I lost my gold star for sleep. **sigh** I go to bed on time but my body wakes up in the morning and doesn't want to stay in bed. I make myself stay in bed between 10pm and 5am. I am not tired or sleepy and almost never nap during the day. I might have to drop my sleep goal below 7 hours but I first I am going to give it a little more effort to get more sleep. I would rather keep my sleep natural & lower my sleep goal vs take meds to force me to sleep more.

I didn't get a gold star for meeting my protein goal yesterday. I was unexpectedly away from home for several hours and was limited on food selection. I made the best food choice with the selection I had, but sometimes life happens. Moving on....

Home from workout. I was just not feelin' it today and considered several times heading home instead of showing up. But trainer had me stretch and do some cardio and weights, nothing very strenuous. I think two days of being in the heat and working on the porch/screened porch perhaps left me overtired. I got up when dh did this morning, earlier than my usual time because hips/back were achy, and my sleep was poor. But I got through it,

I've been taking Zepbound and have lost 12.5 lbs, very slowly. Medicare won't cover so I'm out of luck now and the cost out of pocket is beyond what I'll do at the pharmacy. I'm trying to look at some other options but it's all so confusing, and now I'm not in the obese category, just overweight.

I should have been ready for yesterday. Experience has taught me that every time I get in a stressful situation (taking teen to ER), I handle it well.....until the emergency is passed and the next day arrives. Then all the stress gets processed, and my discipline and willpower are minimum. Yesterday I wasn't ready to process that stress in a healthy way.

DH woke up this morning with minimum memory. That means I am in for another 12-24 hours of stressful time while keeping him safe and waiting for his memory to return.
Note to self .....get ready....this means tomorrow is going to be a high-risk day for not taking the best care of myself.

LadyM. Stress happens, don't be too hard on yourself. We're human, after all. Last summer you were thinking the summer heat might have something to do with dh's memory loss, I recall you felt you disproved that theory?

I'm at my lowest weight (using 10 day average) since I started Zepbound, but as I've said, weight loss is very very slow. Contemplating asking about increase in dosage but OTOH I feel like I don't have enough appetite already and have trouble eating enough protein.

I've mentioned that I have plantar fasciitis going in my right foot. I had backed off on my steps for awhile, but this week I'll on track to average 7500 or 8K daily.

Lady M, I think you should congratulate yourself ant how good and calm you are dealing with the various crises that occur, and while being aware that you are vulnerable to perhaps making less that the best food choices immediately afterwards, try.not to beat yourself up if it happens. The important thing was that you were there and calm in the crisis when everyone needed you.

Congratulations on your weight loss, Twins!

I made it through yesterday's stressful moments with minimum damage to my health. There are only a few days of July remaining so there isn't much time to improve the monthly average numbers. At this point I am going to be happy to not gain any weight. If the numbers hold, I will have a .3 weight loss for the ENTIRE month.
plantar fasciitis
I'm sorry this is happening. It is painful!
Years ago I had this and went to a couple specialist. I had a mold made of my foot and sent away to make special inserts. That process was not only expensive and time consuming, but it didn't help. What helped me the most was finding a Dr Scholl machine to stand on and buying the shoe insert it recommended. The relief was amazing.
Although this was my solution, I acknowledge it isn't for everyone. My sister wears flipflops (nice ones) year-round and struggles with her feet. She told me that she would rather deal with the pain than wear "real shoes". Everyone makes their own decisions.

Oy, flip flops aren't good for my feet at all! I went a couple of years wearing cute flip flops way too much and my feet felt terrible. I only wear them for the beach now, or wear something like Chacos to the beach. My feet feel best right now in my New Balance "running" shoes. I've bought this particular style for years and I take out their pad and add Powersoles. OTOH, I really prefer something slip on and some of those aren't supported enough. I just looked online, the nearest Dr Scholls kiosk is 80 miles away. I had this a very very long time ago and I wore super supportive hiking shoes almost exclusively until it healed.

The higher step count I've had lately hasn't helped either.
