Ta-Da Tally Tuesday PWYC

Post by Twins' Mom »

It's Ta-Da Tuesday again, let's hear it for all the accomplishments, large and small, all throughout the village today! Bring 'em on and cheer, all day long.

Too often we dwell on the tasks ahead of us and don't celebrate those that we finish and put behind us.

Good morning! Thanks for opening us up, Twins! I tried to CUOP, but there was just too much. So forgive me if I missed anything important.

DH is home today for St. Patrick's Day; the school is closed. I think "officially" this is a free day "earned" by the students for making their Scholarship Drive (raffle) quota, but the quota is always made. Plenty of the students are participating in the parade, and plenty more are headed down to watch it (and might even have been given "sick" notes by their parents if they didn't have the day off). I think this year, Cleveland may be wishing it wasn't one of the few places to hold a parade on the day itself rather than the weekend. There would have been much more pleasant weather. I imagine they'll have crowds, though, in spite of the below-freezing temperatures and high winds. People will just huddle together. DH proposed to me at the parade 35 years ago today. It's one of the only times I actually went down to see it. Actually, I think it was the only time I went specifically to see the parade -- other times were just taking a late lunch when I was working downtown. Not Irish, so not a big deal for me. Of course, there are those who turn "Irish" just for one day of carousing. Anyhow, he proposed near the middle of Public Square right after the parade when they hadn't quite opened up the streets yet. So more special for being proposed to in the center of town rather than for the parade.

Not sure which of us is going to drive DC to school; I think we should each do one way, since it's a short turnaround. OTOH, I won't complain if DH offers to do both.... Well, he's doing this leg, anyway.

Apparently a meteor hit somewhere near here??? Heard a boom this morning, and according to DH's messages that's what it was. Will have to check the news stations to see.

I suppose I should see if I can accomplish something to put in my ta-das. Have a great day, Twins, Nancy, and all who come after!

Happy TaDa Tuesday
Happy St. Patrick's Day
Happy Meteor?

It's so interesting about the meteor making a sonic boom, Mystery. But green? I didn't know it would be green. Anyway, "usually harmless", I read. So that's good.

We had plans for going out today, but a few roadblocks have turned up. Waiting to see about that.

Little TaDas around here include
spiffing in the kitchen
starting the indoor plant care rotation
call with dr re HRH's script renewal

Ddolder's family continues the marathon of doctor's appts she schedules for spring break. Two today.

Ta da! Back home again. Earlier I got through a.m. routine, got a letter to an archive into the mail, did a few other satisfying things. Dh and I picked up dcousin and had nice lunch out. Took her by drugstore to get a script and got her home, then dh and I went to JJill. I got a couple of pair of pants that fit me, and a couple of tops. And then, ta da! I got glasses adjusted, both regular and sunglasses!

So we're back home and I'm going to try to complete our tax return. Working on dd's last week nearly killed me, lol.

Forgot about St. Patrick until we were heading out and dh asked where my green was.

What a special day to remember. Thanks for sharing it with us. It made me smile.

I found myself still awake and talking with teens at 2am this morning. I totally blew my effort in establishing earlier bedtime habit last night. Ohs well. Hopefully I will do better with getting timely sleep and being kind to my body.
Raising teenagers is a nonstop experience.

I'm focusing on the basic necessities to keep family taken care of. Anything above those basic necessities has a high probability of not happening today.

It's been a Desk Day for sure, here. But successful calls, successful decisions. HRH managed some pdf wrangling for me. Basically, the phone has been ringing all day.

Oh, that reminds me I still have one more phone call to make.

Road construction here is ominous, loud. I suppose they are just repairing?

Chatted with several dcousins. One saying she has just been nervous all day, but we counseled about that for a while, and think it is partially because an old friend of hers passed away yesterday. Nervousness is an odd reaction, maybe, but I think she is just processing.

Expecting a delivery now, and wondering if they can get by all the road construction vehicles.

Next up, extra laundry.

Hi!

I did almost nothing today.

I woke up and got dressed. I made hot chocolate and coffee when dh woke up. PSW came and went. We both went and laid on the bed after PSW left. I finished reading a book that I tried to finish last night. I worked on my cross stitching. I made myself something to eat. Dh wasn't hungry. I turned on the dishwasher and went back to bed and slept until a few moments ago.

It's almost time for supper. Dh will be having soup and grilled cheese. I don't know what I will be having. Maybe tomato soup.

Laundry never stops.

Still studying our federal tax return and making small adjustments. Ya'll won't believe this: before dh retired he flew with a colleague to CA to have dinner with him and a client and fly back, I think on the red-eye overnight. His company reported California income for him and withheld CA tax on it. So now I have to struggle with a CA return - averted eyes - right now it's CLEARLY incorrect, I need a correct federal return first tho, so I'm pointedly ignoring it.

Dd just called - I didn't pick up because I still feel so shell-shocked about her state NY/NJ returns. I called back but had to leave a message, so I fulfilled my obligation.

And the dog wants me to go outside with her. She's not happy if she's outside alone, and she's not happy when she's inside with me. In the rare moment that she's happy outside w/o me, she's barking at someone walking by in front.
