Got started talking to the minister about the sermon today and ended up recommending that habits book I'm reading to him, too. Church was very pleasant today. We sang from the hymnal more, which is nice in my opinion.
After church we went to dcousin's to give him his belated birthday present. Lots of fun chatting with him. He loaned a book written by a friend of his to dd15 - the history of the school of engineering at one of her likely university choices. He has 1,000s of books. On the surface. Don't know how many under those.
He is struggling with reading-matter clutter, a very bright person with so many interests and taking on so many responsibilities (he has a microfilm (microfisch?) reader in the dining room with work to do for a local non-profit). But finding a place for someone to sit, even after they'd called a few hours in advance? Hmmm... ... not so easy! I sat on the front one-fourth of a chair. Gotta love our eccentric relatives! Back home, it was time to strain the 24-hour slow-cooked bone broth, which smelled delightful. Yielded about a quart of broth. Tastes similar to other chicken broths, but I believe it's darker. It has a good bit of the gelatin over the top, which the articles about it are excited to have you notice. HRH is looking forward to using it in some recipes, and relieved that I'm okay with that. (Yea, right, like I'm going to stop him cooking.)
Dove, my mother's twin's favorite decompress was bird watching from her windowsill as well. They are so beautiful and fun to watch. So glad you and dh figured out the drip-drip! Not your fault that you are trying to spare him chancy work. Maybe now that you know about the potential problem you can stay ahead of it with that ice product.
Nancy mentioned my first thought about a decompress activity - creative time.
I hate to admit it, but I think walking really does help me relieve stress... especially when I can walk alone and use that time for prayer. I say I hate to admit it, b/c I do so little of it. I should be out there upon first awakening every single morning... but ooohhh... sooo hard to do, especially in cold weather. Exercising indoors probably helps also, but there is something different about being outside, observing nature, etc.
, etc. He just is NOT ready to deal with any of it yet and feels some of it is unnecessary. Well, I guess he feels it is ALL unnecessary, or he would be ready to take on some of these projects.) Oh well. Guess I can live with it as is. For the time being.
I'm trying to straighten out a BUNCH of duplicate files on my external hard drive. If I just "copy" and "paste" from "My Documents" to "Passport" -- it never gives me the option to replace previous files with the same name, so it just copies EVERYTHING, EVERY TIME. 
I told dh later, in some ways, it must have been difficult to be my dad's younger brother. Duncle played no sports and does not have the natural easy, outgoing personality that my ddad did, and probably was not considered as good-looking by the females in school. It seems to me that duncle was a lot more fun when he was younger -- but that may have only been because I was younger, also. A child doesn't see the faults in a grown person that other grown people do. Just musing. Sometimes it helps to try to realize why difficult people act the way they do.
