I've enjoyed my day with plenty of time to do what I want. It will most likely be the highest completion count of SHE cards that I've ever had.

We have had a busy driveway with DS17 four friends gathering. They took atv and side-by-side to the trails by the lake to play in the ice/snow. They are back now and I've watched them on camera moving vehicles. I'm not sure what they are planning next but hopefully they will use their brains and not get carried away with the joy of playing in the snow. They are mostly a responsible group of teens so I'm not too worried.

We are still on the grid so far.

I can't find my post in which I thought I told you that our ice and/or sleet started at 2:00 p.m. and sounded like a flock pecking. Perhaps I got sidetracked.

I was outside because we had a random delivery guy come and call because he wasn't sure he was at the right place. He was delivering something left out of a previous order. I thanked him profusely and sounded like his mother, I imagine, saying be careful.

I've tried to get odds and ends done, using electricity while we have it.

HRH was puzzled that I was cleaning the toilet, for instance, but I thought, today I can, maybe I will be glad.

Major tv local station says, "we are expecting roads to freeze over quickly". That was about ten minutes ago.

My goodness, I wish I had the energy that some of you have. LadyM with the high card count...
I've napped and read the paper(s) -- somehow, Thursday and Fridays papers were still lying around. I did the crossword puzzles and Sudokus on the day I got them, but had just let the rest of them go. (In all honesty, I ATTEMPTED the puzzles. I've had trouble with them lately. But I like to try the crossword because dh always did it.)
Watched basketball games... our team won, and AL is only ahead by 1 point right now, so TN still has a chance. ;)
I've also eaten probably too much.

I'm also listening to the Grand Ole Opry -- they are broadcasting from their studio, no audience because of the weather. (Ticket holders will receive refunds.) They do have some live performers and are playing some recordings, and they have talked on the phone with some of their regular performers.

We are having church tomorrow -- it is raining now, and may be raining all night, but the temperature will be in the 40s by the time we go to church. School's out Monday -- dgs wants to stay tomorrow night too, but I don't know if I'll let both of them stay.

I don't think more precipitation is coming our way tomorrow, but school is out because of the extreme cold. I suspect they will be out Tuesday as well. Actually, the low all week is about the same as it will be Sunday night, so I don't know how they'll justify staying out only Monday if "cold" is the reasoning. I wonder if they might do delayed starts -- the high will go above freezing for the most part after Monday. (I know we Southerners sound like such wimps to the rest of the country! LOL!)

I hope ddil is making it okay at work. She was only supposed to work days this weekend, but she went over there with scrubs for three days, just in case they had too many call in and in case the roads did get bad.
* Correction -- she came home tonight -- but plans to stay all night tomorrow and work Monday. Then she'll get to be off next Friday.

I hope you all stay safe and warm as this storm passes through. DGS and I watched the national news coverage some and I know some places are really being hit hard.
I guess I better go study my Sunday School lesson since we're going to be in church tomorrow.
Tomorrow is another day.

Up checking on the house. Hoping everyone has a safe night. We put those shingles onto the steps at the back - they have helped before. In theory, better footing because of the texture. But we'll need to keep working on them since a thick coating of ice might make them just as bad as any other spot. Since that's probably the safest entrance, but is also north facing, it's worth it to try. Thinking about perhaps needing to go to the car to charge the cell phone. One of the local weathermen keeps pointing directly at our area and saying he's most worried about us, lol. Oh, I appreciate the worry, but I hope he's wrong.

HRH was saying that if we still have power in the morning, we can watch services, then realized, no, everything's cancelled, lol.
