Remember the house fairy days? How wonderful it would be to have a house fairy to do clean up for us - or an elf? Today is International Fairy Day so it sparked that memory!
What would your house fairy be doing today to simplify your life?

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
What sparked my imagination about the House Fairy was another set of eyes you could trust like a sister (smile) gazing upon your house with honesty and ideas. This is what I used to get, a little bit, when I was keeping up two houses and dstepdil cleaned some for me. I would specifically ask her to be brutally honest about what she saw that bothered her and how she would correct it.
Also, I think it's what we would be aiming for when we mused about taking a photo (I've actually done this and I think I remember others have reported here that they have, too - blessed?) and then "seeing" the area of the house in the photo with a photographer's eyes.
I think I'm going to let HRH go by himself to his gen prac appt. Always in the past I went along, and I think I was helpful at the new specialist appt, although he may not even see that fellow again. But I felt unwell yesterday evening and was pretty much on the sick list with - maybe - some kind of blood sugar issue, we weren't sure. I don't want to just be dead weight on his arm when he's trying to remember everything he's supposed to say. Also, since our gen prac is also my dr I fear the conversation will start to revolve about my medical stuff, which could take a lot of time away.

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
I saw d harriet - hello! I think that was so smart d harriet -
lol I haven't taken a photo in a while - I should do that again but I am afraid to look
Hope your dh has a very good dr. appointment
Since I haven't been able to get to the beach - I have the beach sounds on my computer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zsfz3RAxkUk
I have had many an early morning on the water throughout my life and it brings me so much peace and joy. It reminds me of being up north and having my coffee out by Lake Michigan before the family woke up. Good memories
today we have lots of people:
the company for the drip system is here to reconfigure the inside yard so that the watering system does not get hurt
ot
new company for mom is coming to talk to us.
Tuesday is bathroom day
I get blinded by stuff" ask her to be brutally honest about what she saw that bothered her and how she would correct it"

I hope that house fairy is busy while I'm going for a massage/body work! Back soon!

Oohh I like that. That is something I have wanted for a while . Fresh eyes to see what is out of place and whatbis clutter and how to make it look tidy.
And someone to give me fresh heallthy meals without having to come up with ideas . Ds goes through spurts and has seemingly lost his drive for cooking atm.
Though I desperately need to do so differently with him too. Hopefully our schedules will be so He's not sitting alone at home too much over summer. He has lost his basketball motivation too and he doesn't ever hang out with his friends in summer. He found a new game which I am not a huge fan of. Need some different things for him to do.

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
Hi!
When dh and I were talking while we sat at the kitchen table having coffee and hot tea, I told him that I intend to use as little energy as possible today and I told him that whatever is outside can wait one more day.
We are having left overs for supper.
I have started a list of stuff I want to get finished before the end of my life. One is photographs. I was doing so well until the immensity of the entire job overwhelmed me. I had a thought about that, so I wrote it down on a bright yellow piece of paper. Trying to keep that list very short. Something else on that list was "Paperwork... file or fire?" Keeping all the really old stuff is a waste of time. With all that adulting stuff I did last week to make sure dh and I applied for numerous benefits to assist us after the age of 65, I know there are so many things that need to be easily accessible as far as paperwork later. I need to have a file with all the most up to date stuff for when either one of us needs it.
I think my House Fairy might be able to help with either of those things. I also have a book I just started this morning and some stitching to get finished, hopefully soon.

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
I went to the gym today and worked out with my personal trainer and came home. Now I am puppy sitting Coco, who is a 3 pound little Yorky terrier. She adores sweetie. We already went for a walk this morning and now she’s just running around the house doing her thing.
Not much to do around the house I’m just trying to keep upkeep with it till I get the cleaners in sometime next week. I do have some drapes that I’m trying to figure out whether I like them or not so I’ll play with him today.
All my dogs have been 50+ pounds so I’ve never really had a little one like Coco is. She’s a dream to walk and just a bundle of fun. She’s running around the house playing with some toys and playing hide and seek with sweetie. We’re having a good time. It’s a good day.

Re: Tuesday International (House?) Fairy Day
Good morning
I am on a natural high because i have been able to take 3 short walks this morning with zero hip pain. I find this statement somewhat interesting in that my happy meter has become pegged by being able to walk without pain. Sometimes I need to be reminded how many blessings I have and don't appreciate them. Walking pain free is definitely something that I appreciate now!
Big red ants have been a cause for concern lately. I normally go with the attitude of live and let live with most critters and insects. However, these ants have built an enormous ant bed by the shop. The location means fellas working on vehicles are prime targets of the ants to attack. I have tried several methods to discourage the ants without success but recently finally found something that is solving this. I will continue to monitor.
Our ready-to-eat food situation is dire. I have several things thawing and hopefully will be able to start restocking the refrigerator.
For the first time this year, DH is driving the zero-turn mower. That big mower is very powerful and quick response to the slightest control movement, so the operator needs to remain fully mentally aware. I am so hopeful this goes well, and DH can safely return to driving it.
I talked to the doctor yesterday about the positive mental changes in DH since I cut his statin meds in half. The doctor looked at the statistics and said those meds only affect the mental capacity of 1% of the population. It is a slim chance that DH is in that 1% but there is the possibility that statins were a factor in his mental decline.
RR - I love hearing about Coco! We have a 4lb Yorkie (Micro) that has a huge personality. The SHE card came due today to get groomer appt for Micro so that will be my next up.
