Back to the basics, write it down, whether it's a digital list (Nancy is test driving Notion) or analog (old fashioned paper) or somewhere in between. Our minds are bursting with those pesty to dos: Christmas Eve is a week away, Christmas a week from tomorrow, and New Years Eve two weeks from today.
Use the day to write it all down, whether you're prepping, planning, regrouping (me!) or keeping your head above water...

Re: Write it down - Wednesday PWYC
Thank you for starting us off today Twins' Mom!
I do as much as I can on paper. I prefer writing to typing.
I do have a l!st for tomorrow's to-do's. Dh expects me to be out of the house and he always wants to know where I'm going on the days I don't have knitting. Everything tomorrow is to finish up Christmas stuff, other than groceries. I need to exchange his "sweatshirt" AKA half-zip hoodie, but without a hoodie.
It's really, really windy here today, but the temperature is above 32. I just went out to get the mail and I had snow pants on just to keep me warm because the wind is making it feel so much colder than it actually is. Most of the snow has melted because it may have rained last night.

Re: Write it down - Wednesday PWYC
Good morning
I am missing writing the 3 things I will do daily and also writing the 3 blessings at the end of the day. This is a new habit I am trying to form, but it got shoved to the side of my focus while dealing with DH memory loss episode and having an extra teen in the house. The benefits of having that habit is worth me trying again.
3 things today -
** 1pm appt with SSecurity to see if I am eligible to draw SS.
** 2pm get D14 from school (1.5 hours early from normal school ending time)
** 4:30pm take DD14 to her physical therapy appt.
hum...the appts on the calendar took all of my 3 things. I feel a little let down that I didn't get to choose something. Maybe tomorrow....
DS17 is officially unemployed. He had conversation with boss this morning and they decided to part way with no hard feelings.

Re: Write it down - Wednesday PWYC
I have a pretty quiet day today. Going to neighbors' for Hannukah this evening.
I need to get out and send a package to dd. It's going UPS. I wrapped up a small Hanukkah gift to take to her on our trip and then forgot it. Told her that as an adult, we don't get to open many pretty presents. I also purchased her a hair clip with a kitty on it at a winter fair booth. While out, I'll go by post office to get HOA mail and I should get some of our cards ready to mail.
I'm pretty unfocused today, after needing to get stuff done yesterday.
Three things, and I'll be back:
-address three cards
-clear and wipe kitchen island
-breakfast/brunch

Re: Write it down - Wednesday PWYC
Okay... this is such a weird thing to see in Canada...
There was a security guard at the dollar store. I read last night that it is just for the 2 weeks before Christmas. The parking lot was full when I got there and all the Christmas aisles were full of people along with the aisle with the health and beauty stuff. I walked towards the cash after I looked at the cat toys. The line was really long. I decided to go get another calendar. So I browsed that aisle and then another. A few minutes later I went back towards the cashiers. No line up! So I paid for my stuff and left. I've never seen a security guard at a dollar store before. Then again I'm usually done shopping before now.
Supper tonight is a chicken and broccoli pie from the freezer section of a local grocery store.

Re: Write it down - Wednesday PWYC
We see security guards at many stores, especially in the holiday season.
I finally got myself through those three things, although I still haven't eaten my fruit and yogurt. Lots of interruptions, the dog has been in and out.
I had a phone call from V and we caught up and aired our temple grievances. Dh used to order what was needed for the latkes (Friday night!) from a hotel supply place whose owners are members of the temple. He asked the temple to take care of ordering stuff this year and gave them a list. And apparently they couldn't find matzah meal so Instead of the temple administrator finding it, or ordering on Amazon, or sending the maintenance guy to find it, she asked the president to do it, and he called V and asked her to do it! (My answer would have been no, but she went to Whole Foods and found it.)
Dh went for a massage. I think I'm going to finish fruit and yogurt and go ahead into the great outdoors to run my errands....UPS store drop off, then post office. Both are likely to be quite busy.
I've addressed five cards and I wrote the inside note for my cousins that dh doesn't know, and left the other four. Dh might want to write the notes, if not, I will. Those five go out of town.
Oh, I also went into Quicken and entered the two checks that will be need to be written this month. The two I know of, at least. Will just need to print later in the month. I also need to write bonus cks for the cemetery for the temple employees and drop those off next week.
Ack, I didn't manage to post this!

Went out to UPS store and post office. Neither were that bad. I also stopped at CVS to get some of those lidocaine patches for my lower back, still bothering me since we got back. I sometimes use those at night but might break into them before bedtime.
I'm going upstairs to work on DAR apps. The chapter registrar kindly made the corrections to the first for me, and did the second, which is almost identical, printed and signed, and mailed them to me. I need to make a couple of changes to the "Analysis" and those documents.
UH oh, dog wants out AGAIN!

Re: Write it down - Wednesday PWYC
never made it to class today. Mornings are beginning to be difficult for Sweetie so I stayed home again. Waiting to hear from my brother about care taker services, but if he doesn't call me by tomorrow I have the name of a local service to call here. I'm only comfortable leaving Sweetie for an hour or so. I'm beginning to feel like a single mom again, only this time I have a mentally disabled 3.5 year old to take care of.
Yesterday I was able to wrap all my presents, write and mail 20 Cmas cards and finish my Cmas decorations. I decided I am only sending cards to people who send me one. Same with my nieces and nephews and their spouses. I'm tired of no one thanking me for my efforts. Sent their children cards, but no books this time for the same reason. Finally got my house back in order and just need to give it a good cleaning.
I saw Josh, my PT guy, this morning and he really worked on my shoulders and shoulder blades. I had no idea how frozen they were and its taking time to undo that.
Came home, got Sweetie and went to the grocery store. once back, we unloaded the car and I put al the groceries away. The new internet fellow showed up and we are now connect to the new server. Proud of myself because I ran into two problems with my tv and computer as they didn't seem to want to work the way the usually do, and was able to fix both
Need to by two gift cards for my son and ddil, but will take Sweetie with me tomorrow when I do it. Will work on the few cards I need to do tonight and then I will be finished with all this Cmas stuff...with the excepting of cookig Cmas Eve dinner for the kids. Even that I'm pairing down and have decided to make bake Ziti with chicken. One and done pan. Will add a salad and make an easy cream cheese cake
This will probable be the last Cmas with Sweetie. I'm not sure I will be able to keep him home by the time that next Cmas rolls around. He bought with my help, flowers from Amazon for my present. He was complaining that he didn't have a bathrobe...not that he ever wore one..so I bought it for him this year.
There are things that need to be attended to around the house but I'm not sure when I want to do it. It will depend on getting a helper here with Sweetie so they can keep him occupied while others are in the house.
Nancy...glad you are safe. That storm really sound like a hum dinger!

Re: Write it down - Wednesday PWYC
Hi! The wind has died down thankfully!! I walked to the mail box and back. A few minutes later the mail delivery person drove by and put something in our box, so I walked down the driveway again and this time it was just a flyer from the town council explaining what they did in 2025. Something to help me fall asleep if I'm desperate!!
(((RRose))) I know what you mean. We will be asking if dh can get a PSW to come in to help dh shower. Thankfully that appointment is less than a week away.
