Tahini cookie is a cookie made of tahini, flour, sugar and butter and usually topped with almonds or pine nuts.

The traditional way to prepare tahini cookies is to combine flour, sugar and butter until it creates a crumbly mixture before adding in the raw tahini. Balls of dough are then shaped into round, flat cookies, oftentimes with almonds or pine nuts pressed into them. The baked cookie resembles a shortbread. Variations that include adding cinnamon, rose water, orange blossom water, date molasses or grape molasses are widespread across Egypt.

Good morning, Trissie, and thank you for starting us off. Tahini cookies sound interesting (if they resemble shortbread they would probably be called biscuits over here! ).

Gma, I think tahini is made from sesame seeds? I know it's often used in hummus, but that's about it! Trissie is an hour ahead of me,.and it's 6.20 am here, but she's still.an early riser!

Today I need to be up early.to take Freddie to the vet for his Solensia injection. Yesterday I read that 92% of vets and 93% of vet nurses were injured during their work in the last year. Mostly during examinations, anesthesia and recovery, although also from needle stick injuries. I am so thankful that after "the incident" back in 2023, when Freddie woke up from his sedation and attacked the vet when she positioned his bad hip for x-ray, we have worked together to produce the Freddie Protocol when I take him in, and so far, since then , Freddie has not contributed to those statistics!

I'm not sure whether DH is WFH today or taking another day off. Either way, he will be upstairs, so not under my feet, while I clean downstairs!

Change health centres to the one nearest us? On hold ATM , but I'll leave it on my list so I don't forget.

7:30 and on my way to work, gma - my alarm goes off at 5:30 CET, which ist 11:30 EST a 8:30 PST. It's not even late in Oregon when I'm already late for work!

Back from the vet, with only the usual amount of hissing, growling and swearing from Freddie. Of course, someone else brought their perfectly behaved cat in, who purred quietly in her carrier on the top of the cat tree, while Freddie grumbled in his carrier on the bottom shelf of the cat tree! Today I noticed that Freddie's notes from his last appointment for his boosters started, "Unable to examine as usual!"

It's raining and a very mild 14 C. I've picked up a few leaves from the front garden, but I don't think I'll be doing anything else outside today!

kittykatt Your list is intimidating... as is mine . I might not have enough time to post it How many kitties do you have now?
Those vet visits sound scary with Freddy.
I work really hard with pup to keep her calm there. Thankfully, she is food motivated... Last time, she made friends with both the vet and the tech.

I got up earlier to make pancakes for my DGDs...

Good morning trissie, Gma, Kittykatt. date molasses or grape molasses - how interesting! Cookies made with tahini would be peanut-buttery but those traditional ones sound extra sweet and flavorful for a cookie.

I first enjoyed tahini in stir-fries when I first decided to be a vegetarian and was perusing recipes. I found that it really adds some body and flavor to those. yum.

My day won't get productive until afternoon because I have appts out in the cold, cold world until then, lol. Hope you all have great days.
