Friday Conga PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

Back into conga mode, today's the day for that iconic conga line all through the day! Jump in when you're ready, drop back when you're done...the music is here!

I'm up to get dMillie to vet for surgery. Was up at five to get Trazadone into her and have read since, with her on the foot of the bed. She's been in and out all night trying to go again so I haven't had much sleep. Off to vet in a minute, and I'll nap once she's delivered.

Dh has gone to rotary meeting. He has lunch out with a dfriend, then is helping dfriend cook the dinner at temple tonight. I'll be staying home with ddog tonight.

When I woke up this morning there were big fluffy flakes of snow falling gently to the ground. I might stay home from the Friday Fibre group today..

PSW is scheduled for 11 a.m. I'll ask him what the roads are like.

I have 3 litter boxes to clean today. I might also do some spot mopping.

This morning we discussed what will be for supper on Sunday. Dh said he would prefer chicken wings to chili. No problem. Tonight dh wants pasta and meat sauce. When I told him I would have to go out for some spaghetti sauce, he changed his mind slightly. Now he wants cheeseburger hamburger helper because we have 1 box of that in the pantry. He craves it occasionally.

This sat here while I wondered off to ask about breakfast and I got the dishes soaking in the sink, then I went and looked for my phone... then I cuddled with a small cat...

Any ways........ I'm back. Sheesh... dh just decided that breakfast now would be good. Five minutes ago he didn't want breakfast yet.

lol on the breakfast d cathy. it's because you are a good cook!!!

thinking of sweet millie d twins!!!

hello everyone!

I made my first poolish "is a type of preferment—a "sponge"—used in bread baking to enhance flavor, aroma, and texture without the long-term maintenance of a sourdough starter." it looks beautiful - I also made pizza dough for tonight as I have Italian sausage that needs to be used.

today:
clean fridge
floors - first floor - my floors have been bad every day - the salt is a problem - dh will not use slippers and after so long - I doubt that he ever will. 8-) ;)
I have to update my cards to add additional dailies.
fold mom's laundry

I have decided to make a couple doubles of different soups for freezer - I am down to one container.
I also want to have things premade for the week.

Next week start going through closets again as they look cluttered again.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Blessed we deal with a lot of salt as well. I let it dry, then I sweep up the salt and then I mop the salty areas with hot water that has some vinegar in it. I found out many years ago that vinegar cleans salt stains. A car detailer told me that's how they get salt stains out of car mats, etc.

PSW has come and gone. This guy loves cats and spent some time talking to the cat and petting her.

The appliance repair company that came a couple of days ago has called to let me know that they have the parts and we have an appointment for Sunday morning. WOO HOO!!

One litter box has been cleaned and the dishwasher is going. There are 2 pans in the sink.

I also spot mopped a couple of places.

Hello, all!

Hoping for a swift and good outcome for Twins' dMillie's surgery.

Watching women's hockey -- the Swiss, after being behind to the Czechs at least since I tuned in at the beginning of the third period, tied it up late and are headed to overtime.

Plans for the day -- I have to conga out in the cold. I need to take DD to the library to fax forms for Medicaid application. She wants to go ASAP -- the forms are due today -- but she still has one to complete. She didn't quite understand all the instructions (it's government forms, who ever does? ;) ). Then, this afternoon, DC and I have appointments to give blood. The blood center is not far from her girlfriend's apartment, so I imagine she'll want to stay there. I won't be willing to make the extra stop unless DC has 1) made progress in signing up for road lessons, and 2) taken a turn shoveling the snow that is currently falling.

The hockey is headed to a shootout.

Next up for me is to make sure DC is up. And then probably to review DD's personal statement to make sure it covers everything they want covered.

And the Swiss win the shootout. Off to my adventures!

Mystery, will you please convey thanks to your DC for her thoughtfulness and awareness of other's needs.

:?: does anyone particularly use the "subscribe" feature here (emailed notification if someone posts in a topic to which you are "subscribed") and have you noticed that it still works for you as always? Have had a question about it. The email feature does seem to be working for me.

Thinking of Millie and hoping for all the best outcomes.

Hurray, Cathy! hope the repair is quick and efficient.

We had discussed going out on errands today. Haven't heard HRH say much about it, but I'm coming down to the last few days of being able to deposit an odd check from a settlement regarding the electric company here. I'll need a banker to scratch their heads with me and tell me how to endorse the back, since it was sent in my ddad's name, having been a mistake made during his lifetime! Actually, I think this should be possible, since I still maintain the account he and I had together, and even though the bank retains a copy of his death certificate, back then they didn't think it wise to take his name off the account. Hmmm... .. we'll have to see how this plays out. For reference, I could buy a pair of favorite Sket chers with this $ amount, so really nice to have, but not panic time if we are back to the drawing board and must contact company or law firm.

I have napped and read. The vet just called to let me know she's done with surgery and waking up, tumor about an inch x inch came out, stitches inside that dissolve. Teeth cleaned and one needed to come out. She'll come home with deramaxx for pain for a few days. And I'll get her around four p.m. today. I let dfriend M know that I saw her sweet Ruby too and need to text her about dMillie. They went on long planned trip to NJ for the weekend for grand d's birthday but will be home Monday.

I need to pull myself together and shower. Haven't done anything today. I got a bacon egg cheese biscuit on my way home this morning so I need to eat too. I don't know how I'm going to pry my bottom up, and motivate myself.
