ReWardable Wednesday

Post by Harriet »

Don't forget to show appreciation to the expert who knows so much about your household that she manages to steer the whole joint right most of the time... .. You.

How do you decide when to reward yourself? Do you wait until the end of a project, with the reward as one item in mind? Or do you reward first, get things done later? Do you reward for scale victories, for weekly-plan victories, for consistency? Or do you just surprise yourself because you probably deserve it for the things you don't even remember doing?

Thank you for the start, Harriet, and a reminder that we need to reward and appreciate ourselves.

I'm about three quarters of the way through my kitchen deep cleaning and decluttering project, but I was feeling a bit discouraged as the ongoing project to remake one of the cupboards has stalled as the new door that MJ (our handyman) ordered, hasn't been delivered yet. It's just one of those things, and no one's to blame. MJ is very conscientiously checking in every few days with a (lack of) progress report on delivery, and DH is getting grumpy as the kitchen is a bit upside down ATM. I'm also not worried, as I haven't paid anything "up front" for any of this, so, it takes as long as it takes.

To give me a "boost", I went ahead and ordered the fabric for my new kitchen tablecloths, and it arrived today. :D Opening the package game me such an excited, joyful feeling. One fabric is a red and white check gingham, the other is red and cream stripes with little cream hearts. As my table is quite small, even when extended, I should have enough material to make four tablecloths - a nice, relaxing project to work on, and, as I'm planning to hand sewing them (at least until DH retires, so there's no conflict over the table in the office!) it's something I'll be able to pick up and put down easily.

Kittykatt, i.was "seeing" red checks as soon as I read kitchen cloth. You'll enjoy that project.

Ds and I are at my appt and things are going quickly. My appt is one of the early ones, ahead of what will be an influx of extra patients who have been postponed over the last couple days.

Our trip was safe as soon as we got out onto a main road.

I did ten laps around my drive way [no ice or snow here to worry about].
I wanted to see the glorious pink sunrise!
Worth it!
Then had some hot coffee with creamer.

I rewarded myself for getting out of bed
on a day I was feeling a bit rough around the edges
with Constant Comet tea with cloves added.

Goal; bathe ddoggo today a blt later on when it warms up
near 60* today for us here.

Waving!

I did QT in my bright pink Woman of Faith book
God's Promises For Women of faith.
A reward I thrifted for my self last time I was out at that store.
It's hot pink and had large enough print a 4" x6 " book small enough to be
put in a purse and is very portable. This was a reward!

Reading time in other news books also a reward after some work aka chores
home blessing knitting.

Some days I give myself a hand stand up clap and shout wa-hoot! and cheer myself on!

TIP Of The Day;

No Cook Meals Card.
Get some items to have on hand you just never know.
In the town across the river some one hit a power pole and a section is out of
power this morning. I just shopped for those type of items yesterday. It comes up again.
Just a gentle reminder.

Your table clothes sound lovely KittyKatt.

Millie and I are both feeling sluggish today. I knew she would be off yesterday because of the meds to take her to the vet, but she's still sleeping. She considered going out once, but it's wet and it was a no. We are socked with fog, supposedly until noon today and it's to be cloudy. Temps to drop and clear again tomorrow with a high of forty. It's a balmy 44 now.

Dh has gone out to see the guy about his bowling balls, and he has lunch out too. I'm making chili for our supper.

I offered to take ddog for a walk and she didn't want me to put on the harness, so I'm eating my brunch now.

☀️Good morning, everyone.

(((Twins and Millie))), thinking of you today. It’s so good she got seen and can be treated so quickly.

Good morning

The OH door fella is here doing repair on two of the garage doors. When they let me know they had received the parts and asked to come this morning, I let them know that we had to leave at 10:45 for dentist appointment. They will be finished before that.

DD14 was chatty on the way to school. I always enjoy listening to her.

The pathways steps are in progress and keeping up with hourly plans. All the floor cards for today are done. I washed the filters and collection cup on the vacuum which is a weekly card.

Good morning (barely, here)!

Have not done as much as I'd like thus far today. DC was supposed to put air in my tires before we left, and they overslept, so I ended up putting the air in. It's still not happy; I think one of the rear tires may be low, though they don't look it. Oh, well, DC can do them when they're back from class.

Cold today, but sunny and calm, so it doesn't feel so bad.

When I get through here, I will have some lunch and do my chair exercises before going to start a load of wash. I can't remember if I have a load in the dryer to fold. I will sit and play the one phone game I keep up with while waiting for the wash to finish -- there's a reward for you! We'll see if the mail comes before it's time to pick DC up. That'll keep me busy for a while.

Good to see Bama peeking in!

I hope everyone has a good day!
