I have body work yet again today, I am finally feeling that my back/hips/legs/feet are better. Of course, eight or nine hours in a car on Wednesday will probably undo that but we'll see.

I have my workout this afternoon too. I skipped all of last week, and will miss Thursday and next Monday as well.

I need to get going, need to be out of here in 1.25 hrs. Hoping dh will walk ddog.

Yesterday we broke a record for "lowest recorded high" if that makes sense. The high yesterday was only 73 degrees. Today is cloudy all day, chance of rain, and high only 75 ish.

Twins..your record high of 73* sounds wonderful to my 96* yesterday. However I did get to spend most of the day at the beach. Most of the time is spent swimming in the ocean until I get hungry. Then I get out, eat a little and go back in. We do have a shade tent so some of my time was sitting under it.

Been to my class this morning and then later to my drumming one. Looking forward to that. Once home I need to take Sweetie to a phone store. He thinks his phone has viruses in it and I think its just his Alzheimer's but I'm not about to argue with him. Within the last week all he watches is Fox News..sometimes repeat shows but he doesn't seem to realize it. If I point it out to him, he gets snarly, so I've decided to pick my battles and go to another room to watch something else. This is a new behavior. He will sit and watch their shows sometimes for hours. I know this is the disease, so I just let it go.

I have a very comfortable chair in our bedroom, but its not in a position where I can watch the tv in there. Need to figure out how to make that happen.

I still have footprints to pick up before I leave for my drumming class. I can't take my OTC sleeping meds because of my upcoming surgery. I was able to go to sleep last night without a problem, but didn't have a good nights sleep. I'm kind of dragging today, but I expected that. Just hope I don't crash later today.

Hi!!

We have a holiday here. It is a "Civic" holiday, so it isn't in every province and I think it's got a different name in the other provinces that do have a holiday today. All government offices are closed, no mail delivery, most restaurants are open, smaller stores are open. Some pharmacies are open and some are closed (depending on size). Large grocery stores are closed. We have a store here in Ontario called Shopper's Drug Mart. They have an on-site pharmacy, which is open and they also have a "grocery" section which has less than 25% of the entire store. On holidays like today, they are busy. Unfortunately they prefer to have customers use the do-it-yourself type checkouts. I don't like using them, but IF I need to go there today, I will.

I have emptied the dishwasher. I refilled it with large bowls and small pots. After that load is done, I would like to do some of the glass vases on the windowsill of our bedroom. They are looking a bit dusty. I also want to vacuum the entire house. The bedroom probably needs it. I haven't looked for tumbleweeds of cat fur under the bed recently.

The temperature is lower today and the air quality is bad due to smoke from the wildfires up north and out west. Yesterday was also bad.

No idea what we are having for supper.

Cathy I think you might be in Ontario? What is your holiday called. Its BC. Day here I think. Alberta has it too we just came from there. The kids are off too.

More on Monday? I think that's good today. I really need to get stuff done today. Berries are ready to pick. Need whb. What else was I going to do. I really think I should go check the greenhouse too. A bunch of weeding and see if the inside is not dead. Could be green beans in there ready to pick?

I'm hoping it's somewhat watered. Dad and mom managed to get away this weekend too. Up to the town where some relatives live where a car show and big long weekend event was. He's been driving his restored older truck and it decided to break down. I was worried more about mom than that and from what I heard from my sister he could have handled the weekend better. But I guess I should talk to him first.

Anyway I hope you get the phone issues sorted rose. I'm seeing a trend of pick the battles with memory issues and that seems one to just let him do.

I feel like most of June and early July was that temperature. Finally warmed up just into July.

Lauralind it used to be called "Simcoe Day" but now it's just the "Civic Holiday" .

I moved the bed (thankfully it's on little tiny wheels) and the 2 bedside tables and I vacuumed 95% of the bedroom. All of the large/visible tumbleweeds of fur are now gone. All 3 cats are hiding. The youngest one was under the bed and "came running out with a puffy tail" (dh told me, I didn't see it) when the vacuuming started. I also did most of the living room and the hall. Kitchen and bathroom are next.

I've taken a package of chicken leg quarters out of the freezer for supper tonight.

Good morning!

Today we are gathering the family to celebrate DS16's last day of being 16. Tomorrow, he’s heading to a big city to celebrate with his friends. Yesterday, his girlfriend's family hosted a cookout for his birthday. This 4-pound preemie baby has come a long way from spending the first few weeks of his life in the NICU. Now, we’re preparing to start his final year as a minor and final year of high school. Next year on his birthday, his options will open up as he’ll be able to vote, serve in the military, enter contracts, work in most jobs, get married, gamble in casinos, open a bank account, and more without a co-signer.

Walked saw a deer resting in the shade near the road I think it was a buck with nubs for antlers just showing
a large creature! Over half of my steps in for that day yea!
Done by 9:00 and it was warm already.
Breakfast happened / snack bar.

Duds are going now.
Forget to put in the next one so it's going now.
!st one is folded.
Spiffed the counters a bit.

Two batches of bread dough are mixed up bagged up and
I've taken em to the basement freezer now.

Update : I wore my faith bracelet has hope love and faith dangles on it and
was great for fidgeting and prayer moments as needed. Subtle too!
So no need for knitting or ddoggo to bring.

I have one coming from the other side of the world and should be here by
Fri. Ordered it on the 30th of last mo. I think. Prob. coming around the south America way!

On this time I made sure to order jewelry from US.

Sometimes trying to get the family schedule to match feels like playing Tetris. Our celebration of DS16 birthday has been moved to Wednesday.

I tried a new-to-us box mix - Zatarain's Bourbon Chicken Rice. DH declares it is his favorite of all. I started buying Zatarain's box mixes on A-river because they are half price as anywhere else I can find.

I love hearing about your life. I might be a traveler if I had the ability to add more to my already full spinning plates. Yesterday I watched a video by one of my favorite ut because he travels and seeks to show sites without adding bias. The video was showing Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario . I realize it isn't the same as being there myself, but it is as close to soaking up the experience of seeing different places as I can get....for now.

Good afternoon! Adding "a little bit more" to my daily routines -- I'm getting back into my cards. (I do miss bittersweet!) One thing they've already added back is the chair exercises I used to do faithfully. I wish I could go outside and walk, but I can't walk very far on an uneven surface without my back hurting. One of my goals in cleaning out the playroom is to be able to get an under-desk treadmill that I could slide under the credenza. Right now, I can't get to under the credenza, and even if I could, the area underneath is filled with boxes of Polly Pockets and Pokemon cards.

Today's work in the playroom did not get very far -- we were working on Barbies, and there was much reminiscing. We got a few small things pitched and nothing yet to the giveaway box. There is a very large Ariel chariot that, if I had my druthers, would be going in the giveaways, but the mere mention thereof gave DD such a stricken face! Apparently, both kids remembered when they got it and the accompanying doll -- they were at a toy exchange at our beach club, and each child was allowed to pick one toy, so they collaborated, and one got the doll, and the other got the chariot. But the chariot is honking big! I have no idea where this is going to be stored. I may have them put it in the coal room, which is really just deferring the decision, because the coal room needs cleaning out as well. (Coal room: room in the basement of this 100-year-old house where coal for the boiler was stored. Long since turned into a regular room but full of junk.)

lucylee reminds me that I need to get back into The Gilded Age. I haven't picked it up again, and the season is almost done. When I had nothing else for my lunchtime watching, I got into rewatching Scrubs, but it had 9 seasons, and I'm only about halfway through.

I hope treating your body well will encourage it to treat you well, Twins. If I don't see you before then, enjoy your trip!

I'd send you some energy, Rose, but I'm a little low myself.

Cathy/Lauralind/LadyM -- you remind me of childhood vacations (which were always this time of year -- manufacturing plant shutdowns). The Sault Ste. Marie reminds me of our first big family vacation, driving around Michigan and Wisconsin. We stayed one night near Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, and went across the border for dinner just because. (The next night, we were in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and the TV was full of Nixon's resignation.) On another family trip into Canada, we found ourselves somewhere on Civic Holiday and were bewildered. We'd no idea the thing existed, and everywhere was closed.

LadyM, happy 17th birthday to your DS, whenever you end up celebrating!

Oh, my goodness, Nancy! I think you finally got up later than I did! (Every so often, I'll peek in here first thing in my morning, and you'll already be awake, three time zones away.)
