Labour/Labor Day Monday SEPTEMBER 1st!

Post by CathyS »

It's SEPTEMBER already! How did that happen? Will you be enjoying a day with family and friends and food or will you be working around the house?

I've had a very lazy couple of days, so today I have work to do inside and outside. It's my turn to cut the grass.

The Labour Day Classic game starts at 2 p.m. Dh has football commentary on TV already. They are discussing last night's game and the 2 games for today.

I also have to catch up on the dishes and laundry. There are 2 litter boxes in need of attention. I actually did one yesterday.

Opportunities Abound! :D

Various Monthly Threads are popping up (or already ongoing) around the village,
for inspiration,
for encouragement,
recording,
perusing,
pondering,
complaining,
and general "keeping up" with the fact that

as Cathy said, It's September already! How did that happen?

Holiday Grand Plan and House and Holidays Plan started yesterday, with notes about that in A, C and N and Fun and Games.

Oh my goodness, I'm starting today in a brain fog! It took me a minute to realize blessed is not experiencing flooding or terrible accident from pets or people, but that she got a PACKAGE delivered... LOL. Yesterday, a member of the Sunday School group text sent a message that she had washed her blue t-shirt and wanted to warn us, it dyed everything in the wash blue. Took me the longest to figure out that she wasn't just talking about a random blue shirt and the quality of our city water, but that we ALL have the same blue t-shirt with our new church logo, and that was why she was "warning" us.

Anyway, I'm up, s2s, and getting started on the day. Going to the Labor Day picnic, mainly for stew, but also for ds to play music with the group that always gathers there. Will see some old friends, Will be hot and tired when it is over.
Tomorrow is another day.

Good morning!

Just got back from a 30-minute walk at the park. We’re still sore from yesterday, so we took it slow, but we managed to complete our non-stop walk.

For me, the holiday means taking a break from balancing homeschool and public-school responsibilities.

I've had lots of socializing the last two days and I'm DONE. Today needs to be braising more brisket and getting my head in order to go to the beach on Saturday. (Insert pulling my hair out icon here.) Then Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish new year will be nearly upon me. I need to send out invites for Rosh Hashanah before going to the beach also....

So today is recovery, planning ahead for the rest of the month, and brisket to the freezer. And keeping conflict to a minimum with dh. I'm feeling stressed and need to learn to adapt. He's been at work already this a.m. cleaning up (of course, he was up at 6 a.m. and I .....wasn't.)

Happy Labor Day!
Waving to everyone!
ddoggo was up at 5 me not so much took me 15 more min. to roll out of bed.
Still dark out... so I did a journal page got dressed and by then it was lite enough to walk.
Luvly pink sunrise and it was cool yea!
On our walk saw a big buck in the field got it on vid but had it's head down so you could not see the antlers.
Got a great vid. of the pink sunrise too!
Swept the carport from the branch that came down yesterday. I worked on it and got it cut down to size.
Left one longer piece to use for a walking stick possibly.
Got it peeled aka de- barked.
Had bfast.
Most of the journal stuff is done.

Next up sweep not sure if I'll mop trying to go one chore a day this week.
vacuumed liv. room last evening.
I need to sweep up after the whittling fun.
Tomorrow is trash day so I need to empty that.

Dh brought in 9 red peppers, so I chopped them up and put them in the freezer. There are still a few more still turning from green to red out in the garden. Dh also brought in another large handful of green and yellow beans. More raspberried and 2 more strawberries. I will have some yogurt in a while and enjoy the fruit.

I have cut the front yard. I will wait a bit to do the back. I also cleaned 1 litterbox. Everything is half done, I guess.

Thankfully dh has turned off the football coverage for a while.

We have decided on BBQed cheeseburgers and a large number of green and yellow beans for supper. Dh also got a large handful yesterday and the day before and they are all in the fridge for tonight.

Later...

I have finished cutting the grass. Dh is sleeping. Dryer is going. (bed sheet) Washer is on load number 3! (To be fair, first load was a rinse and spin and second load was a quick wash cycle to re-do a solitary bed sheet.)
