Quick trip to the city made to pick up DS17 prescriptions. On the way home I stopped at local grocery store for 1500 toothpicks that are needed tomorrow for DD14 school project. Because I seem to be running by the seat of my pants....
I realized I was out of time to prepare for DH birthday so quickly improvised so I can have SOMETHING by picking up some deli cookies & cake and couple tubs of lemon icing to use in the decoration. He turns 72 tomorrow.

On the way home from the city I called DD14 and told her to start planning what she wanted to wear for 9th grade graduation. I would like for her select something special that will bring back good memories. If we start the process now we can order several outfits online and have time to return and exchange if the sizes/colors are not pleasing to her.

DH is walking around with the waist band of his underwear above the belt of his jeans. It hasn't been that way all day so he must of made an adjustment the last time he went to the bathroom. He has no clue. We are done leaving the house today so i'm just going to ignore it.
Stay motivated. Success loves persistence.

lucylee, Happy Birthday to your dmother, even if she didn't get to celebrate with you all. I hope she began to feel better?

LadyM, sometimes we are just meeting the deadlines - 1,500 toothpicks. My. And sometimes we are way ahead, like making sure there's time to exchange outfits for graduation. Just doing the next right thing! The kids are lucky to have you.

Happy for Ramblin', Twins' and others having "finishes" today.

Cathy, I'm hoping you and I both have better sleeps tonight.

Don't know how it happened, but my shoulder began to feel better by dusk - maybe just giving it enough time, because I didn't take anything.

Anyway, I decided to go ahead and start on the machine work, and it went fine. I didn't do too much - that was probably a key. Just getting the feel for it. I stole a pillow from HRH to sit me up higher as I worked and that may have made it easier on the shoulder, too.

I bet there are a LOT of things that y'all are thinking, "Lucy really needs to GET OVER IT" when you read my posts...

I called the second roofer, who was highly recommended, and left message with office person for him to call me back.
He did not call back. This is a little bit off-putting, but I am trying to be patient -- will try again tomorrow.
Insurance adjuster did call, and started to come out this afternoon, but we had a sudden thunderstorm and he never made it out here.
Tomorrow, I will be getting my hair trimmed at 12:30, but maybe he can work around that. I'm never gone more than an hour.

Some days, I just really do not want to get out of bed. When the alarm goes off, I just think, nope, no one needs me, I just want to lie here and watch tv all day. I woke up with that feeling today, but I got up, d2s, stripped the bed and started the sheets in the washer, s/s the bathrooms, and did my Bible study(ies) before leaving the house.
I went to the post office, but there was no mail except an insurance company wanting my Medicare business and the THREE papers that I missed last week. A DAILY paper is really not much use when it is a week late, you know. I call them every time it happens, and they say they are adding a day to my subscription every time, but my goodness. It has been ridiculous lately.
I also walked outdoors while talking to ds on the phone. He still has a very scratchy voice, but said he felt better than he sounded. Both kids went to school today.
I've read for a while, and sat outside on the porch for a little while (before the lightning got too close!) -- and I took a nap after my supper of onion soup -- Wmart store brand. It was okay, but I don't know if I'll buy it again.

I have clean sheets on the bed now, towels and underwear put away, the fourth load of laundry in the washer, and I need to hang up the last load to dry.

Good for you, LadyM, on the improv for dh's birthday, and happy birthday to LordM!
Will dd14 be changing schools after 9th grade? (DGS will be leaving middle school this year, going to the high school, which is 9-12. DS was going over his choices for electives while they were in the car rider line. Now I know why everyone hated for their children to go to the high school. When I was teaching, it didn't bother me for ds to make that big step, because I was there with him all the time. Now... dgs is making this jump and in four short years, he'll be thinking about college. Whew. I wish there was a PAUSE button on time.)
Can't wait to hear what your dd14 is going to be doing with 1500 toothpicks!

Harriet, what is going on with shoulders these days? Glad to hear yours improved during the day! Dmom has been complaining with her right shoulder forever, and my left shoulder has been bothering me! Dmom knows her only relief is probably surgery and she doesn't want that, and I certainly don't, so I haven't even let anyone check on mine.

I think dmom enjoyed her little celebration with dgs and me -- it was VERY noisy in the restaurant she wanted to go to though, and her voice is kinda weak and hoarse now, so it was hard to have conversation. And she didn't open her present while she was with us. AND I didn't get her a cake. It was really a dud of a birthday, honestly. But thank you for your good wishes, Harriet. I expect that when dbro comes home * he says the first week of April * maybe we will all be able to go to church with her for Easter.

Waving and saying good night to all of you -- must go s2s so I will be ready to dress quickly if insurance man calls early tomorrow!
Tomorrow is another day.
