Groundhog Day PWYC
Is spring coming to your world? It sounds like LadyM will be seeing spring weather this week, are there more of us? I've had what seems like unending cold and Harriet is snowed in, will spring ever come to us?
And apologies to the movie - what do you do in your home that feels like you're doing over and over and over and over again?
(we do have a backyard groundhog that we see occasionally - I wonder if he's about today?0

Re: Groundhog Day PWYC
Thank you for starting us today Twins' Mom! So far 4 of the 4 weather animals (one was a lobster) have "predicted" an early spring.
My over and over and over again jobs? Dishes, mopping between the bed and the toilet, making meals, grocery shopping, banking... I guess ALL of it.
This morning dh has been sleeping on the couch/sofa. I swept the whole house. I mopped the whole house. I got dishes into the sink to pre soak. All pots/pans and large utensils are on the left side of the sink waiting. I've been on FBook. I did some dusting. I sprayed febreeze in all the rooms and the hall.
I think I just need to make the bed and wipe the island and actually fill the dishwasher.
The sun is shining here, but it's cold.

Re: Groundhog Day PWYC
Good morning! Thanks for opening us up, Twins! You've been busy, Cathy!
Cold & sunny here, too. The 10-day forecast says we might break freezing in a week or so. I'm hoping we get a good mid-February thaw this year. I remember some years, we get a nice taste of spring in mid- to late February-- but then it goes back to being cold. OTOH, I also remember the year it snowed for my dfriend K's daughter's first Communion the first weekend of May.
I think I may need to light a fire under DC. They need to leave in :25, and I haven't seen their face downstairs yet. I wouldn't be worried if they were the sort to come downstairs ready to go. Debating whether I have enough time to throw in a load of wash before we go.

Re: Groundhog Day PWYC
Good morning
We are back to our normal routine so now I will see if I overscheduled myself with the hourly pathway tweaks that I added while being housebound. Today was the first day that I've left the house in NINE DAYS!
I had to walk through a snow drift that was taller than my shoes so I got snow inside my shoe while getting to my vehicle. When I got back home, I parked in a different location where there is less snow/ice.
They had the school parking lots cleared of ice/snow. The ice/snow removed is now piled taller than the top of my vehicle, so it is going to take some time in melting.
DD49 called to ask if we would take a lab that she is fostering. I think labs are amazing & awesome dogs, but I am not interested in owning one. No thank you.

Re: Groundhog Day PWYC
I was up at eight. Today have workout and dinner out, and bank deposit when I am out for workout.
It's cloudy right now but supposed to be sunny and high mid forties. Tomorrow is high in fifties and rain, perhaps the spell is broken here. I'm so sorry Harriet is snowed it - hoping for a fast melt off. Twelve inches of snow is a lot.
I sent reminders yesterday for HOA dues. Made one error - send a reminder when I hadn't recorded the payment from the website, apologized this a.m. And two more checks received after reminder email.

Re: Groundhog Day PWYC
UP now slept till 7:00
woke up with headache & dishes in sink.
Made bed
started duds 2nd load in now.
Baking lunch now to eat later.
Rounded up the trash ahead of trash day Tues.
QT & bullet journaling & morning pages have happened.
My mojo I have power and using it!
Being up and moving around has helped.
It does feel great to get these things done.
I did not do the p.m. routine chores last nite but did shower before bed.
Glad I made out a list for when I go to the store eventually.
I also made a list of places I like to eat or get take out.
Places I could go that will have heat like thrift shops; library, dson's.
If I do not need them I can always work it in to a gap in a story! LOL!
Temps are like yesterday except a bit colder and we have frost this morning.
Rinsed lather & repeat / DD called same stuff diff. day.

Re: Groundhog Day PWYC
I’ve been to class and Einstein is going.
Good Grief Kathy you’ve been really busy this morning.i need to do some dusting and mopping around here after Einstein does his work. I also have some laundry to fold
It’s still cold here… 33 this morning with another cold front later this week. I’m not under snow or ice but I do love this cold weather.
Waving to y’all… be back later

Re: Groundhog Day PWYC
Sending ~~~Good Day Vibes~~~ to blessedw2 and her dmother!
((LadyM)) hope there's not much bruising today. Congratulations to the newly engaged couple.
We're fine but there's internet loss at ddolder's house. Nothing she can handle, it's the internet coming into the house. Only one of the boys even got counted "present" today before it happened, and it was to be an extremely busy day for her at work, leading others whose day is now a problem, too. She has a call in and at least an automated response giving her a repair appt time between noon and 4. If that doesn't happen (and some would wonder how it could), or if there is still no fix, dgsC may have to get over here somehow and use our internet to get an assignment done.
HRH would actually love that. He has space in his office and enjoys the boys so much - he would probably tempt dgsC to play a computer game with him.
With both our thinking caps on here, there's a plan for making the embroidery into an oval applique. Gee, it's hard to just come up with an oval of the right length and height, you know? We found one on the net and HRH enlarged, then I cut in half exactly. By elongating in the old-school, scotch tape method
I can make a template, then get it into the brightly lit window for a lightbox and trace the image onto the fabric.
What happens over and over again? HRH can't find his favorite hat, marches around the house and criticizes the elves who won't leave his hat where he puts it. Simple solution? A favorite hat HOOK, perhaps. Btw, P and P's suggestion of a pocketbook place not far from the door has saved ME who knows how much time in the ensuing 3 decades. At the children's houses visiting, the family is used to hearing me hesitantly say, "Now... ..if you were my pocketbook, where would you be?" lol
Speaking of whom, dd27 just called. She carpooled with dsonil today, he dropped her at work and went on to his - they made it fine, thank goodness, but it seemed chancy to both of them and they're not too pleased with employers today.
And LadyM, dd27 also slipped and fell. Some bruising but will be fine.

Re: Groundhog Day PWYC
Sor far, I've been able to keep up with hourly pathways. I'm a little bit shocked because I thought it would be almost impossible. I haven't made it through an entire normal day so I'm not declaring it a success yet.
The office of DD14 trusted counselor called to reschedule her appointment because the counselor mother passed. Although it is because of a sad reason, I'm thankful that we won't be making that trip to the city this evening because a lot of the streets and parking lots still have ice/snow on them.
Groundhog day is traditionally when we plant onion and potatoes here. If you plant by the moon, then it is also in the right moon phase of waning gibbous 99% of the Moon is Illuminated to plant underground. However, my raised beds are still covered in snow/ice. I scrapped off some of the ice/snow to get to the dirt, but the soil is frozen. Hum.... What to do? I need the sunshine to melt everything so I can plant onions and potatoes!
