawberries or other berries from your garden?
I wash, core and cut them up into slices and sometimes in chunks. Then I freeze in single layers before putting the frozen strawberries into freezer bags so they are easy to use.. Most days I get about 1/2 cup of frozen strawberries out of the freezer to use on Greek yogurt & cottage cheese. The teens use the frozen strawberries as a base for a quick dessert covered with hershey syrup and cool whip spray.
LadyM, how have you done with your quiet day?
Boredom that turned into frustration and eventually turned into learning new-to-me things. I already knew that I am not geared to being still, so my struggles to remain still were expected.
I don't know how to do being still and I don't sleep during the day, so I didn't know what to do with the time. I caught up on my Ytube channels that I enjoy watching. Ariver prime provided a series about JFK and Jackie that helped to pass a couple hours.
Then I made a discovery that allowed me to move. I learned that if I walk V-E-R-Y slowly that I don't have hip pain. Once I made that discovery then I was mobile again. Also walking very slowly results in tricking the Fbit device so it doesn't record steps.
One day accomplished. Three more days to go in my experiment to give hip pain a break in hopes that it heals itself.

d lady good morning as well.
I used to say that boredom for the kids was not a bad thing at all - it spurs one on to trying new things/learning new things. good for you that you were able to see your video on JFK
so happy that your hip didn't hurt when moving slowly. praying your hip pain subsides soon!
what does your dr. say?
yay on your cards

hello to everyone! May your day be full of joyful dancing.

I have a goal today of watering everything bc it will be 95 tomorrow - which is horrible to me. today it will be 85
I also need to wash the dog pool and bird baths and change out the bird feeder.
make dinner

helper called me when mom was ready to walk - very good. dd's are still in the process of looking.

I learn a lot about myself when I work with new people.

I have realized that, as I age, my tolerance for people who fib/exaggerate highly is getting smaller - I have to work on that - it's not about me - I don't need to correct anyone. it's their life.
I don't have to be around it but I don't have to react to it.

Yesterday helper told the pt that she had a patient in the hospital in 2004 while the pt worked there - she told her that she was the one helping with her patient - she said she was a nurse and worked at a local hospital for 8 years. - day before yesterday she said she worked full time taking care of a man, in his home, for a couple years from 2004 on. I think it's her way to connect to others.

I am listening to her now and she kept telling me, before, that her mom was an English professor - today she said her mom was a cosmetologist - doing hair etc. and her business became big in Saudi Arabia. I really struggle with all the stories.
I don't understand why she does that - There has to be something underneath that causes it. I have been trying to figure it out.

I said nothing and just listened.

I'm off to work again in a bit. Hoping to be busy today making progress. Yesterday was short in the back section so I ended up taking the back desk.

Mmmmm. I should get cottage cheese.
I also have a freezer full of frozen strawberries. Ice cream is good. If I get caught up one day I can make jam. Some will go to dd when we go there. But cottage cheese and berries for breakfast, mmm.

My house looks a bit better. Sort of. The kids coming the other day made me at least stash my music and misplaced plants off the big table. Mopped the floors and that helped a lot. Maybe I will have energy to do something when I get home?

That sounds really confusing blessed. I imagine she's probably good at her job. Just one that likes to take credit for a lot and over tries to be useful in the wrong ways. Maybe I'm way off. Respect for your wishes is a big deal.

I wish I could figure out a way to get more care for mom and dad from a caretaker but dad has determined he's going to care for mom till the end. I dunno if he can. It's getting really hard already. She can be pretty stubborn too not wanting to go places. And a lot of work and responsibility. Moreso over time. There are some things available but he's made it clear that those are not his choices. He kinda would like a live in but I don't think there is the right person for that either. He then just has to do it and I can only help when I can. Unless he finds something on his own. Just how it is.

I need to get moving, although I've already knocked a few things off my list. I allowed myself to sleep in this morning - I've needed to be up and busy the last three mornings, and will be up and out tomorrow also for the bar mitzvah.

We each had 1/2 our entree left last night when we went out. I chose something else - not veal parm this time - so we didn't share. I also had roasted broccoli left over. I will probably call that our dinner tonight, perhaps with a green salad?

Heading out for errands, grocery, post office, bank. return at michaels. Lots more on my list for today, lol.

We have 2 more days of feels like temperature being over 100F and then it will drop back into the 90's. It is partly a mental thing with me. Is 101F really much hotter than 99F? Nah. But adding a triple digit to the temperature number makes me think so.

Moving slowly and deliberately for the WIN today!! As I s-l-o-w-l-y take a step, I can feel each muscle that is being used. By intentionally focusing on the muscles being used in slow motion, it lets me know which muscles are being mis-used (IMHO). I can then change the way I am taking steps. It is a slow process of learning and implementing changes. FBit has only recorded 85 steps today even though I have been all over the house several times and out in the garden.
I looked online for some basic pointers to make sure I was doing them-
** Keep your back straight, avoiding slouching or leaning forward or backward.
** Keep your hips level and avoid twisting them excessively.
** Step heel-to-toe, rolling from heel to toe with each step.
** Point your feet straight ahead, keeping them aligned with your shoulders.
** Avoid excessively long strides, which can strain your joints.
Sooooo simple but apparently, I haven't been doing these things when I walk. I am in the process of training myself to do them.
Walking 101 class is in progress. :)

I have been busy adulting this morning. I went and got 6 quarts of "local" Canadian strawberries to make jam with. I was lucky enough to also get pectin at the same store. Normally it's hard to find in a regular grocery store. I asked a cashier and she told me where it might be, and sure enough... there it was. (In the baking aisle) When I went through her cash later, she saw the pectin and said she normally tells people they would have better luck finding it at Canadian Tire, which always has a huge area for bottles and almost everything else needed for canning other than the actual food item going into the bottle. LadyM thank you for letting me know how you deal with strawberries.

I also went to a nearby city to deal with even more paperwork. I can't file the last part until after my next birthday. This is all paperwork that the government needs before I turn 65.
I also got a bit of gas in my car and I went to a bank to pay 3 bills.

So... adulting is done for the day! Too bad I can't stay home for a nap. I'm off to Fibre Fridays at a local quilt/yarn shop. (Imagine between 2 and 20 women getting together to knit or crochet or cross stitch and everyone is talking.
