I never made it back yesterday, but church was good, DF PM enjoyed her birthday celebration afterwards,.and we had a nice lunch together.

Today I have a free Friday -the last one for a while - so I want to make the most of it. Not sore what the weather is going to do, so I'm thinking of both.dry weather and wet weather alternatives!

Never got back here yesterday. It really was a long and exhausting day! But we had a lovely dinner. I snatched two "surprise bags" at LIDL - as they usually sell pre-packaged fruit and vegetables, they tend to end up with packages that have one damaged piece and can no longer be sold, so they make these 6 pound bags of "whatevers" adding the less appealing and use NOW! stuff - brown bananas, a head of lettuce that has wilted outside leaves, weirdly shaped pepper, very ripe avocadoes etc - and price it at something like 2 EUR. You never know what you end up with, because you don't really see what's in the bottom - usually carrots and potatoes - and you have to be creative in using it! Anyway, I ended up with enough stuff to make a salad, paired it with oven baked chicken tender and honey-mustard dressing, and it was SO good! It's a recipe I did make in the past, but then forgot about it.

Working from home today. We want to go to the cottage tomorrow, so plenty to do today to keep this house and garden under control! And I really need to think about taxes - they are due May 4 and I haven't even touched the rental accounting!

Trissie, that was a very good buy at LIDL, and your supper sounded delicious! Typing on my phone can have some weird and wonderful consequences with auto correct!

Now it's properly light I can see that outside it's grey and overcast , but not raining. Yet. One forecast suggests it will rain today and be dry tomorrow, and the other says the opposite. They both agree it's going to be cold, so it's going to mean a coat rather than just a t shirt. I think I'll get my morning routine done and then see what's happening.

I'm up and I've taken Fred out. It's definitely chilly, but is looking settled, so I think I'll take a chance and spray the roses today. But first, I need to rescue the kitchen and quickly run the hoover round downstairs.
