Re: Jean-Antoine Watteau Wednesday
Jean-Antoine Watteau ( baptised 10 October 1684 – died 18 July 1721 was a French painter and draughtsman whose brief career spurred the revival of interest in colour and movement, as seen in the tradition of Correggio and Rubens. He revitalized the waning Baroque style, shifting it to the less severe, more naturalistic, less formally classical, Rococo. Watteau is credited with inventing the genre of fêtes galantes, scenes of bucolic and idyllic charm, suffused with a theatrical air. Some of his best known subjects were drawn from the world of Italian comedy and ballet.

Re: Jean-Antoine Watteau Wednesday
Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday!
Laura, huge congratulations to you and your DD and DSil - what wonderful news! So sorry about the loss of your DAunt.
I hope your supper was successful, Helia!
Bama, many of us are introverts here, so we understand!
KitKat, I'm glad you had fun with your DGrandkids.
L.Ann, that's a lot of reading!
Trissie, WTG surviving meetings without falliing.asleep! And for progress trimming the chokeberry bush.
Gma, that sounds DS a very complicated process with your Dmother"s House. So glad you're enjoying time.with your family! Also, thank you for the reminder - had anyone seen Peaches recently? I hope she's ok.
Dogged , I'm sure Germane looks even more beautiful after her grooming. I hope her vet visit goes well today.
Yesterday was just "busy" , but with nothing of any great consequence. On the plus side, the new broadband is working well, my hall floor is now mopped, and I did give the sitting room its weekly clean. Today DH is travelling to Leeds by train for work. (I failed to persuade him to do his packing yesterday evening, so I'm hoping he does it forget anything this morning!) I'll drop him off at the station, and then make my plans for the rest of the day.

There is a hardy geranium that's looking sad, but it might do better with less competition and more light? Maybe I could just sow some low growing hardy annuals and see what happens?

Re: Jean-Antoine Watteau Wednesday
DH has been safely deposited at the train station, I amd back home, Fred has had his walk and we've both shared some Greek yogurt. Jude is missing DH already - she's very much "his" cat, and she's sitting on the kitchen table requesting head rubs. I think cleaning the kitchen will be delayed for such a good cause!

Re: Jean-Antoine Watteau Wednesday
Good morning Kittykatt! Thanks for the start. I was not familiar with Watteau... Beautiful work, even though it's not my style.. Looks like another busy day for you. Hope it stays dry - we've got the rain today:)
Temperature dropped considerably: it reached 20 C yesterday... but we are lucky: we are getting the big rains while Montreal is supposed to get a LOT of freezing rain...
We already had a little storm around 4-5 a.m. Thankfully, pup does not fuss.
I think I need to accept that until all my dgkids get back to school I have little hope of accomplishing anything here...
Today, I got until 1 p.m to get something done. During that time, I need to walk pup. I think it will be a store walk if it's pouring.
Starting w MR.

Aw, poor Jude. Enjoy your day with DH away, Kitty. And thank you for another artistic start. I'm not familiar with Watteau - or perhaps I've just forgotten. His work is amazing. Interesting that Italian comedy was an inspiration.
Gma, I'm so glad you can get back into the editing work.
kitkat, are the grandkids out of school because of spring break? Weather?
Yes - the dinner last night was a success! There were 7 of us and eventually 8 + puppy as dd27 dropped by with Fable around 7:30. The food was good. Dh made a new recipe that involved roasting pans of wedged cabbage, white beans, and kielbasa. The flavoring was kind of vinegary-mustardy, which may not sound good but actually worked well with the sausage, cabbage, and beans. Corn bread was well received as was the salad. Guests went home around 8:30. We did after dinner clean up and garbage and recycling and that was about it.
Today is a day with not much on my calendar - but lots to do. I am happy to have a less scheduled day to catch up on some things. Tomorrow will be another scheduled day. We are watching Fable tonight. It looks like there's a good chance for rain much of today. I'll try to dodge the rain and get in a jog.
