Re: Sunday Sun
The Sun ( also known as Sol or Helios) is the star at the centre of the Solar System, a d is the brightest object in the Earth's sky.. It is a massive, nearly perfect sphere of hot plasma, heated to incandescence by nuclear fusion reactions in its core, radiating the energy from its surface mainly as visible light and infrared radiation with 10% at ultraviolet energies. It is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. The Sun has been an object of veneration in many cultures. It has been a central subject for astronomical research since antiquity.
The Sun orbits the Galactic Center at a distance of 24,000 to 28,000 light-years. Its distance from Earth defines the astronomical unit, which is about 1.496×108 kilometres or about 8 light-minutes. Its diameter is about 1,391,400 km (864,600 mi), 109 times that of Earth. The Sun's mass is about 330,000 times that of Earth, making up about 99.86% of the total mass of the Solar System. The mass of outer layer of the Sun's atmosphere, its photosphere, consists mostly of hydrogen (~73%) and helium (~25%), with much smaller quantities of heavier elements, including oxygen, carbon, neon, and iron.
The Sun is a G-type main-sequence star (G2V), informally called a yellow dwarf, though its light is actually white, with black sunspots. It formed approximately 4.6 billion years ago from the gravitational collapse of matter within a region of a large molecular cloud. Most of this matter gathered in the centre; the rest flattened into an orbiting disk that became the Solar System. The central mass became so hot and dense that it eventually initiated nuclear fusion in its core. Every second, the Sun's core fuses about 600 billion kilograms (kg) of hydrogen into helium and converts 4 billion kg of matter into energy.

Morning All! Lots of good suggestions, GMA. Unfortunately no miniature golf or bowling locally. I think he will like the museum near the Navy Base that has lots of planes. If he decides to stay for the week we will go to the marine museum where we can take a ride on the historic boat.
Neither of my Utah grandkids gets excited when I plan a theater trip but they always enjoy the show once we go.

Re: Sunday Sun
Enjoy the day with DGS, L Ann. A show sounds like fun to me; maybe he'll like Tarzan!
What's on your Sunday lunch menu today, Kitty?
Yesterday, I went through my stuff in the computer room, including clearing my books off the window seat. I decluttered a few books and notebooks and moved a few books. In the evening, CG1 was small, just 3 couples (and 1 couples' 3 boys). We studied and shared and it was good. The food was awesome, and I ate too many cookies and brownies.
My weight is way up again this a.m. but I doubt the cookies have landed so quickly. LOL! -- But they will land later.
I'm going to be careful eating today. We have brownies left over from last night; I may end up throwing them away.
Today, we have church and then we're hosting dinner tonight, if anyone is coming. The Cs have been so overcommitted lately with J11yo's swimming that we haven't seen them much. We're going to the AME church this morning which is local. AA goes there too so maybe we'll see her there. I might spend time this afternoon writing and reading. I'll try to get in a long walk.
Next:
- back exercises
- s2s and self care
- finish reclaiming the kitchen
Later:
- make the bed
- 9:45 - 12-ish out to church
- lunch
- walk before it gets too hot (or split into 2)
- coffee shop?
- writing
- work on decluttering desktop file sorter
- maybe work on decluttering pants? (Though maybe not a great time as my weight is very high - for me.)
- WF run for dinner
- host Sunday dinner(?): rot. chicken, Dutch cheese, bread, pizza? , fruit
- after dinner clean up
- duo
- WW
- Noom
- MFP
TaDas!
- up; weighed self - egads!

Re: Sunday Sun
Good morning, all. Thank you for starting us off, Kittykatt. I didn't know that our sun is called Helios as well as Sol. Helios was the titan that controlled the sun before the Olympian god Apollo took over that role. Doing a bit of digging in Wikipedia, I see that Sol was Circe's father in Roman mythology, which would make him Helios in Greek mythology. Today I Learned!
I'll bet that your dgs will love the planes, L.Ann. I would think that any glimpse of the ocean would be exciting to a child from Utah as well.
It must be difficult to plan dinner when you don't know how many people are coming, helia. Hopefully that gets sorted early in the day.
I think that Gma is on her way to IKEA. I'm glad that you found a friend to make the trip with, Gma, and hopefully to help with the driving to give your foot a break.
Sunday
Cleaned up after Germane
Put away dry dishes
Checked laundry and put away dry

The ocean would be more exciting, Dogged, if they hadn’t lived two blocks from the beach in San Diego for the first 8 years of his life!

I can see that would make the ocean less of a novelty, L.Ann
Hi, Peaches
I decided to take the plunge and call the financial company to close my account, as every time I try to use their card, they have it blocked. I call, they unblock it, I go to use it and it's blocked again. It's not serving a purpose like this, so I may as well shed it.
I am half an hour into the call so far, have reached the retention dept and they have worked out that I cannot bring the account down to zero when I don't have access to the account, so they have put notes on my account, presumably to tell the next agent to help me and not just tell me that they unblocked it when they didn't. That feels like progress. I hope that it is.
