How are you setting the scene at your place on Sunday?

Are you looking toward visitors arriving, or travel out for worship, or for meeting needs?

Is there some upcoming plan for the week that needs your attention now, maybe with scheduling?

Or will this be a cucumber-slices on the eyes, feet up, fluffy bathrobe kind of recuperation day?

Hi Harriet! Thank you for starting our Sunday!

Picture a slightly disheveled library. Just across the room to the right as you enter, there is an ironing board, of all things! There are neat stacks of what appear to be craft-type things. A pile of cross stitch patterns along with some projects poking out here and there and a project not yet started that involves a tablecloth that has been pre-stamped. There is also a large clear bag with a lot of floss for this tablecloth project. Most of it seems to be pink. There are also some tools needed to repair jewelry. Hmmm... the crafter doesn't make jewelry, but the tools are ready. They should really be put away. Oh, if only that ironing board wasn't blocking the way into the small alcove where craft-type items live. When you turn around there is a large lower cabinet with doors. Above that cabinet are three bookshelves that go all the way up to the ceiling. At one end of the cabinet there are 3 stacks of books that need to find a home somewhere in the full-to-bursting bookshelves. An inch here, an inch there... although there were 36 inches of books removed on the previous day, space is still at a premium.

Although the library will be an on-and-off, all day project, there are other things getting done.

Bathroom garbage has been taken out. Three litter boxes to be cleaned. Dishwasher to be emptied. Meat to be taken out of freezer for supper (pork chops).

Dh has had his coffee and there might be an afternoon full of Canadian football games later. I have already burned a bag of birthday cards and other paperwork that was no longer needed or useful. My desk seems to be getting cleared up a bit. I had a pile of hints and tips that had been removed from various magazines and books over the past few decades. There were so many that just don't apply any longer, like how to deal with junk mail immediately, etc.

Cathy - I love the way you described your space

My day started off well. Habits help things flow effortlessly without much thought—just follow them and avoid overthinking.

This morning, DH joined me for a walk at the park. I usually take walks around our neighborhood, but today I wanted a change of scenery. Driving to the other side of town to enjoy nature and flat walking paths was definitely worth it.

Digital SHE cards and the paper hip pad are in use today. I don’t feel a mental need for the hip pad, but I’m enjoying using it. Rather than being a necessity, it’s becoming more of a reward.

LadyM now I have to come in and edit that previous description... The ironing board got cleared and taken down. The stuff that was on the ironing board got moved within the room, but not away yet. The piles of books on the cabinet also got moved (onto the kitchen island). Some books (between P and Z) got put away. Books got shuffled again. At least 2 more books are getting donated. I even swept some of the gorgeous wooden floor.

Dh has gone outside, but I didn't go out with him. It rained last night, so watering isn't needed, therefore my assistance outside isn't required.

I think brunch is the next thing I need to accomplish. Brunch is too fancy when in fact there will be toast with fried eggs.

dearest harriet - I laughed so hard when I read your response about find a man - I imagined it - dd running after a man like the old cartoon of the Sadie Hawkins day where the girls ran after the men. Little Abner. so cute!
It just made me smile!

I have the guys here pulling weeds
the helper that came is around 72 - she said she is more than capable of lifting mom - sigh - she is lovely but I don't think I will trust her to walk mom with the walker. dd older is helping her.
I could never have her during the week.

I know the guys don't want to weed - but I need the help - there is a lot.
I also will pull the chairs and have them spray paint them
I will ask them to undo the pots - put the extras in the garage
considering having them put the christmas lights up today so I don't have to in September

LOL, Harriet! I don't see any of us going that route!

Dh has a massage this morning - I didn't know about that but whatever. He and dneighbor guy are supposed to be using the smoker tonight - dneighbor suggested "beer can chicken" as a start so I think that is our supper, with corn on the cob? Dneighbors will be over for supper too, to catch up. They took second child (his son) to college this week.

Harriet thanks for the start today.
I was able to get 7 hrs. of sleep up after day lite as I was up later a show I like was on after my normal bed time.
I've been journaling on the deck and watering back lawn is done.
Front is on now.
Had bfast

Then watering the beds.
Walk
s2s & wash hair
Some sewing on my mind as it's been smokey outside in the p.m. & hot.
Might finish up a knitting piece too.

I'm enjoying a slow-paced day.

** Inventoried ready-to-eat foods and began prepping to add more: salmon, loaded baked potatoes, chicken, and green beans.
** Administered DH's weekly experimental meds.
** Completed planning DS17's homeschool assignments for the week.
** Finished 42 SHE cards.
** DD14 is back after 36 hours with DD49. She has clean hair and a clean body, but yellow teeth. **sigh**

** Harvest tomatoes, peppers, okra
** set DD14 up with website, login and password to answer questions on autism forms
