Rainy Sunday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

LadyM mentioned getting rain, and we're having rain almost all day. It's probably raining at Lucylee's and Harriet will have rain too.

I think there's nothing like a day when rain comes down outside, and one doesn't have to go out in it all.

Here's hoping that snow up north is soon turning to spring showers for you too!

Twins, I love rainy days when I don’t have to be out in it!
However. Go I must.
Church… dbil’s bday lunch… garbage to the road…
TTYL — hope you all have a great day!
Tomorrow is another day.

Hi!

No rain in our forecast. The snow is receding, which is nice. It's mid February but most of our province has already broken records for one thing or another related to the weather. (Most snow, coldest month, etc.)

I am doing more laundry. Working on getting some blankets done.

Today I MUST get the litter boxes done.

I also need to make chili for dh. I have leftover pasta sauce, so I'm going to make myself pasta tonight.

We have an appointment to go to the nurse's clinic at 4 p.m. I think both of those guys are coming to see the garage today because neither one showed up yesterday. At least one of them called to explain that they had to cancel.

I helped dh with his shower this morning. He also needed help putting the freestyle libre sensor on his arm and setting up his FSL monitor to "connect" with the sensor on his arm. He is certainly having a rough day today.

RamblinRose I'm thinking about you and wondering if everything is okay.

Thinking about all of our village with caretaking on their minds.

We had a good day out yesterday - a little of a wrinkle when our show tickets wouldn't load and it turned out dfriend V had purchased six, made an error somehow when she transferred them, and "our" tickets ended up being scanned by her dd and dgs, who were already inside. Then, once box office let us in, her dd didn't know where her own tickets were because she never got the tickets for her seats. All was well that ended well. I've seen the movie "Sound of Music" many many times but never the show, so it was quite satisfying in its own way. I had wondered if I wouldn't be seeing Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer every time I looked at the leads, but it a great show. The guy who was the Captain role wasn't anywhere near as handsome as Christopher Plumer was, tho. My ideal of handsome in that era....

We had dinner out after, early, and were home by sevenish perhaps. A great time, I love spending time with them.

Ddog actually ate yesterday and again this a.m., and dh said the "deposit" this morning was the most he'd seen in awhile.

I supposedly received the last HOA dues check yesterday but it wasn't in my mailbox last night when we got home. I'm wondering if it was placed in the wrong mailbox. Once the rainfall rate drops I'll need to go looking. (He sent me an image, envelope with my name on it and check, so if someone else finds it I'll get it, but that would be tomorrow probably.)

Dh was supposed to be out this afternoon tasting bourbon with a friend but the friend's kids have the flu. So he's in for the day too.

I ordered Instacart. Our supper is a sausage, tomato and barley soup, and tomorrow night we'll have more of those pork chop leftovers...

Yes, we are having especially rainy rain :) quite a wet day, for sure. Very disappointed in a delivery guy who came this a.m. and barely tossed HRH's new sweater onto a step, where the flimsy package was completely out in the open. Sigh. And it wasn't in any "exterior" packaging, just in the see-through bag. So, I guess disappointment extends further to the sender, as well. I think it's okay - it's the only "nice" thing "I've" given him lately (I nag and encourage and he finally agrees to look at clothing for a couple minutes, to choose).

Very much enjoyed the online service this a.m. Glad because I'd only been able to catch part of a study yesterday.

Hoping Cathy and dh have an easier day the rest of the day. We have virtually no med offices open here on Sundays. Used to have some doctor's offices that opened Sat mornings, but that was about it for weekends. Just Urgent Cares would be options.

Chili has been made, so now it's going to sit and simmer for a few hours.

Dishwasher has been emptied and I'm going to start reloading shortly.

But first... (now that I have brought in some clean litter from the huge bag in the garage)... cat litter boxes need to be emptied, cleaned, etc.

Other than that, I think I'm almost done for the day.

All clean laundry is away.

I had my brunch and the groceries were delivered. I'm wishing I had paid more attention, store was out of my purified water for the CPAP, and shopper replaced 10 oz of spinach with 5 oz, and 18 eggs with 12. My own fault, tho.

Dh is dozing in front of the TV. He mentioned going out but hasn't so far, I'm not sure what his timing was. I'm going to take a little walk and see if I can find the HOA check.... :? :?

Good afternoon

We attended early church service this morning and enjoyed the camaraderie of worshiping with church family. I miss being part of the behind-the-scenes that happens for the many volunteer positions that keep a church running. Although, after 5 decades of volunteering, I know it is time to step aside and slide into the role of encourager to the younger generations as they step up and serve.

I walked in the rain yesterday just because I could. Sometimes it is the simple things that bring pleasure. There wasn't any lighting and it wasn't a downpour, so it was a perfect opportunity.

We have bright sunshine today with temps in the 70's. This is one of the brief times of the year that it is not too hot...not too cold...but just right.

Aaaaaand, HOA check found in another mailbox with a similar #, it's drying out a bit. I woke dh up and he's leaving soon, and I'm upstairs on my own for a bit. I hardly know what I want to do....I could backtrack and do the labeling I was wanting to do the other evening...or read....or stamp....or research!

LadyM, I have considered stepping back into our temple leadership. I'm on the budget committee now, and told the nominating committee that I would consider being treasurer again, depending on the leadership team. But the guy who is ending two years as prez says he's going to stay on another year (IMHO, not his decision but the nominating committee's) and we would butt heads horribly. They have lined up a great Administrative VP, the guy who was president after me, and I'd enjoy working with him.
