Monday, Managing the Day PWYC
Manage your day, don't let it manage you! Take charge, plan, and execute. What are the objectives, the sand traps, the dangers of the day?
Let's do it, home managers!
Let's do it, home managers!
Be at war with your vices, at peace with your neighbors, and let every new year find you a better [wo]man. Ben Franklin

Re: Monday, Managing the Day PWYC
Good morning, Twins', lucylee, Kittykatt and all who follow later today!
I've already MANAGED my wayward kitchen back into shape after an unusual weekend.
I never gathered myself after yesterday's intense outing and visiting to be able to post again. I was pretty much zonked.
Dd27 visited with me a while, then we picked ddolder up and off we went galivanting. First to the plant nursery. Lots of walking and exploring, including exploring my difficulty of navigating when my two eyes don't see things the same way. None of us were trying to make this THE shopping trip for the spring, just learning and making a few decisions, and we each found one thing that was rare or especially "spoke" to us.
Ddolder bought only a large, unusual pepper with many blooms and tiny peppers - beautiful. Ddyounger got my advice on a few annuals, but was especially delighted to find a 2-foot garden decoration that dsonil will appreciate. I found three (?) colors of the disease-resistant impatiens that I know will make me happy in my shade areas, but my odd splurge was a tuberous begonia I've never seen anywhere else. Also, we found a LOT of things to ponder.
A new experience for me - robotic waiters at the restaurant, Because the Thai place we'd planned was not open on Sundays, and we were really parched and hungry by then, we decided on a slightly upscale Asian restaurant I wouldn't have picked normally. Along with a lot of staff, two robotic waiters were singing along carrying meals to tables. The first few times around us, everything was fine. Children were especially delighted when offered to take their meals the robots "pointed" to with lights (robots didn't actually position plates onto tables). There was a snafu, however, when two of the robots had to encounter each other as they waited on the same large party. Personnel had to come and direct one to safely back up around a corner and get out of the other's way, lol.

Harriet ty for sharing about the non human wait staff!
It's been raining I took advantage of that and fertilized 1st thing.
Did not have to use hoses yea! Got 939 steps in before coffee.
I'm starting a challenge for myself 3 anti P. items a day to help with things I"d put off.
I just remembered I need to put some fun one in the mix to change it up and as a reward.
No just all work things! Like going to H. Lobby, and Art Date, or the Garden center could be inspiring.
Add diff. crafting tasks like seam up a few gift bags.
Example a journal I'd set aside got some entries this weekend.
Sore hip is better could have been from too much sitting on my rest day yesterday.
Something to keep in mind. Another good thing a bout going out in the rain!
DD called last nite and we talked briefly.
Got some good news Dd & her dad's fam. has arrived back home this weekend from a D. World spring vaca.
BWP that needs attn. Did some of that and more anti P. tasks. weeded a bit in the rain and put out seeds. ate. did Rx routine.

Re: Monday, Managing the Day PWYC
i was also pretty zonked last night by the time A and V left after 8:30. We had a long afternon boat ride - another couple of friends came along so there were six of us. I think we were probably on the water 2.5 - 3 hours. When I realized it was going to be a long trip out I put sunscreen on my arms and face, but the arms are still feeling hot this morning. After the boat ride we sat on their deck awhile, then decamped to come here. Dh picked up barbeque for us on the way home, just before 8 p.m. dh and V got on their Zoom call upstairs and A watched TV and I read. Once done, they took off but by then I was tired and arms burning and got in bed with ddog. We were both asleep pretty early.
This morning I'm slow, as usual after a busy Sunday. I have my workout, and also realized we're going to a congregation focus group tonight to talk about rabbinic qualities that we look for in a new rabbi. That's at 5:30, I was thinking of going by the plant nursery after my workout so need to be mindful of the time since I'll need a shower too.
have done parts of a.m. routine...
Today need to talk to yard guy about sprinkler - is it ready to go? And I need to fertilize tomatoes because the garden soil that dh purchased as costco doesn't have any fertilizer included in it.

Re: Monday, Managing the Day PWYC
Baked a batch of biscuits and enjoyed rolling those out very much in a clear kitchen. Made the larger batch even tho' there are only the two of us - we can have them tomorrow, or maybe a child will come after school.
My dishwasher seemed to act up. At this point, wondering if we set it wrong or if we've got a problem. Insists on the long cycle.
Thinking of managing the week... ..
Tomorrow I have a morning appt at the distant eye doc for one-week followup. Maybe some errands after that.

Harriet… I love homemade biscuits but like potato chips I can’t eat just one
I’ve been lazy this morning because I wasn’t sleeping well during the night.
I still have laundry to fold. I also have my finally appointment for my hearing aides which I really love. Then we’ll stop at Walmart marketing store to pickup a few things I need.
Friday we have an appointment with Sweeties family Dr. The Dr suspects that Sweetie may have Parkinson’s which my caregiver suggested a few weeks ago.
On the other had Sweetie is doing pretty well with the exception that he struggles at times with his words. He is walking independently two blocks away several times a day. And he does carry his air Tag with him all day long.
LadyM.. Sweetie swears people are stealing things from him because he can’t find some of his tools. Yesterday I found a trowel he has been looking for in a half filled bag of potty soil deep within the dirt. And I have seen him do strang thing like your husband as well. Hugs

Re: Monday, Managing the Day PWYC
Oh I forgot to mention that on Saturday I went to my dgd’s birthday party which was held at an ice skating rink.
My son, who spent much of his youth at a roller skating rink and later worked there, had never ice skated before. He told me he was going to try and encourage me to do it to.
Though I skated for many many years… my mom had me skating on two bladed skates that attached to your shoes at 3, it had been 50 years since I skated
The rink has plastic supports like walked people use for non-skaters. I knew it would take a while for my brain to remember how to skate so I unashamedly used it!
My son on the other hand skated like a pro. First time on ice. He is 45 as well. Anyway, once I gave up the supporter, I used his arm for support as I try to get my legs to remember how to skate. By the time we got off the Ice, which was 1 1/2 hours later with no rest, I was finally able to skate again.
I had a most wonderful afternoon having fun, laughing and spending all that time with my son.

Re: Monday, Managing the Day PWYC
Hey, all! It sounds like folks had great weekends. Ours was pretty boring: church (livestream), laundry (I can see the bottom of my laundry chute again!), a few games of Ticket to Ride, and watching baseball (with mixed results; thankfully yesterday’s 13-1 loss only counts as one!).
Our internet is out; I’m using my phone data, and typing is a real pain on the phone. Saw cable trucks out when I took DC to school, so hopefully things will be up and running soon. The company says service will be restored “as soon as possible,” with no time estimate given. So maybe I will be back later with a better post.

RR - I love hearing about your skating adventures AND doing it with loved ones is a bonus.
I am dancing in the rain today (figuratively speaking)
I am managing the day the best I can. I realized about10 minutes ago that DS17 and DH both had medical appointments this morning that we missed. I called both of those (doctor and dentist) and explained why we missed the appointments. I will reschedule them later. I assume we will still be charged for the missed appointments and insurance won't pay. It is what it is.
Our temps are 91/68F today with bright sunshine to make everything outside look inviting.

Hi!
I've been to the Monday morning stitching group. Two knitters, 2 cross stitchers and one crocheter today.
It's very windy here today. Rain is in the forecast, but not here yet.
I need to fill the dishwasher.
(((LadyM and family)))
RamblinRose I loved that picture of you and your son skating.
