Freddie is a much loved black and white feline psychopath, also known as a Tuxedo cat!

Like tabby, calico, and tortie, “tuxedo” is not a cat breed. Instead, this fur pattern, Ike the formal menswear from which it's named, describes a bicolor cat with a black and white coat. Tuxedo cats typically display a solid black coat with white patches on their chest, tummy, paws, and sometimes the chin, usually with white whiskers and yellow or green eyes

"Jellicle cat* is a tuxedo cat in the fictional tribe of nocturnal black and white cats described by T. S. Eliot in Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, which was first published in 1939.. In the musical Cats, the character Mr. Mistoffelees is a tuxedo cat. . The musical differed from the book in that the characters included cats with many different coat colors, rather than just bicolor cats, but it retains the repeated assertion that "Jellicle cats are black and white." Cats with these markings also played a starring role in the drawings illustrating The Unadulterated Cat, a book written by Terry Pratchett, with cartoons by Gray Jolliffe.

Other cartoon bicolor cats include Sylvester the Cat, Felix the Cat, Tom Cat from Tom and Jerry, , the Cat in the Hat from the Dr. Seuss book of the same name.

Notable tuxedo cats in real life include Palmerston, a black-and-white bicolor who was Chief Mouser of the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Whitehall, London, 2016–2020. He has since "came out of retirement" to take a new job there as a "feline relations consultant" for the new Governor of Bermuda, Andrew Murdoch. Murdoch, who had adopted Palmerston when he retired,

Sleep well, Dogged, and WTG having the right priorities and getting Germane's needs sorted! I did read that tuxedo cats are supposed n be "lively, affectionate and playful" . Hmmm, I suppose it's all in the interpretation !

Bama, I understand your feelings re older friends! However, I believe that some people may come into our lives for a short (er) time, so we should cherish every moment. I only knew DDeparted F HE for a relatively few years, but that time together was precious, and through her I met my DF PM. That said, DF E moved to our city when she was 82, to be nearer her eldest son, and is still going strong at nearly 100! She is very pragmatic and talks realistically that there is more time behind her than ahead, but not in morbid way,.and she values all her friends, both those who are lifelong friends and those who came.into her life.more.recently. I suspect your friend really values your friendship , especially as she probably considers you to be, "such a nice *young* lady"!

How annoying about the window washers, Helia. I take it that as everything has been moved inside, they wash the windows inside as well as outside?

Today I have a free morning, before my osteopath appointment this afternoon. I would like to do housework and have some gardening time, once the frost has thawed! Laundry is top priority, so I need to get that going as soon as I get up.

I never made it here yesterday. Busy day, as always, grocery run in the morning, all day online seminar, cleaning and a flu shot in the afternoon which kinda wiped me out. Today I have my normal home office Friday and I promised the girls to take them shopping for outfits for photo shoot next weekend. So, yeah, just a regular day, like always

I've been working on the house this morning - I've dusted, tidied and run the hoover round downstairs. As a bonus I've cleaned the filter.amd spray arms.on the dishwasher and run the cleaning cycle. The third LOL is going through the washing machine and I've taken the rubbish out. Fred is currently deciding whether he wants in to go for his walk or not. On one hand it's nice and sunny, but on the other its decidedly chilly, and he does not like cold paws!

Hi! I saw Freddie's name, so I popped in to see if everything was okay. We have a 5 1/2 year old tuxedo cat that my dh picked out and he named her Sylvester, due to her black and white markings. (We also have her sister that I picked out. Dh picked her name as well. Shakespeare, because I have a library in our house and the name started with an "S". She is a Tortie.)
