That is really cold, trissie. I hope you had a hat for your head and some warm gloves. An appointment an hour away from home does add a lot to one's day.
Ooh, I haven't heard of the Irish country doctor, L Ann. The premise reminds me of James Herriot's series on the country vet.
I hope the pup's eye isn't anything too serious, kitkat. Good luck at the vet!
Be safe with those other drivers in the snow, FFB. When we lived in Austin, TX, it snowed a little once or twice -- but it was far more dangerous to be on the roads there than on the roads up north even though the amount of snow was so small -- because no one in Texas knew what to do with a car on snow. Also, there was no city snow removal equipment while northern cities have snowplows, etc.

Yesterday -- what can I say? I finished the puzzle and not much else. Well, I didn't move the sections and do the middle part of the puzzle. I'll save that for later. It is missing 1 piece. This is the third time this has happened with this sort of puzzle; I don't know if I'm dropping them on the floor and the roomba is getting them OR if they're arriving with one piece missing. I checked the area around the puzzle table very well. Accomplishments: I DID get groceries, cook a nice meal of quinoa taco bowls and roasted broccoli, started collecting photos for a NY card, and helped dh drop off his car at the tire place. Also, Fable was here for the evening. And I tracked all my food for the 2nd day in a row.

Today, I'm going to try to do those things I didn't do yesterday. First, I'll drop off dh at a coffee shop for his first meeting of the day. Then, I have the KS2J get together @ 10. I need more groceries because I didn't have the meal plan for the week ready yesterday. And I'll work on phone calls, clean sheets on the bed, and exercise. I think I'll need to exercise in the gym because rain is in our forecast.

We are actually having rather mild weather for us this time of year. High today is 39F. Highs for the next 9 days are above freezing, even up to 53F and sunny on Friday.

We're home. Everybody's vision is good, DBD is to be seen again in a year, the others in two years. Normally, it would be only the family doctor doing the vision check, but since I have VERY bad sight (-8dpt plus astigmatism), the kids need to be seen by a specialist regularly because there's high chance of them inheriting it.

It's 6:45, so I will be lucky to squeeze in 2, maybe three 50 minute sessions, but that's OK. Dailies, homework and DBD's speech therapy are a must and everything else is a bonus!

I did get an appointment, trissie. And, my pup was on her best behaviour. I have reduced her Trazodone to 1/2 dose b/c full dose affected her the following day as well... She mostly ignored the other dogs on our way out. On the way in, I asked reception to call me when they were ready for her as the waiting room was full. This was the best idea. She waited calmly in the car with me.
The tech and the vet loved her and she loved them:) She does have an eye infection - so drops for a week. I'm not excited but I started training her with treats - so she actually let me do it. (My aim needs to get better.)

KitKat, congratulations to DPup for her excellent behaviour at the vet! I'm not sure if it works with dogs, but a very experienced vet once told me that with cats, if you come from behind and over their head when giving eye drops, it makes administering them a lot easier.

I spent the afternoon doing housework, so we are now clean and tidy downstairs. DH has left for choral society, so it's time for me to tackle one of those box files. (I can do more if I want to,of course, but just one makes it seem less overwhelming!)
