Mangetout, also known as snow peas or sugar peas, are a type of pea pod that can be eaten whole,. The name "mangetout" is French for "eat all". Dogged, I think you were wise not to go grocery shopping when you were hungry. Think of all the money you saved!
Helia, chicken is so versatile, you've got a good basis for easy meals while you're on your own. I do find it I can possibly post my list for the week on Sunday evening, it helps me start the working week on Monday feeling a bit more organised and in control. Of course, unexpected things can crop up, but it gives.me something.to work from. And if I can get the appointments listed, there's less chance I'll forget!
DH is on holiday this week, so no early alarm this morning. I have, however, made the most of waking g reasonably early (Matilda saw to that! 
) and I've done some of my physio exercises. Plans for today: DH is amo G to clear out the garage. It's an ambitious plan, and if he just gets his tools organised and out away, I'll be happy, as it will mean I will then be able to work on the garage at some point if he gets bored without tripping over all his tools! I need to do housework, and also be around for the roofers who are hopefully arriving sometime this afternoon. (ē, it's Dnextdoorneighbour C who has booked the appointment, but I can't see them turning down the prospect of extra work, especially as they are a young company. Having done my homework and checked out all their reviews, accreditations etc, I know quite a bit about them. I also have a feeling that he *may* be one of the sons from the family.business we have used before, and who were very good. If I get a chance, I'll ask!)
Other than that, I know I'll have to run down to the garage several times today, to heap loads of praise on that project, whatever stage it's at!

Sort out cabinet that wobbles - does the back need some sort of bracing ?
Fix garage guttering that's loose at one end and bending down. Dneighbour R2 may fix?
Fix dripping kitchen tap (new washer ?)- DF E has given me the phone number of her plumber . I think DF CW also has a plumber she is happy with?
Take up and hem those thick winter curtains for the kitchen
Book eye test for me
Find picture hanging equipment for DH
Sort prints and put in albums (this will probably be an activity to do on wet days!) WIP I am now working on 2024
Think about setting up Guardianship for F,J and M - looked on Cats' Protection, I need their microchip numbers, approximate DOB, colour and markings and useful information about them. Bookmark link with local recommended solicitors (also ask DF CW?)

Time, 11am-12pm (they have hourly slots)
Which menu I want to order with all the add-ons( simple buffet with bite sized cakes and fruit platter)
How many guests(20? Remember at least a couple need to be GF)
Explain that the treasurer has the "chequebook" for the church (she actually does everything online) and ask them to send the invoice there.

I e taken Fred out and had a long chat with Dneighbour R. He has given me some foxglove plants he has grown from seed for my garden. Just had coffee with DH. He has now departed to the garage, and I need to get started in the garden.

Do you need some roofing work done too, Kitty? I hope the garage clean out goes well! I'd never heard of that sort of pea, though I have probably eaten it.
Was FFB here over the weekend? Or is she on holiday now?
It is sunny with a high around 79*F today. About 60*F now. I slept for almost 9 hours so I'm feeling better - less tired. I slept with my window open and was awoken at 4:30 by an owl's loud hooting. LOL! It wasn't the eastern screech owl that I sometimes hear - a regular owl hoot. And then around 6:30 by a young hawk calling. And chipmunk alarms.

Morning all. Kittykat that is a good idea trying to catch the contractor when he's close by. He might have to give you a future date but he can see if he can do your job. Hopefully dh makes progress on the garage today.
Helian that sounds peaceful but noisy birds waking you up.
I do think this was holiday time for frenchie. Hopefully she is enjoying.
Ooh that's a change of routines lann.
I think I would call those peas a sugar snap. Or snow pea. Sugar snap actually has peas inside but you can eat the pod. Snow pea is all pod with just the tiny start of peas. At least that's what they are called here and maybe what I should have grown. I'm kinda enjoying my garden here and contemplating fixing my big greenhouse in the back. I do struggle a bit with things that only produce a little. I just used up the pea seed I had and they were small design plants. Short with just little pea pods. I've let them go over ripe. And I did find a few beans at dad's but they are dry and overdone too from no water. The rest is not developed. It would be if it was here where I can water. And maintain.
I need to bring my herb pots in the house. So ds can remember we have them. Slowly starting to get pickle cukes and one pepper plant is producing. Tomato plants are doing well for starting completely over end of June. Starting to produce and lots of flowers. Oh and an over abundance of lettuce.
Only trouble? I have only a couple weeks before frost threat... the tomatoes will have to move in the greenhouse. I don't like it cause the covering makes it like the plants are in shade. And barely gets warm.
Gardening saga lol. Oh and the raspberries are never ending atm. Ds made a delicious (almost) cheesecake with his raspberry syrup. Except we completely neglected adding any sugar to the cream. Savory raspberry.... hmm maybe put some of the jam on it for sweet. I have a couple hours more picking yet.
I imagine Monday later shift. Truck again. I should get in the shower soon and get some routine and maybe that whb start done.

Tidy laundry room and master bedroom some
Empty and reload dw it's full of baking stuff supper dishes await
Finish tidying kitchen all the way
Put away jam and freeze yesterday berries
Sweep everywhere
Quick vacuum if ds wakes up early enough
