Queen Elizabeth II was born on this day 100 years ago!!

There are some YouTube videos celebrating the life of England's longest reigning Queen, including one from King Charles III.

Have any of your relatives made it to 100 years old? Do you know anyone that has?

Thank you for starting us off, Cathy. My DF E was 100 back in January, and she had a party to celebrate. She always said she was just a few months older than Queen Elizabeth, and was understandably sad when our late Queen passed away. But it didn't stop E celebrating her own special birthday earlier this year with all her friends and large extended family.

I gotta get going, I was up at seven and finalized the grocery order, but I've been lollygagging since. Dh has gone to his workout but left his phone here and the app for the CGM is beeping every few minutes. Shrill and annoying!

Anyway, I have lots to do today. I'm going to get laundry going, and get breadmaker going for starters. I'd like to get those plants into pots today too. And eight plus us for dinner tonight.

yes on the question of 100 yrs old
Great grand pa lived to be 100.
grand pa lived to 99 one mo. shy of 100.
Granny lived to be 100.
one parent is 90+ now 93 I believe.
One aunt still alive 95 now.

Last evening I heard a yt vid. on the 1950's morning routine.
I am falling way short on my routines so I am rethinking those.
Both a.m. & p,m, ones.
I am okay on weekly and d's cleaning ones however.

It's time for a reset.
I did get some items boxed and bagged up to declutter and they are by the door ready to load in the rig.
Trash is at the curb.

Adding opening the curtains to my mornings.
Get dressed picking out clothes needs added ... just sayin'.

Feeling better this morning than I did yesterday yea!

It's also time to tweak my walking routines for spring and later summer as I walk earlier then.
Did a Liv. room pupa of books & journals made progress. Did a RBR also.

I set a timer for 45 min and got busy. Laundry going, challah is in bread maker mixing. Things straightened up and morning underway.

Cathy - thank you for the start today.

I know several locals who lived to be 100+. Grandpa lived to be 96. The majority of my family live to their late 80's and early 90's.

Several factors came together to influence me into putting together a family gathering at the mall tonight. The end result of this off-the-wall idea is seven members of our immediate family are going shoe shopping together. Everyone will pick out a new pair of shoes for themselves in honor of DGS29 birthday, and I'll pick up the tab.
Typically, we have a meal together to celebrate birthday's but I'm changing the activity to shoe shopping/buying.
I don't enjoy eating out so we will see if shoe shopping is a better activity to do together. It's all about making memories with loved ones.

I've been cleaning more books. Boring, but the stickers have been bugging me.

All clean dishes/pots/pans are away. I've washed last night's pots/pans. Dishes need to go into the dishwasher.

No idea what to make for supper tonight. Dh wants liver and onions.

I've been working pretty steadily. Challah is rising, will bake soon. Roomba is vacuuming on back screened porch. I need to work on potting up some plants as soon as the challah is out of the oven, trying to stay close!

That's a long-lived family you've got there, Nancy! The best I can do is that my grandma passed away three weeks shy of her hundredth. DH's eldest uncle made it to 104! Even more amazing, he didn't even go into assisted living until he was 102.

Still waiting on my meds. The tracking now says out for delivery, so they should come with today's mail. Now I just need to make sure somebody's home. Fortunately, DD has no plans. I'm leaving soon to pick up DC and then swing by Target to pick up some protein shakes. At the drugstore, they cost 25% more. I will be so happy when the mail comes and I feel like I can go anywhere I want again. (The last time I missed being here for the signature, it took several days of back-and-forth with the post office, and I don't want to go through that again.)

Other than that, the main goal for today is just to get through the cards.

atlantic flyer, what a joy for you to teach your class. You have something so important to do those mornings. That scripture is dear to my heart. One I've pulled in so often to add to other studies.

Shoes - brilliant.

We awakened almost cold here. It will finally get to 70 but surprisingly cool after such a string of hot days just a few days ago.

I expect to see dgdC today after school, since she wants pie and to see some of the plants go into the ground.

Sobered to have a tick crawling on my arm. HRH and I spent quite a while cutting and splicing parts of irrigation hose, laying it out, etc. So not a surprise, but a caution. The concern about an insect bite is one of the reasons, of course, that I've been so restricted for so long. There's a trade-off between guarding my physical health so carefully that I peer out windows pining away, or guarding my mental health so that I have cheerfulness. Hoping we are past the really cautious days. Goodness knows, my appetite has decided that I am a little too well.
