Re: Winona Ryder Wednesday
Winona Laura Horowitz ( born October 29, 1971), known professionally as Winona Ryder, is an American actress. Having come to attention playing quirky characters in the late 1980s, she achieved success with her more dramatic performances in the 1990s. Ryder's many accolades include a Golden Globe, as well as nominations for two Academy Awards, a BAFTA Award, and a Grammy Award.
Following her film debut in Lucas (1986), Ryder rose to prominence when she starred in the comedy Beetlejuice (1988). Major parts in Heathers (1989), Edward Scissorhands (1990), Mermaids (1990), and Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992) came next. She earned two consecutive Oscar nominations—Best Supporting Actress and Best Actress—for her portrayals of a socialite in The Age of Innocence (1993) and Jo March in Little Women (1994), respectively. Her subsequent work included starring roles in Reality Bites (1994), How to Make an American Quilt (1995), The Crucible (1996), Alien Resurrection (1997), Celebrity (1998), Girl, Interrupted (1999), and Mr. Deeds (2002).
Ryder took a break from acting in the early 2000s. She returned with roles in films such as Star Trek (2009), Black Swan (2010), When Love Is Not Enough (2010), and The Dilemma (2011). She experienced a career resurgence for her role as Joyce Byers on the Netflix series Stranger Things (2016–2025), for which she received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Drama (her third Golden Globe nomination). She has since starred in the HBO miniseries The Plot Against America (2020) and the Beetlejuice sequel Beetlejuice Beetlejuice (2024).

Re: Winona Ryder Wednesday
Sleep well, Dogged! I think a list for packing is a great idea. How long will you be away for? DDeparted FIL used to say that packing for a weekend and for a week was almost the same, as you still need to pack the "essentials" for both .The latter just needed more changes of clothes!
Today DH goes to the office and I'm at home (I'm making the most of these Wednesdays while I still have them!
) Top of the list, I really.meed to start the email reply to SR. Just 15 minutes will do, so long as it's started. I also need to change the SO for the water and council tax payments, and go through my Amazon S&S list. There are a couple.of other purchases I need to make there, too.
I did manage to file Matilda's HPC paperwork last night, wrap another item for eBay and find DH's shaver (he left it lying around Monday when he knows I do the bedrooms, I tossed it into his cupboard, and then he claimed to be unable to find it!
) so I don't think there is anything else that's vital today , apart from a walk, some garden time, and cleaning the kitchen.

Re: Winona Ryder Wednesday
I really should not announce what I plan to do next, as I invariably do the opposite, LOL. Germane and I got busy using and cleaning her peepads and in the process used up all of her cooked fish for treats. So I am cooking another fish fillet before I go to bed. I should, of course, use this time to do useful things but I donwanna.
The packing list is definitely helping, Kittykatt, as it includes all kinds of things that I remembered last year but hadn't got around to thinking of yet. But you'd be surprised at what a big deal of angsty decision making crisis I can make of choosing which socks to bring, LOL.
I can see that you have your day well organized. Making the best of your time while you have it.
Wednesday
Mini grooming session for Germane
Cleaned up after dog X 3
Cooked some fish for Germane

Re: Winona Ryder Wednesday
Aahh, Doggedly, My mother used to fuss when she was packing for the whole family when we went on our many vacations: "It would be easier to go to a nudist colony." Of course, we never did! I have made lists of where we might be going/ doing, and packed outfits accordingly, even "this is for Monday, this is for Tuesday, etc. So I know that I have appropriate and coordinating bottoms and tops, plus one "outfit" for working if I find myself helping with a project that might get messy. Have a good time with your brother.
Thanks for the starts this week and always, kittykatt.
It's 130 am here. I was just starting to get ready for b ed when dfBS called. Her oxygen was low. I went over there, had her turn to the other side, gave her an extra pillow, and it came up. So we didn't need an ambulance, and she relaxed enough that she felt she could go to sleep, and I could go home. I will contact her pulmonology specialist in the morning (Wednesday). She has an appointment on Thursday morning.

Re: Winona Ryder Wednesday
I'm glad the list is helping, Dogged. Which fish are you cooking to tempt Germane's appetite?y.way of solving the sock issue was to ensure all my socks are either black or navy (wool blend for winter, thin cotton for summer) and if I'm wearing a dress / skirt then it's tights or knee highs, or if it's really.hot some low cut cotton footwear that are don't show above the shoe (I forget their name!) It makes decision making a lot easier, but OTOH is probably boring!
Gma, you are a very good friend, and you also have very good packing advice! Funny story, when I was little, my mother also used to pack for the whole family when we went away, including my father. On year, he complained that she didn't pack " the right stuff". So, she let him do his own packing, and he completely forgot to pack any changes of underpants! Fortunately we were staying near a reasonably well equipped town, and could make an emergency trip to their small branch of M&S
I'm trying to do my morning exercises, but it's a bit difficult with 3 cats climbing on me.
I'm probably going to wait until DH leaves for work, then I can evict everyone from the bedroom and put on a podcast to listen to while I do them. ( I like to do the full range at least once a week, and this week I haven't managed it yet!)

Re: Winona Ryder Wednesday
Gma, I am glad that you were able to get your df well enough that you could go home to sleep.
Your system of packing is very practical in that your clothes will coordinate.
We have run out of salmon, Kittykatt, so I am relying on basa, which is a whitefish.
The all-black socks also sounds very practical.
I hope that you are able to find enough solitude to get your exercises done.
I did go to bed. I am just up briefly and then will go back.
