Top Three Priorities Thursday

Post by Twins' Mom »

I saw an interesting Facebook post this week - about top three priorities.
....anyone can be in amazing shape if being in amazing shape is one of their top three priorities."
Which expanded upon, the writer revealed that being in amazing shape wasn't one of her top three priorities - probably for most of us "amazing shape" is not where we expect to be. In this context it was "influencer" shape. And that was okay for her because she had other priorities.

When she saw an amazing decorated, spotless, curated home, she was able to reflect that doing so wasn't one of her top priorities.

We can prioritize being in great shape for our age, We can prioritize our home, family, friends, worship, volunteering, researching, creative pursuits, whatever we choose.

what are our top three priorities?

Thank you for starting us off today Twins' Mom!

I have a hard time giving a top priority to the exact same thing every single day.

Maybe duds, dinner and dishes?

Health and safety of loved ones?

I don't know.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Yep, Cathy, I was thinking that too. For about three weeks in the late summer or early fall, I'm all about entertaining for Rosh Hashana. I go for a period of time when all I want to do is to sneak upstairs and research/write.

I got in around 7 p.m. last night. I left the library a little past three, early, but I did beat the worst of the traffic leaving Nashville for the day. (Different time zone accounts for three hours...)

I have body work at ten, so I'm heading out in a minute. Then workout at two. I'll catch my breath with dh out tonight. Tomorrow I'm watching webinar genealogy lectures from 11:30 a.m. on.

Good morning

Twins - glad to have you back home and doing a great job of keeping everything spinning.

Declutter is one one of my top priorities today. I am seeing major progress being made in the Hot Tub room and it is motivating me to keep going. There are three 40 lbs buckets of chlorine poweder & tablets to deal with plus misc other swim pool supplies that has been sitting unused. I have arraigned to give those pool supplies & tools away to a friend who is thrilled to receive them. The heavy bulky telescope is gone to its new home. I put a metal & wood child chair out by the road with a free sign so hopefully it will be moving to its new home soon. Today I am working on filling the third 50-gallon trash bag of this effort.

17 SHE cards completed so far.

What am I cooking today? hum.... I'm leaning toward meatloaf, mashed potatoes and green beans type of a meal.

reading about priorities I noticed, for me, that I don't put health, time for the dogs, outdoors and time for myself as a priority. It was an ah ha. not making dinner either.

I am constantly doing dishes, laundry dailies etc. but I think my priorities were mislead again -it's led to having too much stuff and clutter again. it's so much work for me right now as I keep on trying to catch up. I didn't even know that the stuff was hindering me again - it's not just me - it's everyone bringing things in.

I also realize that I am constantly behind. I am sure it is bc of care for mom, then dd younger, and previous years dh (and this spring).

I want to continue learning but I am so far behind that I put it off.. I need to take that time.

all my life I wanted to learn things and now that I am older I want to take the time to really learn what has been on my list for most of my adult life.
I used to take one year and learn something until I wrung it dry - so much fun.

I really need to finish up my outdoor learning. I havent done that for years.

the house is also full of mom's care items but those are necessary.

I really liked this priority post. It made me think.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Kitchen doings = Biscuits, hash browns and hot links cooked for family

***sigh*** I accidently killed all my fish in the garden. What a blunder I made by putting a pinch of chlorine powder in the fish barrel. I didn't think that small amount was that powerful. Now I am wondering what touching it did to my body. I used my thumb and finger to pick up a pinch without wearing gloves. It was a foolish thing to do.

Last night we returned to attending Wednesday night church meal and service. What a warm welcome we received. Many hugs and happy greetings. There is nothing quite like having a treasured church family. We can't pick our biological family, but we can pick our other types of family. I took a page of notes during the study of James. #TreasuredMoments

Yesterday the wildlife fella and wife came and checked the gopher traps. There is one less gopher in my garden. They will return today to check the traps again and to set out mole/vole traps.

Coming back through after much needed body work, then post office (HOA), gas in the car, and car wash. (Car is rebooted from trip: gas, bugs off windshield, etc., trash and water bottles and other paraphernalia out.

Interesting thinking about priorities. When I was hauling around dkids, keeping car clean wasn't a priority, and often I headed out late and then realized I had to put gas in the car too. At some point I put getting trash out of car on my weekly list, and added gassing up the car too. So keeping car clean inside and out and ready to go is a priority now - not a high priority but I do it. I let the car wash drop when we have extended rain or I just feel too busy.

I still need to eat my brunch - will cook up an omelet and have fruit with it. Need to be leaving again in an hour, believe it or not.

Updated....need spinach, ate omelet with only cheese and some fruit. Will reboot for workout soon.
