Re: Bridgit Mendler Monday @ TDD - C&C
Bridgit Claire Mendler (born December 18, 1992) is an American entrepreneur and former actress and singer-songwriter. She first became known as a child actress and continued acting into adulthood, which overlapped with a musical career in the 2010s. After enrolling at MIT and Harvard from 2017 to 2024, she co-founded Northwood Space, a satellite data startup.
Mendler's early acting credits include the films Alice Upside Down (2007), The Clique (2008) and Labor Pains (2009). After signing with Disney Channel in 2009, she played Juliet van Heusen on Wizards of Waverly Place (2009–2012) and soon rose to fame for her lead role as Teddy Duncan on Good Luck Charlie (2010–2014); she also starred as Olivia White in the original film Lemonade Mouth (2011) for the network. After the conclusion of Good Luck Charlie, she appeared on the NBC sitcom Undateable (2015–2016), the ABC/CMT musical television series Nashville (2017), and the Netflix comedy series Merry Happy Whatever (2019).
Mendler began her music career contributing to the soundtrack of Lemonade Mouth in 2011, which produced her first singles "Somebody" and "Determinate". Her debut studio album, Hello My Name Is... (2012), reached number 30 on the US Billboard 200 and entered five international charts. Its lead single, "Ready or Not", received platinum certifications in four territories and appeared on ten charts worldwide; "Hurricane" and "Top of the World" were also released. She then independently released an extended play, Nemesis (2016), which earned critical praise and spawned the singles "Atlantis" and "Do You Miss Me at All". She has embarked on three tours: Live in Concert (2012), Summer Tour (2013–2014) and Nemesis Tour (2016–2017).
From 2010 to 2012, Mendler was an ambassador for nonprofit First Book, which encourages reading, and Give with Target, to raise funds to reform schools in the United States. She was a student and researcher with the MIT Media Lab from 2017 to 2023. She is also registered as a PhD candidate with MIT's Center for Constructive Communications and Social Machines group. In 2024, she became the CEO and co-founder of the satellite data startup Northwood Space, and earned a JD from Harvard Law School. As of 2025, Northwood raised over $38 million.

There's quite a few famous personalities who you wouldn't (or would, depending on whether your kids watched it) have guessed started on Disney channel!
My kids had a huge Good Luck Charlie phase - not really surprising given it's about a family getting used to a fourth child
But I didn't know Bridgit Mendler was such a bright woman, what with graduating from MIT and Harvard and founding a satellite data startup!

Re: Bridgit Mendler Monday @ TDD - C&C
Good morning, Trissie, and thank you for starting us off. Do henna tattoos fade with time?
Dogged, re the coffee, it's always the small things that cause the most trouble. I'm just going to do my best to sooth feelings, recruit some more volunteers, and see if we can just ride out the storm. It's going to be "interesting" in a couple of weeks, as DF PM and MD are scheduled to be doing the coffees together. MD is strongly in favour of using the big coffee percolator, (a pain to set up and clean afterwards, coffee is mediocre IMHO and lots gets wasted) and PM is refusing to have anything to do with the thing and is insisting on using the hot water urn and instant coffee (much easier to deal.with, taste is acceptable,.and of course,.no waste). MD is head of the social.committee and PM.is churchwarden,.so it could be a real clash of the titans
I will be staying out of it!
Today we are forecast .another warm (20C 68F) sunny day. DH is heading.for the office (as Trissie so rightly pointed out recently, this won't be for much longer!) and I'll be at home. Hopefully I'll manage a good mix of indoor and outdoor.activities!

Re: Bridgit Mendler Monday @ TDD - C&C
Good morning trissie - That was an interesting start... I was not even familiar with her name... Quite accomplished - and still young.
Kittykatt we have 15 C for our high - with sunshine! So, almost there... I noticed the Hydrangea is showing some leaves...
Solomon's Seal is growing well.. Things should be green soon.
Waving to FFly - have a great day at work.
Today:
my plan is to stick to my list - still need to add some DPC's...
I have a 10 a.m. yoga class
but, first thing, I have a zoom with a dfriend. (if it works out)
I shall start with MR once I finish my coffee.

Re: Bridgit Mendler Monday @ TDD - C&C
Good morning, FFB! (It's still just morning here
)
I hope you have a nice call with your DFriend, KitKat.
I have just spent 2.5 hours battling with the health centre 's e- consult system (firstly completing the original form, that asks the same question several times, and I think is designed to deter people
, then I had a text reply with a link to the next form, then a request for photos, then yet another form!) But my perseverance has been rewarded with a 10 am appointment tomorrow morning, face to face with a real human doctor (!). Even more incredible, the appointment is for 30 minutes - Dr appointments here are usually 10 minutes maximum. So I can only conclude I'm either dying,
or the photos show something weird and wacky, or they want to get a proper close up look. (This skin flare up from the first MMR still hasn't settled, but I'm now less inclined to think it's an eczema flare, as it hasn't responded as I would have expected to the steroid cream, and I don't like using *that* long term.)
A short walk and some time in my garden are up next!
