The first Friday of the New Year

I get tired by too many social interactions also. Recently it has been church. If I go to Sunday School, which is a smaller more intimate group, I find that is all I feel I can handle and come home without going into church. This Sunday I will have to stay to help with communion.

Lilac, my head hurts reading about DD2 moving, selling furniture, buying new stuff, construction in the new home, all the cleaning. I don't know how you do it. I know if it was me I would be telling her this is the last move I'm helping with!

MT I hope the new medicine takes care of the problem with nothing more needed.

Sadie, so sorry for DH's insurance delay. Know that has to be worrisome.
(Kathryn) weight woes can make us so upset. I was very tired of my clothes being uncomfortable, especially the bras. I wanted to stay in PJ's all day.

OKay, I have the bedtime eating problem too.

Today I noticed I was all out of sorts all day, and annoyed and just irritated at being yet another day on a diet. It's very difficult to do this long term.

We liked DH's new foot Dr. (picked out of the phone book). Gave him a very thorough foot exam and xrays and good explanation of what's happening. Scraped bottom of the foot with a scalpel. Sold us ($10.00) super duper foam insoles with an additional pad to cushion around the sore spot. I really hope this helps him. Course, doesn't help when he gets out of bed or the shower and is in bare feet.

Stopped for a few things at grocery on the way home. Stopped at the bank. Worked on the last spreadsheet, everything is done now until the last bank statement comes, then I'll have one more set of figures to add and copy it all so I have extra copy here for ins. audits while cpa has his copies. I'm getting there, and very happy it's done so early this year.

I'm very discouraged. Problems with 3 of our upcoming jobs have everything stopped. It's like this business difficulty just never ends.

Ran my little sweeper all around the house so it looks pretty good. I baked a ham DH insisted on buying and baked some potatoes, so we're good for a couple days of meals. Feels like time for bed...

Harriet ~ We are not going to limit ages for LEGO Club, but we are hoping for the age group 8-14ish.

Our library already has strong programming for preschool and early readers so they are being well served.

The children's librarian says that it's hard to find activities that interest the tweens who are not into team sports. Last summer she tried to have a craft club for 3rd-4th-5th graders and really struggled to find age-appropriate projects they wanted to do.

Library group president has 2 sons in that age group who are very into LEGO. This school year she has also become a substitute teacher's aide in the elementary and middle schools, and a few months ago she asked some of the kids at school if they would be interested in a club. She says that ever since then, there is a group of kids that ask her every time they see her when the club will start. I'm guessing that will give us maybe half a dozen regulars, and after that it will depend on timing.

We'll be meeting on Wednesdays at 3:30 once a month until school is done for the year, and then almost every Wednesday in June & July while the statewide Summer Reading Program is happening. The time was chosen because evenings are already pretty well booked up by other groups using the meeting room, we don't want to compete with school sports schedules, and selfishly I don't want another evening meeting in my calendar.

You know, it's one of those things that in a small town cannot be predicted. All we can do is start meeting and try it out for a year to see if it will become as successful as the preschool storytime and the summer programs have.

LEGO does seem to be something that many kids continue into college age. I've seen photos online of some amazing designs.
