Festive and Feeling holidays - Friday Pwyc December 12, 2025

Post by blessedw2 »

Something that I have worked on this year is the Feeling of the holidays rather than the "list of to do's"!
Sending you a peace filled festive and joyous day -

its not about the presents and bows -it's the feeling you have in your heart

“It came without ribbons, it came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags.” “Maybe Christmas (he thought) doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas perhaps means a little bit more.
The Grinch.

Hanukkah starts December 14th
Christmas Eve December 24th
Christmas Day December 25th
Kwanza December 26th
it is always a joy to be here with you!

For the first time in almost 30 years my brother, his wife and 2 daughters are NOT going to Disney in Florida for Christmas. He says they might never go again.

Any way... I've been wide awake since 4:30. Dh has been up since before 7. I flipped the laundry to the dryer well before 6 a.m. and took it out of the dryer around 7. I've also done all 3 litter boxes. Dishwasher is empty.

Dh asked if there was anything I needed to do today. I told him it was all done. All I had on my list for today was dry and put away clothes, 3 litter boxes and empty dishwasher.

If anyone has looked in J&C, "GingerMom" has passed away. I read that over on Eddie's Villa Del Weenie on FBook.

Dh wants fish for supper. I told him we can have it but he has to cook it. The fish is whole and I'm not doing that. I don't even want to eat it.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Good morning, blessed, Cathy, all those who are only peeking in, and all those who come later!

I hope your home is feeling festive as you'd like, blessed.

Cathy, you can look forward to a nice, relaxing day. The fish would have me a bit squeamish, too. What are you likely to have instead? I do not remember GingerMom, but sorry to hear.

We are supposed to be working in the playroom in a few minutes. DD has not eaten yet, though, and DC has not even shown their face downstairs. We really need to work on the room, both for guests and because my treadmill arrived yesterday, and there is nowhere else to put It. (The long-term plan is to slide it under the credenza in the playroom.)

I also need to get the kids to hang ornaments on the tree. I don't want to hang the ones that are theirs, but the tree is filling up. We got a white pine this year, which I like for the soft needles, but the bushiness of it means there are fewer places to hang ornaments than there would be on a fir, say. And we have enough ornaments for two trees, I think.

No plans to leave the house today except to take DD to work -- and I should really harvest that thyme. Although, I just looked, and it says most varieties of thyme will survive the winter in Zone 7, while the rosemary might not, though the rosemary is looking pretty good. I think I will bring in some of the thyme to dry, though, since our jar is getting empty.
I've got my country's 500th anniversary to plan, my wedding to arrange, my wife to murder, and Guilder to frame for it; I'm swamped. -- Prince Humperdinck

I to have no plans to go any where today it's foggy and I can barely see across the street.
I have changed from nite gown to pj's / instead of s2s.
Need to do some laundry today.

I have mini loaf of corn bread in the oven I make it for ddoggo's treats.
Smells yummy now. Timer is on for 5 more min.
Used that 1st time session for my Prayer journal that worked really well.

So glad I did my store run yesterday.

I'm taking my first break of the day. I'm not a fan of being so busy but I am thankful for being physically and mentally able to do it.

My 3 things for today (decided these last night)
** Go through DD14 winter clothes, hoodies and coats. Have her remove anything she won't wear for whatever reason.
** 10 am DD14 appt with physical therapy
** haul mattress and shop trash can to dumpster.

in the last 5 hours I have -
** taken DD14 to physical therapy appointment.
** shopped local grocery store. unloaded and put away.
** made a pot of my favorite soup and divided it up into 6 servings
** drove 50 miles to take DD14 to see her mom (DD49)
** shopped for cold items at Sam's
** We went to our favorite drive-in for a meal. Since it’s rare for DH and me to be alone in the city without pressing appointments, I took advantage of the moment to do something we don’t often get to do.
** I got a text about an impromptu class gathering, so I took DH to meet his classmates. After saying hello to everyone and snapping some pictures, I left him to enjoy time with his lifelong friends and classmates. They’ll make sure he has a great time and gently help him if he gets confused.
** home to unload vehicle with frozen and cold things put away.

YAY!! Dh didn't take out the fish (I didn't either) and now we will be having Chinese take out!

Dh texted me when I was at knitting to let me know we would be having Chinese tonight! Happy dancing may have occurred while I was sitting and stitching. ;)

Not wanting to leave you 😔 in limbo lucylee!

This is a hard appt week. HRH also isn't feeling well. Today was a long appt for me. And even dd27, who was going to be able to give us some help, is under the weather.

Ds has had to feed Tobias for us one time.

Cathy thank you - I remember posting with GingerMom years back.

(((Harriet & HRH))))

A neighbor 3 doors down saw me walking our circle driveway so she came and joined me. We walked 14 laps while she poured her heart out about her current situation. I hate seeing anyone feel so miserable about their life, even if their own choices led them there. On the bright side, I managed to rack up another 4,000 steps while listening to her talk.
