I've done wall-to-wall sweeping and mopping in the bedroom, the living room and the hall way.

All of the clean laundry is away except the bed sheets. They will be done in the dryer shortly.

We are having meatloaf tonight. Dh suggested spaghetti and meatballs and then he said "we haven't had meatloaf in a long time" so I said "Okay, I will make meatloaf." As soon as I got up from the table I made some jello for dessert.

Dh went and laid down after that. Now he is sleeping in front of the TV and he's "watching" the curling. Even with all the yelling, he's fast asleep.

so sweet that he can sleep through all the excitement - my sweet father in law was like that. so sweet!

hi d Nancy!

dh and I had a nice talk - he has known my family for 49 years so he understands . I have to admit my mom's comments took my breath away. I always knew how she felt but as she has lived with us I was surprised that this was still a thing.

I need to focus again.

Catching up to yall…

Had a slow morning…well I was before 7 to walk Coco..and enjoyed my coffee and watching a program on tv

Morning routines done and footprints were picked up last night. Did a deep cleaning in the kitchen washing down my cabinets and appliances.

Had to unclog the toilet twice today with Dawn and boiling hot water and plunger … hope this last time did the trick.

Picked up Sweeties prescription and stopped at the grocery store. Ran into a good friend I haven’t seen in a while and we stopped and chatted a friend of hers joined us and we had a great time.

Sweetie is doing ok. We stayed up last night watching Barry Manilow and Neil Diamond on PBS. Think we turned off the tv around midnight.

Lucylee I saw where there is a new blood test your Dr can do to check for colon cancer. Maybe you could ask abt it.

I have mostly spent the day sleeping. There's no telling how I will manage next week.

I did my Sunday School class -- had four super sweet girls: dgd, the two regulars, another semi-regular... a two-yr-old who was into everything EXCEPT the lesson... and the two-yr-old's GRANDMOTHER who just sat down in one of the chairs and made herself at home!
It was... okay... but she wasn't a lot of help with the little one, and the thing is, she is supposed to be teaching dgs' class, with dgs and the oldest girl in my class. But she rarely shows up, and since dgs had just as soon be with dd and "help" with the younger kids' lesson, and the oldest girl has a younger sister in my class, everybody's happy... except ddil and I feel this other lady is kinda shirking her responsibilities. She was also one of the few who voted NOT to disaffiliate when our church separated from the larger, more liberal conference and she told me today she grew up in another denomination so I'm wondering how closely her "teaching" would follow our church stance on different matters anyway. But I hope she does not become a regular for the remaining time I'm teaching this class. And I don't know WHAT ddil will say if she tries to sit in on the class once ddil returns. SMH...

Rose -- that's great news! A blood test rather than the 2-day process of the colonoscopy! I will definitely ask about that when I do my next well-check-up for my insurance. Thanks!

Marching into a new month. It certainly feels better today -- I think the high was around 70. Hmmm... weather app says it should have been 77. Tonight there is a 10% chance of rain. I still have the bucket in the attic, but the contractor was here yesterday and thinks he stopped the leak.

EEEK -- I've got to go pick up dgd. She spent the afternoon with the pastor and the pastor's dgs.
Tomorrow is another day.

"Sweet pickled pork back rolled in cornmeal" is how our favourite store describes "Peameal bacon". I just noticed this in one of their ads, so I thought I would share with y'all. The really good, other type of bacon is that long, sliced, half meat, half fat, yummy bacon that is served at for breakfast at places like Denny's and truck stops. (I think truck stops have the best breakfasts because they usually advertise it as "all day breakfast".

I had a wonderful, hot shower earlier and even spritzed on some perfume to make myself happy. :D

It's always a joy to see all of you.

Yep... the really good bacon is REALLY good, isn't it? I know I probably ate way more than my share at a Shoney's breakfast bar once. Ha! Maybe I'm the reason Shoney's closed down. Do any of you still have Shoney's/Big Boy's restaurants? We used to stop at one on our way to a bluegrass festival in Indiana. They had a huge Big Boy statue outside. And there was one in Next Town where we ate fairly often when I was growing up. Sometimes my dad would go by there after work and get a strawberry pie to bring home for dessert.

Y'all, I just turned on my air conditioner. It was 74 degrees in here, but I was burning up! The heat was set at 74, and it was going to have to reach 76 before the AC would switch on so I thought, I've got to have some relief.
I'm about to take a shower.
Dfriend and I are having lunch together tomorrow, and then I intend to go by Tractor Supply and see if I can find something to deter this bird who * every year * INSISTS on trying to build a nest right above my back door! It is just a tiny little ledge of the door facing, and he builds with mud and grass or moss, and it makes the biggest mess! EVERY. YEAR. Last year I used aluminum foil but that wouldn't hold in windy conditions -- although the door is off-set into a little stoop. So this year, I'm thinking I will try to find some of those little spin wheels that people put in their gardens sometimes.
Amazon has some but they don't get very good reviews -- hard to put together, etc. TS might also have some of the little spike strips. I don't know, but this bird and I can NOT co-exist.

Hope y'all have a great day to start the first week of March!
Tomorrow is another day.
