Good morning, Kittykatt, trissie, and FrenchFly. I'm doing a short post from my phone because my computer is acting up to the point of being unusable. I don't want sidetracked into that right now.

I grabbed a quick breakfast and plan to take Germane out before the heat and humidity get too bad.

Good morning! We have a quilting bee at church this morning. We hope to tie 2 quilts to add to our collection that will be sent to Lutheran World Relief.
It's early for me, and I don't want to get out of bed, but duty calls.

I wish I could take some fresh plums off your hands, FFB! Did you get to see the bicyclists? That's so cool!
Safe travels, trissie - and wow, you are transporting a lot of stuff! Good luck getting the camp set up!
Sounds like a good and ambitious plan, Kitty.
Have fun at the quilting bee, Gma. That's wonderful that you're sending the quilts off to those who need them. Also, I'm intrigued by a plant-based diet. We are moving toward eating less meat. We eat red meat maybe 2-3 times a month now, and we eat fish/ shrimp fairly often.

It is gray and rainy today. I woke up at 7:30, borderline for the 8 a.m. start time for the weekly 5K run. I texted my friends to see if they were going, but they never responded so I took that as a "no" and had a slow morning instead. I am dressed to jog and drinking coffee; I will knock out my own personal 5K here in a bit.

It's a nice low key weekend! Today, I'm going to jog and work on house projects (focus: desk) and hopefully get back to some writing. CG1 is this evening, but we're not hosting. I might bake a pan of brownies to bring. Tomorrow, CG2 has been cancelled because 2 members can't join. (L is a med school resident and her schedule changes often and AA is out of town.)

It looks like we are all finding ways to enjoy this summer weekend.

Have a good time at the quilting bee, Gma.

I hope that the weather breaks for your run, helia.

She took some convincing to come out with me, but Germane has been out for her carry. Smelled things, strolled a bit and then asked to go back in. Had a nice chat with our neighbour, who was waiting for her bus.
Now we are both feeling dozy, so will lie down for a while. Germane has already taken herself off to the bathroom to sleep in peace.

Happy nap Doggedly and Germane.

I did get in a jog! I went 3.2 miles, starting to build up beyond a 5K. It spit rain on me a little at one point.

I'm home now and have admired the deep cleaning dh has been doing - kitchen cupboards and walls. When he cleans, he needs a lot of congratulatory comments. LOL! He's still talking about it. . . But I'm glad he's doing it. He got the outside of the dishwasher cleaner than I've been able to get it. He used a magic eraser while I only use stainless steel cleaner.

Next:
- load and start dw
- s2s and self care
- squeegee and wipe down shower

Later:
- some qt
- make the bed
- tidy kitchen
- window seat piles - go through
- finish tidying desk; move Hebrew notebooks
- writing time
- bake brownies?
- clean fridge?

- back exercises
- JOG
- admired dh's cleaning work -- several times
- lunch

WTG, helia, on passing the 5K mark. We can always come here to celebrate our achievements, if our partners don't give the same praise to our efforts that they expect for theirs, LOL.

I feel much more awake now. I'm waiting for my hiccoughs to pass, and then I can to the dollar store to pick up gift card and bag to today. In the meantime, I can gather the paper recycling to bring down to the basement.

There were only 3 of us to do the tying, so we only got 1 quilt done.
Then I went to mother's house to check the mail, empty dehumidifier, pull some weeds, go through some insurance and bank statements. I have some phone calls to make on Monday for questions ...
Had a nice visit with the tenant.
Home- lunch fo leftovers, and I need little rest. But first I am going to try 15 minutes on a pile on my desk, while lunch settles. Maybe the food will energize me while I d o that. I found the bill I need to pay .
it's 90 F here outside.

We're just 86 F here, Gma, but the Humidex is 95. Not a fan, especially as my car has no A/C.
I hope that you enjoyed your time at the quilting bee, even if there weren't enough people to get everything that you would have liked done.

Hi, Peaches

I found everything that I want to dress up my gift in the dollar store, so that's a win. I am almost out of time, so will dress up the gift, spiff myself somewhat, and convince Germane to go back into her pen. She was still squalling in her pen when I got back from the store, so she's not as tolerant as she used to be.
