The Light Sussex chicken originates in the historic county of Sussex, in south-east England. It is among the oldest of British chicken breeds:: 289  birds described as "Old Sussex or Kent Fowl" were shown at the first poultry show at London Zoo in 1845

The light Sussex has a white body with a black tail and black in the flight feathers and wing coverts; the neck hackles are white with black striping.

Light Sussex chickens are excellent, reliable, and prolific layers, generally producing between 200 and 300 large cream to light brown eggs per year. They are a popular dual-purpose breed, known for being hardy in cold weather and having a friendly, docile temperament. They also continue to lay well through the winter.

When car cloths are dry,.fold and return to car!
Put window vac by front door to return to DF PM tomorrow
Trim and file finger nails before this evening!

It's a sunny weekend. Yesterday as supposed to be cloudy and gray, and in the end it was bright and sunny most day. DS10 who had a whole-day athletics event with other boys had a sunburnt face and neck in the evening, he seems to say other boys had the same. I need to remember that Brittany has a strong aversion to weather forecasters, and pack sunscreen any time I pack a bag for someone in the family.
Off payroll until Monday night. It feels good to have less time at payroll - although in the end I have the same amount of work, since 80% of the things I do, no one else knows how to do properly. A good thing I was productive those past few weeks, I will be able to catch up more easily.
May and June will be harder, with May being the month for tax deadlines, at home and at payroll, and June is hot with end-of-schoolyear events and MrNG has tests for his training and a memoir to write.

Hello, FFB! You've been productive this morning -I hope DS enjoys his play date and you enjoy the time with only 1 DKid at home.

Yes, BIL is still with us. He is definitely "D" when he's safely back home, but not "D" when he's staying here. I think part of the problem is I expect adult guests to behave like adults, and although BIL is very well trained and civilised at home ( his wife wouldn't accept anything else!), when he comes to stay, he seems to revert to being a teenager and drags DH down with him. I know DH behaves himself considerately when *he* goes to stay with BIL, because I give him reminders (make your bed, wipe down the shower when you've used it, remember to use the coaster provided for your drink and take your glass out to the kitchen when you've finished, if you have a snack , ask for a plate so you dont drop crumbs everywhere etc, etc), but this morning I had to spend time scrubbing spilt beer out of the sitting room carpet , and then deal with the recycling that had been tossed in the approximate direction of the bin in the kitchen.

Another issue is that BIL doesn't like cats! (Need I say any more?) Dear little Jude stays mostly in our bedroom while he is here, Freddie tends not to like guests anyway, so I always advise people not to touch him, and Matilda doesn't care! I have to remind BIL that Matilda has no concept of personal property, and, as far as she's concerned, what's yours is hers! At least BIL has finally learned how to shut the spare room door, so he no longer gets any feline visitors in the early hours of the morning.

However, onto more pleasant subjects. Now I have the house tidy, and my cleaning cloths going round in the washing machine, I'll take the rubbish out and then spend some time in my garden. It's clouded over a bit, but it's still dry.

Hello, all. I am listening to my Saturday morning radio shows on this beautiful morning. I have the patio door open wide. These are the days that we wait all year for.

I'm glad that you get to enjoy the good weather too. I hope that you get through BIL's visit without resorting to anything that leads to jail time.

I know what you mean about knowing that your work is waiting for you, FrenchFly. Until I was in my forties, my jobs were like that. The one bring side was that my work was well defined so that they couldn't pile other people's work on me. New projects yes, but drop everything that you're doing to bail out your lazy coworker no. When I geared down to entry level jobs, I really liked being able to just drop the responsibilities and walk away at the end of the day.

I got good news last night. My bff got a single ticket to the Men Of The Deeps concert that I am to. They are a chorus of coal miners and their concert is almost sold out. My bff is going to meet me before the concert to go the restaurant that makes jollof rice that I had told her about. A great birthday celebration!
