Monday Begin Again PWYC

Every Monday is a chance to start over!
- To begin, begin. - William Wordsworth

I'm home after a week away and it really does feel like starting over, going uphill this morning. So glad to be back with you for a week of new beginnings and fresh starts.

Happy to see Twins' around, setting us straight.

Happy to see my household is back in connection to the technological world.
Happy that my post from last night was somehow preserved during household disconnection.

I was rather lazily perusing previous Mondays for, you know, great wisdom. And found this Sept exchange:

Twins' : I feel like a Monday here, with my hair slightly on fire.

blessed : Twins'! don't move - I will get the fire extinguisher!

Thinking of Ramblin's ouch from the other day. How are you?
Thinking of LadyM's garden getting bullied by weather. How are you?

I do not have my hair on fire.
I cannot find that paper bill, still, however. sigh
....may have to be creative in paying that

Time to light a fire under HRH and get the dentist over with for him.

Today I have a 10:15 mammogram, 2 p.m. workout, and 6:30 HOA board meeting at the cabana to plan for annual meeting next month. I need to do prep work for the meeting, mostly printing some things but also reviewing last year's expenditures.

Dh is going to hospital to hang out with dcousin J. Once her hospital bed is delivered today, she will go home with hospice. Her adult children are all still working although one spouse is off today and available.

She has felt terrible for awhile and hasn't wanted everyone worrying and jumping in - finally went to dr on Friday and was sent to ER and admitted. She has had silent heart attacks and had another on Friday after she arrived at hospital. She could have a catherization but it might not help, and could leave her dependent on dialysis, which she doesn't want. Her family had been there all weekend and once they all decided for hospice she had them call us. We were about an hour away from getting home, so went directly to hospital to see her about 4 p.m.
sh
I stayed until about 8:30 when dh picked me up and was dead on my feet last night. My neck stiffened up - driving, plus stress, and once home I ate a sandwich and got in bed with some ben-gay type stuff on my neck. I slept well and feel better today.

We had a bittersweet time talking about family - cousins, grandparents, our childhoods.

Our dcleaning lady came while we were away but dh came in last night and unloaded everything while I was still at hospital, so there is "stuff" everyone and in weird places.

10:15 Mammogram
2:00 workout assuming neck okay
6:30 meeting

in between, restoring the home and prepping for meeting. Dh will be with dcousin today and I won't see her unless there's a reason to suddenly go. Tomorrow is equally busy but I get a break on Wednesday and the rest of the week.

Here goes...I'm beginning.

I'm missing bw2 and hoping she and her dmom had a good mothers day.

Hi!

All the laundry that needed to be done got done and it's all put away.
Dishwasher got loaded and now it's full of clean dishes to put away.
Dish rack needs to be emptied.

Dh is sleeping sitting up on the couch. One cat is outside. I need to drink my hot tea and get ready to go to the Monday morning stitch group.

Next Monday is a holiday here. Considering that it's THE weekend for planting gardens, dh still hasn't gone outside to get things ready. He told me yesterday that he would do it today, along with cutting the grass.

I made dh his appointment for bloodwork for August.
I burned 3 bags of cardboard recycling.
I took meat out for meat sauce for the pasta tonight.
Dishes never stop.
Laundry never stops.
Litter boxes never stop.
Paper never stops.

Good morning

It is a typical Monday here. DD14 taken to school. DS17 launched to work. DH listening to oldies music and naming that tune.

We have a rare week with no appointments. I'm loving seeing the empty blocks on the calendar.

Project of the day = continue processing 2025 paperwork. My baby step goal for today is to process one of the 10 categories of papers. Utilities is the category with the least number of papers, so I am choosing that one.

LucyLee - I am interested in your NOK categories if you want to share more. I am thinking about establishing a similar type box but also have it usable in real life now so it will be continually updated.
Thinking about utility category .....the NOK (next of kin) person would need to know the account numbers of all of the utilities to pay them, transfer to someone else, or turn them off. All of our utilities are on automatic pay (except for one that doesn't do that). The NOK would need to know what financial account will be having auto withdraws each month and approx amounts.
I don't think this type of information & planning is morbid. I consider it a gift to the NOK to have things in order, and they don't struggle to decipher my systems.
Stay curious. Challenge assumptions. Success loves persistence.

Morning..

Didn’t go to class today because I wanted an early start on my home today.

Twins… glad you’re home, but sorry abt your cousin.

Had a good day with my son and family yesterday.

Here’s my day:

Sweeties breakfast…done
Plant some seeds in two garden areas
Straighten up the lanai
Clean kitchen
Laundry
Declutter my mb closet
Clean mb bathroom
Declutter my office
Call layers for copies of trusts
Schedule eye appointment
Dust as I go

Need to put Einstein to work

Harriet.. I’m feeling much better. Went to class on Friday and my body didn’t like it so I didn’t go today… Thxs for asking.

I have all the info for NOK set up with all you mentioned. I do need to make an appointment to get my son on all our accounts so he can access it when needed. The bank is open on Saturdays so I just need a time that will work for my son.

He knows where all my pass words are kept and our new trust has been done. He has a copy of that. He also has a copy of what Sweetie and my last wishes are. He’s had that for a long time. He has thanked me many times for doing all that’s mentioned above.

Now Let’s see how much I can get done before I crash😆

On a rest break.
I've removed some seeds on the gutter covers & swept em up.
I have a long tool to reach from the ground I use.
I'm going to try to do this weekly till the seeds are down.

Chatted with a diff. neighbor briefly that really likes my roses and would also like a start and
is interested in iris bulbs.

I am home again. I just do not think I can go to my workout this afternoon. I feel terrible, physically and mentally. I am eating brunch, was rushed this a.m. with dh delaying his shower (but I've been up since 5 a.m. and worked out and I just want to sit awhile) but I asked him to walk dMillie to help me out. Mammogram went well, over and done, but wanted to treat myself to a latte and a cheese danish at the Starbucks at hospital. Long slow line, took too long.

I went by the temple cemetery to check on things there since I it's close to the hospital where I got the mammogram.

No workout for me today. I need to take care of myself a little. Would have preferred to skip the mammogram but dh was fussy about me rescheduling it. I know he doesn't understand me - it's more important to me right now to get my home in order and perhaps grieve a bit. And I still need to take care of prep for HOA meeting.
