The Thoroughbred is a horse breed developed for horse racing. Although the word thoroughbred is sometimes used to refer to any breed of purebred horse, it technically refers only to the Thoroughbred breed. Thoroughbreds are considered "hot-blooded" horses that are known for their agility, speed, and spirit.

The Thoroughbred, as it is known today, was developed in 17th- and 18th-century England, when native mares were crossbred with imported stallions of Arabian, Barb, and Turkoman breeding. All modern Thoroughbreds can trace their pedigrees to three stallions originally imported into England in the 17th and 18th centuries, and to a larger number of foundation mares of mostly English breeding. During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Thoroughbred breed spread throughout the world; they were imported into North America starting in 1730 and into Australia, Europe, Japan and South America during the 19th century. Millions of Thoroughbreds exist today, and around 100,000 foals are registered each year worldwide.

Thoroughbreds are used mainly for racing, but are also bred for other riding disciplines such as show jumping, combined training, dressage, polo, and fox hunting. They are also commonly crossbred to create new breeds or to improve existing ones, and have been influential in the creation of the Quarter Horse, Standardbred, Anglo-Arabian, and various warmblood breeds.

Good morning everyone and happy Thursday!

This is just a quick start, and I'll CUOP later, as I have to be OTD early today - I really need to pick up Fred's and Matilda's food and meds before church today, as it's parish lunch afterwards!

I do, however have a very smart garage roof to report, after a successful day yesterday!😀

And now I can say a proper Good Morning! :D

L.Ann, you had a productive day as ever!

Bama, WTG getting the fridge cleaned before it got too sticky!

Kitkat, I've never come across icicle pansies before, but they sound pretty!

Dogged, WTG sneaking your breakfast before Germane woke up!

Helia, it's a good feeling.to have all the groceries for the week, isn't it?😀

WTG with getting tax stuff prepared, Gma. I've never had a fan iny bathroom, I just open the window and squeegee and wipe everything after my shower, and we don't have mould. (When I do notice a few spots, I zap them with the mould spray, leave the window open and then shut the door for a while until the smell has gone.)

What an on-the-nose SHEM.

Isn't a SHEM always such a valuable bonus to the compliment we're already receiving, that our friends want to chat with us?

Monday, LadyM offered this one in PWYC, ""Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better." — Maya Angelou.

Today I'm joining Kittykatt in needing to be out the door early. Drinking extra early water now, to be sure I'm hydrated for an eye appt. Quite a distance, so will be on the road a good bit through the morning.

I have a slightly irritated Tobias the cat at my feet, suggesting I probably want to feed him early.

Everyone have the Thursday you've been wanting to experience.

☀️Good morning!

Gma, you’re much more organized than I am on the taxes. Mine is all paper that I gather together and give to someone else to decipher. I used to be able to do my own when it was a one page form but it’s much too complicated now. They even expect me to print out my tiny savings account and claim it, on money that’s already been through the system at least once. Makes no sense.

Thanks for the start, kittykatt. Spiffy roof! You’ve got a lot going on today.
Reminds me I need to add that clipped lil man’s nails yesterday, they were almost grown into his pads.

Hi Harriet, I hope all goes well with your eye appointment. My cats were swarming around my legs so I quickly threw out some canned tins of food so they could eat. They’re like sharks in the morning, circling their prey.

I’ve got my coffee so going to watch a little news while I sip, and retrieve my list from yesterday.
