Good Friday PWYC
It's Good Friday, so have a good Friday, however or whatever you celebrate in real life!
What makes for a good day? Some jobs completed, some time to relax, time with family and friends, here's hoping for all for you!
The board seems to be running slowly, hope we're all able to check in our good days!

Hi, everyone! Let's Conga!
I notice several of us are here at the same moment on this s-l-o-w day on the boards. Server seems to have a problem although we have no notification.
If great minds think alike and we have more than one topic, that's cool, too.

Re: Good Friday PWYC
Good morning
There were 3 PWYC for today when I finally was able to get here. I've tried posting on the oldest one but it kept timing out.
I need to get some planning done for Sunday food. We will be attending Sonrise service followed by potluck breakfast with church family. Then we will go to an extended family gathering for DH side which also includes another potluck meal. I want to decide on the dishes I will be making for both of these potlucks and get the food prep accomplished as much as I can before Sunday.
We will be attending Good Friday service this evening.
Sharing DD14 good news with her SHE Aunties - She won a 2nd place medal yesterday in the science scholastic contest. She also received hardback book with her published story.
Let's see if I can get this to post.

Re: Good Friday PWYC
I posted a huge brain dump list and thought I hit submit but it is not here. I came to edit it. How annoying. In a nutshell, this is an overwhelming weekend and upcoming week with much to do in the next 3 days especially.
Today complete paperwork, organize room, get ready for handover - this is my last day of teaching for the forseeable future. Kind of sad.
I need to go to office and fill out another I9 to prove I am legal to work in the US after teaching with them for 24 years - really? Stupid. Got to go find passport.
Also need to take a check for dental insurance that if I had known how expensive it was for the year I would not have done it, we only get our teeth cleaned twice a year - no huge dental needs. Should have gone with hubby's.
Have a massage at 7:30 becuase I was supposed to go at 10 but forgot and she has changed my appointment every time in in the last 5 years, I go every 2 weeks and I screwed up and forgot to change the title from 12:15 Monday to 10 on Friday, it still said 12:15. So she just moved me.
Tomorrow we need to grocery shop and need to preprep for Sunday Easter Brunch, I am the organizer and making 3 dozen deviled eggs, gluten free brownies. sliced strawberries and anglefood cake with whipped topping, lil smokies and croissants and the oj punch - a friend who couldn't be at church, my co planner gave me money to cover her contributions I just have to make them.
Got a message from on parishioner so it tells me I need to send a reminder out to everyone to have the food there before 10 :15. I am working the entire early service getting everything ready other than I must do Children's chapel as well.
We also are hosting as Parish Life a wine and cheese party after vigil so must shop for that and create a chacurterie board and buy 5 bottles of wine we have plenty of non alcoholic.
Shop for my friend as well.
Taxes are coming up, I have to make a Power POint and plan my presentation for the morning of the 13th
Call friend who is carpooling with me to make plans.
Middle sister, I am oldest is in the middle of triple bypass surgery right now, this was very sudden, I will go either Easter Eve or next week to see her, she is over 2 hours away in the hospital.
Just found out FIL fell off his bike and separated his shoulder and has stitches in his hand, he is 86 and this is his second wreck this year. Told him I was getting him training wheels. He is stubborn and won't stop riding.
Dog is nearing end of life and we have that hard decision to make soon. He is ok today but so many many issues that will not resolve.
Off I go, at least the weather is gorgeous.

Re: Good Friday PWYC
The board IS very slow today, but at least I was able to get in! Last night, I kept getting the message about "resource limit" or something.
I understand about the overwhelm, Costumelady. That was my post on our SHE facebook page last night -- this whole week has been overwhelming. We've had church services every day at noon, I've helped with the meals two days, someone has needed something afterwards every day -- dgrands, dmom, something. Tonight we have a Good Friday service and ddil and dgd and I will go to that. DS and DGS had already made plans to go to a high school baseball game and they are going to do that.
Tomorrow will be nothing out of the ordinary, but it will be tiring because dgrands will be here, and then Sunday, church and probably eat out with my dmom. DS and DDIL are singing at church, and I think dmom is going to come to our church.
(((Hugs))) for your last day of teaching.
Also (((HUGS))) for your sister and your dfil! My goodness -- when it rains, it pours! (((Ddog)))
Congratulations to LadyM's dd!!! Science award AND a published story! You go, girl!
I think I am going to conga back to the bed. I just do not feel well. My stomach has been giving me fits this week. ChatGTP says to try Metamucil -- that it is a different fiber than Benefiber, and it should help diarrhea as well as constipation. I may get some from my dmom so I can try it before I buy it. She takes it religiously to avoid constipation... but I know gastroenterologist recommended it 10 years ago when I had my colonoscopy, which was perfect, but I had the same complaints. It sounds counter-productive, but gastro doctor AND ChatGTP both say it works for both problems. Benefiber did seem to make things worse, but ChatGTP assures me that is because it is a different type of fiber.
I will have to s2s and wash my hair before church, which is at 6:00 pm. I'm going to rest a while more before I do that.

Update: they look beautiful! Just right, letting everything cool, will do chocolate next dip or drizzle next, and also adding a little chopped up almond on top. (Dh didn't get the roasted, salted almonds, just blanched almonds, I'll chop and add a little salt to them.

Re: Good Friday PWYC
Today is the day I start transplanting tomato and pepper plants to the raised beds. I was trying to hold off for a another week or so because of the weather. However, the plants are outgrowing their pots and the roots are growing round and round on the bottom of the pot.
I made a big pot of my favorite soup and package it up into 7 portions. I'll keep one in the refrigerator ready to eat, one thawing in the refrigerator while the rest stay in the freezer.
DH and I went to a couple stores and got to visit with a couple of lifelong friends. No aisle blocked. There are usually less than 5 people in our small stores at any given time, so not much chance of that happening.
Posting here is teaching me patience and persistence. #JS

Re: Good Friday PWYC
Today I've been doing a little at a time in lots of rooms but maybe not with as much intention as I'd like. The Ds are in line.
I've started in again to my rotation of plant care that has worked so well through the winter/spring so far. Still have not been able to find a way to use dgdC's gift to me of the plant pot she made with 3-D printing - the lip of it is not jagged, really, but harsh-edged and most of the plants can't take it. So still thinking on that.
That's a surprise that your area is already at a time for transplanting, LadyM. We're not there yet. Sounds like you'll be right on time for your plants' root systems.
Really looking forward to an end to this slowness for posting here. Still no explanation to find.
This evening with two quilt blocks underway, I hope to finish both of them except for the potential handwork or blue thread change.
Agreeing with Costumelady, sending big congratulations to LadyM's dd.
Twins', your kitchen smells delish.
