The Faverolles is a French breed of chicken. The breed was developed in the 1860s in north-central France, in the vicinity of the villages of Houdan and Faverolles. The breed was given the name of the latter village and the singular is thus also Faverolles, not Faverolle.

The most common colour is Salmon. The plumage of salmon females is mainly brown and creamy white. The males are darker, with black, brown, and straw-colored feathers.

Because of their gentleness Faverolles have become a popular breed of chicken to keep as a pet, especially for children. They are also enjoying increasing popularity with people who keep small home flocks, who favour dual purpose breeds which are well suited to both egg production and use as meat. Faverolles are considered to be very good layers, a well-cared for Faverolles hen will lay approximately four pink- brown eggs per week.

Good morning, everyone, and happy Friday!

I'm back from an early successful dentist appointment (just a check up and everything was fine ) and a quick visit to the library. Sometime during my absence, BIL arrived for the weekend. He and DH have gone out somewhere for the day (beer festival?), taking a cooked quiche and one of the old towels with them!!! (Why??!!)

Today started off wet, and it's still unsettled. I 've done a little in my front garden, but it's too wet to do anything round the back ATM. I would like to get outside again today, but there's a long list of things I have to do indoors before the men come back. I'm also expecting a delivery between 1 and 2 pm. However, Freddie has just climbed onto my lap, so he takes priority!

Call in at library - drp off some unused toiletries I can no longer use at the beauty bank there
Take Freddie out

Rubbish down to bins
Go for my walk- I'm counting all the walking I did in town
Run hoover round downstairs?

Garden time - can I feed pots? A little deadheading?

Stick ear on wooden cat that Matilda broke when she jumped onto the cabinet and knocked it off

LAnn - what are you servicing? Hopefully, they don't keep you waiting too long.

Speaking of service: my steps are still awaiting the final touches... Very frustrating.

Yet another gloomy day here. It is supposed to improve as we go. Will check when is the best to take out Dpup.
She had another little issue in her crate. I think she brings up a bit of fluid in the night. (Like reflux) It does not happen during the day, that is why I think it's reflux... This was the second one this week. I must keep an eye.

We shall start MR.

I have a service contract on the water heater, furnace, and air conditioner from the same place, KitKat. It is just the yearly service and they are all relatively new so it shouldn’t in theory take too long.

What do you need done to your steps, kitkat? Oh, I hope pup is OK.

The flight yesterday was uneventful, just like we like them to be. We stopped by IKEA on the way to ds+F's house to pick up simple side tables and table lamps to go in their guest bedroom. Dh said he'd talked about this with ds, but it turns out, they put 2 side tables in the room since we'd been here last. LOL! Although, one isn't by the bed and doesn't fit by the bed. We need to move the bed a little. Then, we stopped by the grocery store to get yogurt and berries. Baby I is just the cutest! She has large dark eyes and long dark eyelashes. We're all light, but ds had long eyelashes as a small child. She seems very active, always moving and is either trying to stand if you're holding her - or to get on her knees if she's on her tummy. Hmm... She may be crawling soon.

Right now, just dh and myself are up. It is 7:30 a.m. here. Dh has been in work meetings for a couple hours already and has one more. I think I slept 9 hours last night.

Today, we're meeting up with friend DS who happens to be in the area as well. She just helped her DD pack up as she is moving to LA. (Tangential history: DS and her dh - also DS - live in the SF area. We see them from time to time and have a loose tradition of traveling with them 1X/year, typically out west bc DS (the dh) doesn't like to travel anymore. DS (the dh) and my dh were best friends in grad school. DS was dh's best man at our wedding. All 4 of us went to the same church and became friendly with each other.)

I think we'll go see a waterfall that is about a 45 minute drive away, leaving here in maybe 2 hours? F says that baby I does better in the morning. After that, I'm not sure what the plan is. I think we're spending all day with DS. That's a lot of socializing for me; I might need a break at some point. DS is very social.
