Silly me. I added another medical appt to the next 4 days. As if 8 appointments weren't enough. But in my defense, the additional appointment did make sense. Since we were already going to be in the city for another appointment, scheduling them back-to-back will save us from making the hour-long trip again.
I should have realized what would happen when word got out about taking a motor apart in our shop. I went outside to finish walking my laps and found EIGHT vehicles in our driveway. I'm sure they aren't all helping but they are showing up as if it is social event.
I called the septic people about the aerobic system smell even though we added bleach as instructed. They are coming tomorrow to check it out.
Trash gathered from 7 trash cans inside the house, consolidated and loaded into the gorilla wagon ready for tomorrow morning. There are two other 50 gallon trash bags to collect but they will be easy to grab in the morning.
Eight of the teenagers loaded up in 2 vehicles and went to the city to eat. It is easy to tell that today is pay day. Yesterday they couldn't afford to buy ice cream but today they have plenty of money to eat out.

blessed, I've had your troubles with seeds being out of stock on my mind all day. I did check my usuals of Park to my south and Bur pee to my north. If I have disappointment, it's that many flowers, for instance, that I am used to finding are just not carried any more, not that they are sold out. I don't know if you would ever consider a seed company so far away from your zone, but Park does have a wide assortment of flowers, some old or seldom heard-of lately.
That sent me down a bit of a rabbit hole, checking out all the various new-to-me kinds of seed starting out there, lights, mats. Perhaps I need to get that out of my system - the idea out of my head. Yes, I do need to have flowers in spring and a few veggies by summer for sanity. No, I don't need to start a winter greenhouse.
S2S was accomplished without shivering too badly. lol. Obviously, I need to get acclimated to the season, because it ain't gettin' any warmer for a while.
Tomorrow we will be away from home at an appt that is mid-day. HRH was commenting that it couldn't be much more inconvenient for taking up the middle of the day and not leaving much at the edges, considering it's at a distance. However, like Twins' was saying, the very early morning has its inconveniences, too.
LadyM, HRH says that IS a social event.

TWICE I have lost what I was typing on this *&)$!@_(* Chromebook. I don't even know what I keep hitting that erases everything, but the keyboard is apparently VERY sensitive.
Tomorrow is another day.

Re: Doing for Others MLK Day holiday Monday, PWYC
I don't think I have done anything for others today
although I did call dmom to check in with her. She was doing okay. We talked about all the good-looking actors from the 50s -- I watched The Bishop's Wife (with Cary Grant) last night. I had forgotten how good-looking Cary Grant was.
I have done a lot for myself today, I guess, even thought I slept till a very embarrassing hour! No one called or rang the doorbell, and I just stayed warm and cozy all morning. I had showered last night, so when I finally got out of bed, I d2s, did my Bible study, ate, and put a load of laundry in the washer.
I decided not to go to town at all -- no mail because of the holiday.
I am glad to say I have --
* done all the laundry and it is hanging to dry, except the load of towels in the dryer right now
* PUPA in the computer room (discarded a pile of papers, broken picture frame, etc)
* PUPA in the kids' room
-- (both could still use some attention because the pest control lady is coming Wednesday)
* texted with pest control lady
* sent text to teacher group reminding them of meeting tomorrow
* put all the unworn clothes (which I had separated earlier) into the guest room closet
* put clean sheets on the bed
* ate supper
* laid out my material for meeting tomorrow
LadyM, I think your home must resemble my paternal grandparents' home back in the day. Dmom (an only child) said it always seemed like there were so many people there and they were always having so much fun! My dad and his brother were car folks too and usually were working on some sort of vehicle, and usually had a cousin or friend hanging around to enjoy the social event!
Harriet, I'm having trouble with this cold weather too. I am kicking myself for not taking the trash to the road yesterday -- I said it was "too cold." Well, now I am looking at a forecast of ice and/or snow next weekend! Of course, they miss it as often as not, so I'm not too excited, but ddil is very upset. It just happens to be her weekend to work, and she anticipates a lot of folks calling in, unable to make it, and she may have to sleep at the nursing home.
I don't like to s2s in the morning because it seems the house is colder. I keep it set on 72, but some rooms seem too warm and some too cool.
Well -- looks like a bunch of y'all got mail today. Maybe there is something delivered. It can wait till tomorrow anyway. The paper never comes on Mondays so that's the main thing I want from the post office.
Chili sounds good, Cathy. I had Stouffer's lasagna. I hope things are going well with the PSW.
I am sorry about your friend and his wife, LadyM. Having someone to talk to is priceless. You did a lot for him, just being there to listen.
Waving to ALL -- this is as far as topic review takes me and I'm going to try to submit without losing this post!
