Rosa 'Fourth of July' is a red and white climbing rose cultivar, bred by American rose breeder, Tom Carruth, and introduced by Weeks Wholesale Rose Grower in 1999. The rose was named an All-America Rose Selections in 1999.
The cultivar is called "Crafy for you" in the UK.

Another sunny morning here. Last day of school for the kids, and I have decided I will walk them to school today, even if that makes me 20 minutes late for work. I miss being part of their morning, this year I walked them to school maybe 4 or 5 times, and MrNG did all the other mornings.
THe weeks to come will be busy at home and I will be at work until mid-August so MrNG will have to entertain them during the days. We have enrolled them for daycare one day a week more or less, but that won't give him much respite.

TADAs: up too early (menopause hormones!), kept writing letter to DF J--, read news aka doomscrolling.

TODO : morning usual rush to be ready for payroll and get everyone ready, BUT I will take time to walk the kids to school, then, payroll day, and evening with the boys as MrNG leaves this evening (he has an all-day long consulting job tomorrow 2 hours away).

Good morning FFB, and thank you for the start. A very happy 4th July to all the US SHEs!

FFB, I have noticed how the summer holidays seem very long to my friends with DKids. You are not alone ! Some suggestions from what seems to work here with girls (of course this may not work with boys!) several Mums have "pooled" their kids so one Mum has all of them for a week while the others work, and then someone else takes the next week. This way you get 3- 4 weeks of child care for one week of annual leave. DF CW has a friend who is a single Mum with a little girl about the same age of G12. So she's paid her friend to take G as well for a couple of weeks - it's a win win as the two girls play nicely together and amuse each other, and S(the friend) has a little bit of extra money. (I am aware this may not work well with boys!!!)

It's another nice day. I need to get up and make the most of it outside before it gets too hot.☀️

I've had coffee with DH, and chatted about the desk he is looking to acquire for the office. Basically, it's essentially a table top, but he's assured me he can get legs at IKEA (apparently it's what everyone else is doing). I then quizzed him about storage, as all the "stuff" from the existing desk and the tallboy next to it needs to go somewhere. Apparently work are also throwing in our storage units which should (I've told him to measure to be sure!) fit under the desk. So basically we'll end up with what we have now. Still, it will be a good opportunity for him to clear out all his "stuff". :D

I'm now sitting in my garden, planning what to do next - I've already deadheaded, but watering will have to wait until later, when the sun has gone round and it's cooler.

Oh L Ann, I'm so sorry! Thinking of you right now. Lots to do, yes, emotionally as well as physically. ((HUGS)) Glad she's at peace now.
WTG finding the upside of dh's project, Kitty! Enjoy time in your garden.
FFB, I'm so glad you took the time to walk your boys to school today. I'm happy that ds9 is done with that teacher. Have a great weekend!

TODAY: We have mellow celebrations on July 4. This evening, we're going to the girls' place where d29 is going to grill bbq chicken for us all. We're bringing corn on the cob - hope to put it on the grill as well. Dd27 is making chocolate cream pie! Not sure what M is bringing - or the Cs. RC can't join - or will join late - because he's on service today in the hospital.

Maybe we'll try to see fireworks in the evening? Strangely, there is no city display here. The city says there's no appropriate space -- not even in the UM football stadium that seats 107,600 people? (Apparently, it's the largest stadium in the US. So there's your trivia for the day! LOL! And I've never been to a football game there.) But there are some neighborhood shows, including a nice private show over the golf course, and one can sit in a high school parking lot across the street for free and get a great view of the fireworks without the hassle of finding space in large crowds! :D

I think S and J are bringing their new Bernedoodle puppy Raven (maybe 11 weeks?) to the cook out, so I will finally get to meet her!! :) Fable and Raven will be kept separate bc Raven has giardia, which Fable just got rid of after months on meds. SO - 2 puppies at the cook out, though Fable doesn't look like a puppy; she's 9 months old now.

Oh, L.ann, I'm so sorry to hear. You have certainly been a faithful daughter, helping your parents. Yes, there's lots to do now, different from before.💔

Kittykatt, my desk is an old door with 2 short filing cabinets holding it up! The cords go through the hole that was the door knob.
