I can just see Elizabeth rolling her eyes about incessant positivity, lol!
(Elizabeth, we miss your common sense!)

But I felt rather poetic this a.m. when I saw again yesterday's "Keep" title and this "Keep" title jumped to mind.
I made a quilt for ddolder and dlatesonil for their wedding (after the fact - they eloped!) and gave it this title/label because it was all space-conceptual fabrics without any earth images. Very "sunny" in color, though. It hangs in her LR.

Sunny, these words make me miss seeing you! Hoping the growing family is well.

It's sunny and cold here with wind that makes you want to get inside as fast as possible.

I am fully dressed and ready to get out the door. I need to get out early to go to a local pet food store for dry cat food. I could leave it for tomorrow, but it's in the same small parking lot as the grocery store and I want to pick up milk, eggs, butter and bread because I want to bake something today. Dh has been requesting a baked rice pudding, so I need more mil and eggs than what is in the house at the moment.

I have emptied the dishwasher. I have also done a load of wash that is now in the dryer. Pots/pans/large utensils were done yesterday.

I do need to clear the island and put the bread maker out. Dh has asked if I will be making any bread this winter. I don't like my current bread maker. I use the exact amounts the recipe calls for and the top gets stuck to the useless little window on the top of the machine. Dh suggested putting parchment paper on the window. I don't think it will stay there, but I will try it.

I'm hoping our usual worship service will be accessible online this week. HRH said he is pretty sure we can get it this time.

Dd27 has invited me out to lunch at our favorite Mexican restaurant. She's definitely coming whether we go out or not, but from what I hear, dsonil definitely can't come, so we'll miss seeing him - HRH especially because he and dsonil always chat a lot.

She can certainly lift these boxes of things I have for her by herself, though. It's tempting to say, "oh, a blender - I could use that." But space is reality and there's no reality about space here for another appliance. Small food processor and narrow Nutri bullet will have to do for those duties. Even if she can't use everything right away, she's got a garage - I haven't!

I'll get her to help me pull out the greenery for decor and fix up the top of the china cabinet, up on the step stool. Maybe if we get brave, we could change some difficult lightbulbs, but she may want to wait for dsonil or ds, both taller than her.

Cathy, I hope the bread maker idea from your dh works for you. It does seem to make sense. Either that or lots of oil smeared on the window? Don't know. Again, for me, I admire interesting appliances but have to be aware of my small spaces. Oh, well.

Re: gifts as Lucy brought up yesterday.
I have one under dgd 18 for one more year.
I give cash in envelopes some have a card lol some do not.
Dson was shocked when I gave him his in a bank envelope and put in the drop box for his business.
[He requests no gifts.]
Told him it was going to be there, for tky etc. said it was too much; I said stuff has gone up in price & use the
rest for Christmas. DD got a card with same amount $; Dsis same in card for bday in Nov. and Cmas.

Some years I say I'm giving to ___________ fav. cause, this yr when we both give back same $ amount to each other.
I luv the idea Harriet's hubby had going on in a post this weekend in that respect.

For my bday fall ish I give to a Cmas fun like LH used to do for the salvation army only I picked a closer one I go to frequently.
I did rethink this and have to do that again soon but so far this is working and will do an after Holiday review of it.
[On year I just gave $ said it's for your stocking I hate to shop LOL!]

There were weddings and new babies some years too.
The church has causes as do schools, food drives etc. the P & P plan had get food for that in it and I"m still sort of on auto pilot for that.
I need to change that up I think. It took me for ever to decide where to put that this year. _ Might need to change that up.

Up on time today still sore and stiff.
Limbered up with some stretches journaled etc.
Did rake & sweep leaves out front that helped.
Did some writing woke up with a recipe I used to do omm so wrote that down.
My on line sermon does not come out till mid week and I did not listen to all of it thanks for that reminder Harriet.

I need Rx. call in a bit. Did that.
I can do that to day do not think I can sit that long for it.

Good morning! Doing the livestream last night means that I am not at Mass right now, and I have already brunched. DH ended up putting up Christmas lights yesterday. He did not get them all up, in part because the house painters, despite instructions, did not leave all the hooks up, so much of DH's time was spent putting in new hooks. He might try more today, particularly as the weather is supposed to get nasty later in the week. But he has Klondike practice with the Scouts from 1-3, so he doesn't have much time before he has to go, and when he gets back, not only will he not have tons of time before dark but he will likely want to just come in and be warm after spending two hours at the lakeside. But there is the nasty weather coming....

I did not make the drugstore run Friday or yesterday, so it is imperative today. And since DH will be at Klondike practice, I will be the one to drive DC to a Friendsgiving this afternoon. The map app says it is only half an hour away, but it will be more since we have to detour to get DC's girlfriend. Other than those things, though, there is nothing on my agenda. I was having a bit of panic and a feeling of overwhelm - I have been having temporary moments like this in and out of my day until I grab a card - I am going to make a card of what to do if I start feeling that overwhelm. your post helped!!!

d cathy have a great time doing errands - what if you spray oil/oil the top of the dome for the bread maker

I love that your dh does scouts - I always wished my girls and myself could have been part of the boy scout program bc they learned so much and spent so much time outdoors- - the Girl Scouts by us were very limiting bc of insurance issues - we had to do parent/child non scout outings - they had to be aware that it was not covered by scouts even though the places we would go to had insurance.

mom had a fever this morning - not hungry and very sleepy - I have no idea why. she took her meds and her fever is down again- not sure what is going on. She has been doing pretty well and I hadn't expected her to have a fever this morning.

The young men are putting up the temporary fence to keep the dogs in at night - away from coyotes in the back.
we can still take them out back through the gate - this was just for night time.

reminder re: overwhelmed feeling...

1. it's temporary - card file helps
2. remember there is nothing productive or charming about panicking.
3. "your body is essentially waving a white flag of surrender" Thinking you have to do it all at once is what brings on panic and that overwhelmed feeling. (one step - one card-one simple movement will break the overwhelmed feeling)
4. don't forget outdoor time and self care when it hits.
5. your brain is lying to you that you have to do everything. nope one thing.
6. "anticipate that it will happen" "create a strategy ahead of the panic" (a what to do help list) don't sign up for too much!
7. "take a deep breath"
8. "break down what you have/want/need to do"
9. " remember the past - you have had an anxiety moment and had gotten past it before" - this too shall pass!
10. disrupt catastrophic thinking: A. positive self talk. B. "we have gotten through this before
11. phone a friend or family member
12. remember: IT'S ALL GOING TO BE OKAY

swept under family room couch 0-- dusted wall behind couch - pulled out my puzzle board - we do puzzles in winter

next lay out rug. I laid it out a bit but I need help lifting the couch while one of us rolls the rug out.

I hit a tired spot.
I need to wrap presents and put them downstairs
